  • In this tutorial, we will learn how to make a chilled R&B beat using Logic Pro, one of the most popular digital audio workstations for music production. We will go step by step and explore the tools and techniques to create a smooth and relaxing beat.
First, we will start by selecting the tempo and the key of the beat. Then, we will create the drum pattern using the drum kit designer and the Ultrabeat plugin. We will layer different drums and add effects such as compression, EQ, and reverb to achieve the desired sound.
Next, we will add the bassline and the chords using the software instrument plugins such as Retro Synth, Alchemy, Vintage Electric Piano. We will experiment with different sounds and progressions to create a harmonic and groovy beat.
After that, we will add the melody using the MIDI keyboard or the software instruments. We will also use the Flex Pitch and Flex Time features to adjust the timing and pitch of the notes.
Once we have the basic elements of the beat, we will arrange them in the timeline and create variations such as breakdowns, builds, and transitions to keep the listener engaged. We will also use the automation feature to add movement and dynamics to the beat.
Finally, we will mix and master the beat to make it sound professional and polished. We will use the EQ, compression, and saturation plugins to balance the frequencies and enhance the warmth and character of the beat.
By the end of this tutorial, you will have a complete chilled R&B beat that you can use as a background for your vocals or as a standalone instrumental. So, let's get started and create some smooth and soulful music!

THIS MAN IS COLD..... OUTSTANDING BRUH.. Ahhhhh. I see you mentioned the heat over there. Yes sir.. London Cold cause you're there bro.. Your chord progressions are bananas.. I tell you what. you make a midi chord pack.. I want to be the FIRST TO BUY.. Word to Big Bird.. You da man Deuce.. I love your videos and style man.. My heart has loved ya'lls music since the 80's or over seas shall I say.. I didn't know it at the time but yeah, the hot stuff came from over there. America is a bunch of copy cats to me.. They sample everybodys elses stuff.. That's hip hop? Whatever.. lol.. I've been there and done that but you can play, THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE.. and your sound selection is bananas too bro.. I've learned so much from you.. Definitely one of my favs.. But with your approach to music, is refreshing and authentic.. THAT'S MUSIC!!!!!

Bro it’s not easy putting these tutorials together which I know you fully understand being involved in film yourself but to have such incredible feedback and the understanding that the guidance is having an impact makes it all worthwhile. Stay with me bro and thanks once again for the encouragement as it means so much. One ☝🏾 love 💙 my brother. 🙏🏾

I discovered your channel just a few days ago and absolutely love it!! I've learnt a lot from you. I have one question, I can't find the blaxploitation preset on my logic pro. Has it changed name perhaps? I can't even find any of the folders that you went through to show where to find it. Thanks

Hey Lucas. I really appreciate your positive feedback on my channel. Thanks very much 😀
With regards to the guitar preset I am just wondering if you have downloaded the full Logic Pro content as I believe the Blaxploitation channel preset is in one of the legacy Jam Packs and should be accessible on all fully loaded devices. Check to see if there is more content to download then have another look. Good luck 😀
      Duce.

@@MTTC Hey Duce, you're correct. I now see that I haven't downloaded the legacy patch so I will do that. Thank you for the quick response. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

Thanks so much for your very kind workds Cal. I am not a guitarist so I have the mental freedom to try out different presets in Logic to see what fits the project I am working on at the time. This naivety is very liberating for me as I don't get bogged down by second guessing myself. So yes, I just try out Logic guitar presets and keep moving. Hope that helps. Cheers. 😀

I hear you. I’m really trying to reduce the video length and sometimes the easiest thing to cut out is the drum groove but I take onboard what you have said and will try to work it in more often. Your feedback is appreciated and highly valued. Cheers 😀
