Sounds like you figure that the Arab world simply can't handle democracy and peaceful transitions of power, so you figure it would be better off ruled by dictators like Hussein, Mubarak, Gadaffi, etc.. Do you agree?
English Conquistador, I understand what you're saying. I've seen it too of course. I think Bush and Blair ventured into Operation Iraqi Freedom because they believed that if democracy created hope for disenfranchised people, that they might look to civil means to acquiring power, that the fire of their extremism would grow less bright. It just didn't happen. They thought that they could turn the middle-east into a new Europe. They thought that democracy would pacify the region. Instead, it just stoked the flames of sectarianism. Overall, it brought nothing but horror for the people there and the rest of the world. The intentions were noble, but the region was not. Yeah, I agree...it was NATO's fault.
Why was the US and UK supporting the Tobruk government but then switched to support the GNA? What was the difference between the GNC who refused to give up power even though they lost the election, and the GNA which was helped created by the UN? If the House of Reps. won the election in 2014, wouldn't that make them the rightful government of Libya? But the UN is recognizing their new government made from the old government who wouldn't give up power? What??? Edit: Ok I think I understand a bit better. The international community was supporting the Tobruk government since they had won the elections, but then after the UN created the GNA, recognition switched over to them. The GNA took over the government offices of the GNC, as well as control of most of their territory, and the GNC fled to Misrata. Is that about right? But was the GNA not made up of people from the GNC? The House of Reps. I think was supposed to recognize the GNA as the rightful government, but apparently refuses to and still continues to fight even after they agreed to the formation of the GNA?
Nexxarian Well, voter turnout was only 18%, which might've been why the Islamists didn't step down. I'd have to support the Islamists here. And Libyan slavery and human trafficking needs to stop.
Max Werner NATO Led the war through the 2011 civil war, but after Gaddafi died they appended it and it was left to be controlled by other nations (" Qatar -Turkey - AUE - Egypt - Sudan ") and also ISIS.
The Iraqi War is almost finished, but not quite yet. So I decided to make a short video about Libya before that.

Very informative video, thanks
Really good mapping
Removing Gaddafi was a bad idea, period. Maybe he wasn't the most savory character, but he maintained stability, and kept Islamists out.
Well, except for that one time when his country disintegrated and he ended up dead in a ditch.

Andy I'm sorry the intentions weren't even noble
I love Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
I'm making a video about the Arab Spring. It doesn't have Yemen on it, though.
