  • What’s up everybody. In todays video, I will show you how and why you may want to adjust your coil springs on your ATV. I’ll be adjusting the coil springs on my Kawasaki Brute Force 750. It’s very easy to do with a spanner wrench. It may also help to jack up your ATV to take some pressure off the coils and if they are tight to turn, spray some WD-40 or similar lubricant.

      If you want to avoid bottoming out on dips in the trails you can try the highest level. Try a couple levels and see which rides best.

    bruh jack up the quad so the weight is off the wheel and it will make that 100% easier

    its amazing! you have defied the physics of a spring! A spring has a constant compression rate, its linear and adjusting the preload like you did, its NOT a suspension tune. You cannot make a spring more or less stiff. The preload adjustment keeps the spring from becoming unseated during full travel that's it. The weight of your 4wheeler overcomes 100% of the tension set by the pre-load. I can with a great certainty tell you that this feeling is all in your head. If you dont agree with me then articulate for me HOW a spring can change its compression rate from adjusting more or less pre-load.

      Wow… you should be a physicist for as much thought and care that you put into this comment. I literally showed people how to adjust their coil spring, that’s it. Let’s not overcomplicate this.

    if u dont want them so tight to spin, use the other guy to lift the atv on the side that you are adjusting, once the wheel is in the air, they are easier to adjust

    Got a golf cart with a new lift. Changed the full front end to ifs suspension. Pretty sure my coils are all the way out... no flex at all. If i compress them... with this help with flex and ride? Or should i just find a softer set of coilovers?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  Рік тому

      Was the lift kit designed for the golf cart and coils designed for the golf cart lift? If the coils are too stiff, they won't compress and offer a nice ride quality. Are the shocks adjustable with a Spanner wrench? Golf carts are not super heavy so if your springs are too stiff and offer no compression, you may need softer springs or adjustable springs.

      @mattw.7197 Рік тому +1

      @@DieselLegiance yes it was made for my 2016 ezgo golf cart. They are adjustable. But looks like they are all the way out already. I was told compressing them may give a softer ride or more flex. But does not sound right to me. Im sure ill end up buying new coilovers 4 it this summer.

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  Рік тому

      Tightening them (compressing) usually makes for a stiffer ride and more rough but I like that. Loose makes more bouncy but good for certain style/conditions of riding. What are you trying to achieve and where/how do you ride?
