I completed a Ancestry DNA kit and sent it back to be processed. I am 68 yrs . Hopefully he is still on the 🌎. Appreciate your prayers bc you've been in those shoes !
I know how this feels. I was 49 when I found my birth siblings but unfortunately my mom passed in 05 still searching for me. I found out I was adopted in my father's family and everyone hid this from me until I found out on my own. I'm so happy he was able to reconnect with his birth parents. My closure is still incomplete because I never had that opportunity. Wishing this family a wonderful life together.

@amymorton I know how you feel too, I found 3 of my siblings 3 years ago when I was 50, my sister and I knew that my dad had at least 2 other kids however, they had no clue we existed. One of my nieces did a DNA test and got a perfect match with her cousin so called my nephew. According to my siblings, my late dad who I never met had several kids all over Canada and USA as he was in religious cult practicing polygamy. I wish you good luck in completing your closure.
Someone who beats me meeting a dad later in life. I met my dad at age 40 and I found him through FB. I was told he died but deep down in my heart I know he didn’t died. I’m so happy for Corey.

I was adopted at birth, I had a lot of medical challenges which caused for my adoption. I’m grateful I grew up knowing my birth parents. I’m 35yrs old now and my bio mom our relationship is still like a rollercoaster and my bio dad i have more of a relationship with him than my bio mom. This story is beautiful and I pray they will be able to have a magnificent relationship.

GOD BLESS THEM BOTH! I never met my father who knew about me & where I lived. He sent a few letters after i turned 16. I lost touch because he moved. ALL my letters were returned. He passed away. Ultimately, I understand that GOD is my father. 🙏🏾

A feeling I’ll never get to experience… days before I was supposed to meet my dad for the first time I was between 7-9 yr old.. my mom got a call he had passed away so the first time I ever seen my dad was at the wake of his funeral my mom didn’t stay for the service 😢 so him in his casket was the only visual picture I had until I was 25 when I finally met his family and got pictures and saw his face for the first time and boy I look just like him all I had to do was look in the mirror I was looking at his face my whole life 😢

It's been 8 months since my birth father's wife reached out to me. Even though he died in 2019😢 I've been giving a chance to see pictures of him and his family.
My self-worth is shot, and I'm slowly trying to pull it together.

I want to say THAT WAS BEYOND AWESOME 👍😎 & BEAUTIFUL!! Cory finally got to meet his birth parents & he also has a sister too!! I,m not trying to rain on Cory,s parade or anything but I have to say that I just also turned 52 years old on April 12th!! My parents 😢😭 sadly are deceased--My mother Lois Ann Routhier died from cervical cancer on May 6 1984 at 49(going on 50)she was a stay home mom to me--except for a few things: she was also an alcoholic & a smoker & suffering & battling asthma & mental illness that she inherited from my Grandmother on her side who died 13 years before I was even born.I found out a few years ago THAT SHE DIDN,T WANT ME --BUT MY FATHER DID!! MY mother had a daughter from her first marriage then after her divorce from him---she married another guy & had 2 twin boys to him (according to a 2nd cousin here in Baltimore whom I talk to now & then)later on she divorced him then she had a side affair with my father,s cousin until---he(my dad,s cousin) dumped my mother.My father Phillip Anthony Routhier was still legally married for 38 years until HE DIVORCED HIS FIRST WIFE--DELORES MORROW(ROUTHIER) WHO HAD MY 7 HALF SIBLINGS--1 BOY 6 GIRLS!! in August of 1985 before he could re- marry my stepmother of 17.5 years Marie F.Routhier after my birth mother Lois died.My father & Marie were also married from 1961 until 1966 when Dad left Marie to get with my mother Lois on A REBOUND RELATIONSHIP WHICH RESULTED IN THE BIRTH--YOURS TRULY!! ME!! My mother & father were never legally married because Mom stole my father,s cousin,s last name Routhier.My father sadly 😢was a bigimist!! Dad was still legally married to WIFE 1 38 years until he divorced her in 1985 while he was married to WIFE 2 my stepmom Marie & later on SHACKING UP with my mother for 18 years until her 1984 death.Anyhow my father Phil worked most of his life as a roofer or journeyman roffer in the roofing business!!--Dad was an alcoholic and heavy smoker who was also physically mentally & emotionally abused(maybe sexually too--not sure)!! I was an only child to my parents although I pretty much already knew I had half siblings on both sides.I was born in Santa Rosa California but have no memory there or when we lived in Albuquerque New Mexico for a short time!! I had 2 childhood homes 1st one in the Twin Cities Mpls.St.Paul Mn for the first 7 years of life from ages 2-9 years old from 7-1-1974-5-15-1981 when me & my parents moved down here to Baltimore MD when I was 9 years old.I,ve been living in Baltimore 43 years!! After my mother,s death & my stepmom Marie in my life as well as her son my stepbrother Eugene B.Montz Jr.aka Gino/Gene until their deaths--my father moved out of Baltimore in 1987 & moved back to his home state of Michigan until he died from bladder cancer on August 6,2001!!

Amazing story, yes DNA is amazing. Even if you don't get close family matches you can still used your matches to find your parents, never give up on finding your parents!
