  • How many ways are there to teach or learn a language? What materials, techniques, tools, approaches and attitudes are involved? How can we know which combination is best for a particular learner in a particular context? This presentation will outline what pedagogy research involves and what insights it brings to CUP ELT, our partners and our customers. Attendees will leave this session with a better understanding of how pedagogical research informs the process of designing CUP’s courses and support services.
Filmed during the Cambridge University Press ELT 'Better Learning' conference, August 2016.

Excellent presentation and thank you for sharing.
As a native English speaker who is obsessed with the many different accents I find her accent fascinating and confusing at the same time. I have never heard anyone speak quite like this before. It ranges from a standard western American accent to a slight lilt bordering on northern Irish to a posh English accent within a sentence or two. At times she even seems to pronounce the same word or vowel sound two different ways. It has the effect of coming off as incongruous or forced.
I would be extremely curious to know where she is from and where she was brought up.

R, r, r, r, r... R is so over-pronounced. Trivial things are emphasized. Do you call that research? lol
