I like my RIMS Temp Sensor in the Tube like you have it just to be sure to not over heat the wort. The only con is the temp loss through the plumbing back to the mash. So, a check on the temp at the mash inlet is prudent. However if the loss is more than expected then insulating the plumbing or reducing the plumbing length is the fix. Over heating the wort in the tube to fit it is not good. Thanks for video.
The original plumbing from my RIMS back to the mash was 4ft and returning wort lost about 2 deg so I moved the tube over to the mash so it only has about a 1 ft hose. I heat my initial mash water in my BK with gas since it’s much faster, then use the RIMS to maintain mash temp.
I just finished soldering my RIMS tube from copper tube and fittings. it's not much chipper than SS ready to go but I enjoy the process. I will use Inkbird 308 controller with manual power regulator for start. Being able to step mash and do it in the garage is big plus. I will use it with cooler mash tun so I should not lose the temp even in colder weather. Thanks for sharing

Heat loss was Never a issue with thick silicone hoses. The TTD was nominal less then 1/2 a degree. That’s why you have a temp probe in the mash.
