I was so into it I couldn't believe it was over already when the next video recommendation thumbnails popped up on the screen.
Jim's closing comment is spot on. I almost fell for one once. I am usually quite quick to detect and block the caller but this particular scam had two things that pretty much had me sold. A Brit accent like myself and a scenario that sounded like it fitted. I think it was something along the lines of being owed some fictitious payout from the government. It was when the scammer went to pull up my details that he kept saying he was looking at a blank file (as in an incomplete file a colleague failed to send him prior to his call). That is when I abruptly ended the call as I realised he was trying to coerce me into divulging my personal details that would have ended up being used to commit ID theft against me.

I’m very amateur when it comes to coding and that sort of stuff, but still more knowledgeable than the average person. I’d literally pay Jim to teach me how to do these things so I can do exactly what he does. We need more people like him in the world, and even though these are criminals, that would not deter me. I have been following this man for a long time and I love and respect what he does, it’s inspiring. And like all these comments said if there were more people doing what he did, it is reasonable to believe that a serious serious dent could be made in these operations. However I don’t think Jim would ever be open to that because he’s a very private person, and like he said, he wants to keep his methods private so people can’t figure them out and prevent him from doing what he does.
I also have no idea how he does this as I have only basic knowledge about hacking, cyber security and all the exploits that exist. And i have an IT background of 2 years training and 2 years work experience, while almost having my bachelors now. But hacking is still so complex and its own domain. I can only guess how he does it but I would also love to know the exact way he does this
You can try learning on your own. I follow another youtuber called Kitboga and he does something somewhat similar to Jim... What he does is take the scammers time, and he doesn't go all the way (however, he is now working with a team). That is something you could do to start soon, and then within time, you will find more creative ways to attack these scammers.
Him, Pierogi and Kit Boga really convinced me to get into Cybersecurity. I finally get a great career in my 30s and I actively want to be able to stop scammers as well.
@@ireallylikecoffee14 Just speaking for myself here as there are many many ways to get into Cybersecurity but I went back to College in Cybersecurity to get a diploma since most places wanted to see academic diplomas, which you dont really need but it gets you in. I was lucky enough to get in my Organization and I just work in Identity and Access Management for an organization and work mostly out of Azure Cloud services. Cloud, Automation, Access Controls, Implementation of security measures etc. Then from there, check what certifications you can take and maybe the organization can pay this for you, but there are endless free ressources out there so I would focus on Microsoft Azure/AWS cloud security as most organizations will work with thoses. And really you can focus on anything you want afterwards. CompTIA SEC+ is good overall big certification that covers most aspects of Cybersec. Its what im working on at the moment. I would say not to focus on a giant certification from the start, they are very time consuming and expensive. Get some good basics knowledge, get a college diploma, get an opening position, read and gain experience through sites like Tryhackme.. and other free ressources.
Not a fan of kitboga after he tried to get Deeveeaar banned for shutting down call centres on UA-cam. He ranted at him that if they closed down the centres he would have no content and no UA-cam channel. Since then I refuse to watch him.
People should give this guy money, so he can create and train teams to do exactly what's his doing. The more of him the better, let's see if those scammers will have enough time scamming people if someone is going after them
Was thinking about. But that could be good or bad but then again he gots the power to see what kind of background they had, it’s training people that are truly passionate about helping, because he’s got the power that can do a lot of damage to, that’s why he’s wearing a mask n I bet his accent is fake, I know I would be covering my whole face n talking with a diff accent. Because there be people on here that would pay him money for his skills. My hats off to him
What I appreciate is the integrity and humility where he even mentions he got scammed himself. It's just an honest evaluation of the vulnerability of anyone to being scammed. Great work Jim and I hope that scambaiting becomes even more common.

He's very protective over his methods as he doesn't want it to leak out to scammers who will use this information to protect themselves
