I’m so impressed with your knowledge. I’m a beginner. I started saving seeds from my coneflowers. If I want to put them in my flowerbeds in the spring, but not sow the seeds inside, how would I do that? Do you think I’d have any success? 😂😂😂
I would start them in the ground as soon as your last freeze is done … just know that they most likely won’t produce flowers their first year but you should be able to get some plants going!
I bought sea holly Eryngium last year as a bare root. It grew leaves right away I put it in the ground but not much else happened. This year it’s back and much taller foliage already so I’m hoping for blooms !!! I’ve learned a that a lot of perennials are just too hard to start from seeds. But buying them as a bare root or root cutting works great and once they’re established they keep coming back
Just found you, greetings :)! So much fun seeing you are growing some of the same perennials as I am here in Southern Finland. Fama White is one of my faves, same with cone flowers. Rudbeckia is an annual for us but I still grow it every year. Hope everything grows well for you this year as well!
I’m so happy to see your seedlings growing!!! 👏🏻 I sowed some pansies a month ago and still growing slooowly 😑 I will continue baby them under the growing lights and giving them fertilizer. Hopefully 🤞🏻soon they will look like yours 😁
We all have “that” plant that does not do well in our gardens. “That” plant for me is Yarrow. I seriously can’t figure it out. Gonna watch mine for one more season and then do what you did which is try starting them by seed. And HOLY SNAPS.
Yeah I can’t get echinacea to live in my garden. I have managed to kill 8 different plants this season alone. And here she is starting them from seed. 😆🫤
Yes they will survive the winter if I give them enough time to root in before cold weather hits. The lights were separate from the shelves and can be purchased at Walmart … they are a standard shop light!
Lots of new plants, I hope they all grow on for you. They are all beautiful! Can’t wait to see what you do with all of them.
I hope so too!
Texas summer tries it's darndest to kill forever plants too 😉
Definitely 🔥🔥🔥

Don’t know if I have enough time to start seeds successfully this fall, but I will try. Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks!

You can do it!

Yarrow doesn’t like me either. I think I have it in the wrong place in my garden.
I feel like echinacea likes to be neglected.
Straw flower seems to give me the most trouble starting from seed 😕
I’m envious of yours!

I'm trying some fall sowing of my cool flowers too this year. When do you put your snaps out in the garden?
Probably going to plant them out the second or third week in October … as soon as our temps are out of the 99s!
And I forgot to say I’m in 9b/10a in central Florida
It’s hot there!
So they will survive the winter in flower beds ? Do those racks come with the grow lights?

I got a fragrance flower mix it’s annual and perineal from American seed but it doesn’t have directions. Any advice as to when to plant
Eek! I would try googling that mix online and see what people say!
@@shesamadgardener I’ll try that, thanks 😊
@@shesamadgardener yeah the sunflower and zinnas had directions, but not those, daughter ordered for me
