All single women are in survivor mode. They either struggle financially, emotionally or rushing to start a family.
Similar thing happened to me. Had a good Relationship but I couldn’t cope with the loss of my Father. Ended up taking a break from work and as soon as I told her she grew distant and started to explain how it was more stressful for her. She never met the man. Fast forward a couple of weeks she broke up with me. So I lost my Dad and girlfriend within a month. Was in a crap situation but pulled myself around. Successful in my work and dealing with life better now. It’s been 3 years and she’s still single.

Paraphrasing Bob Marley, there's a certain charm of sharing a shelter and the same room when you're poor. There's no bigger or humbler reward than to return home and share a blanket and hot cocoa with a woman that cares for you, despite the fact that you have to work like a dog, that you have no means to treat her as she truly deserves (since she's a supportive companion and the one who picks you up when you're at your worst) and that you're still struggling to improve your lives together.

Married 21 years with 2 beautiful and amazing kids. I got lucky and found a traditional woman who lived to be a mother and wife. Just like most we have had financial struggles along the way. At times I have worked up to 10 twenty four hour shifts in two week so we could afford for my wife to be a stay home mom. As amazing as my wife is, she is not what got me through the hard stuff. What has and still does is a mindset that does not allow room for sitting around feeling sorry for myself.
I am glad your life worked out but i'd rather unalive myself than work that much, respect.

I was married for 40yrs. We got married 1 year after we graduated from high school. I had a min wage job and she got a promotion and made a little more then me at the time, and basically we celebrated a honeymoon for the first 2 yrs of our marriage living in a dinky apartment for $250 a month. Our dream was like so many others, a house surrounded by a white pìcket fence, 2 handsome boys, a dog and cat. The happiest time was all 40yrs bc we worked at making each other happy rather then focus on ourselves. Women that divorce to search for what makes them happy are foolish and shallow and self destruct over and over. There's only a handful of women that are truly wealthy and the rest are just as broke as the men are while they continue to gaslight themselves and the good men that are passed over for something better. You women don't deserve better.
