Thanks so much for this. So many times I have had paddlers tell me to use a singleblade rotating just like a double blade on a surfski. I'll save this an practice it.
Walter Morris EXACTLY .. most people get DISTRACTED with the Paddle and forget about human biomechanics .. and each of us are BUILT different so you have "FIND" your spatial coordinates first before anything else
I don't there is ...it's made for big Powereful Polynesian braddas.. you'll just sit lower in the water .. i'm 180 or so and I've seen our top V-1 Paddler in Hawaii at 260 lb destroying the field .. that would be Kainoa Tanoai ... one of the most awesome Paddlers in the World .. so it's all about TECHNIQUE .. Aloha Ian
sorry guy, but what you are showing has nothing to do with leg or hip drive. This is a pure up and down with the upper body which leads to an up and down swinging boad. That is devinately not the fastest paddle technique.
Ha! You're the best. This should be a must watch video.
Aloha Greg .. THank you .. Yes please share this and help me stop the Bull$h!T thrown around 🤣🤣😍
Yup, this is all it is!

Do Share it Frank ..and teach it .. it will help reinforce your own learning😁
Outstanding……my takeaway is you can’t abandon proper body because you happen to be holding a paddle

Aloha Hualalai!
Hey Ian I was wondering what’s the recommend weight limit for a standard v1

I've seen big kiwis over 6' and 200 lbs beasts do just fine
