Ginyu, the big purple guy, is not there because in the actual show Goku successfully convinced Vegeta to not kill him after his mind got stuck in the frog. There was a whole side part with him trying to take over Bulma, which is why she randomly fell over last episode. But in the abridged they decided to skip it and just have Vegeta crush him
Canonically, Goku's not necessarily a terrible father. He's not an amazing father, but he's not nearly as bad as he's portrayed here. Abridged just loved to play up how he's never around, and cares more about training than spending time with his family. Which is mostly because that's what we see when watching the show, due to the show's events focusing around all these threats instead of the times of peace in between.
What's funny is that the manga was even worse about it. The show _added_ so many moments of Goku being a dad and husband because the manga just ignored it entirely.
@@AStrangeWindmill Mangas may ignore a lot of things. That's why filler can be so great. When done poorly, it's obnoxious and disruptive. But when done well, it does wonders for world building where the original manga dropped the ball. And I believe DBZ is one of the better examples of filler done right. Which is one of the reasons why I've never watched Kai.
Just so you know, Krilin has a reputation of dying a lot mostly stemming from this scene! I'm pretty sure that's where the Krilin Owned Count actually comes from too!
They're missing Captain Ginyu...mostly because in the original series, Vegeta *didn't* kill him and he's still on Namak...as a frog. Here, it's because he's apparently in Heaven *as* a frog. Piccolo's "Did you just hold a grudge?" is a reference clear back to the first abridged episode when he told Goku he'd have to hold off Raditz for "five minutes" while he charged his attack...and then hummed the exact same "Imma charging my attack" song.
The best way to enjoy a more modern pace to the Dragon Ball series would be through Kai. OG DBZ especially during the Freeza arc is so slow and dragging it's like watching grass grow.
Well…Frieza didn’t actually kill Piccolo, he severely injures him so he’s sort okay as long as Kami is around. If you think about it; back in the Saiyan Saga, Nappa killed Piccolo by sacrificing his life for Gohan, and then Kami vanished which led to the point of why the Dragon Balls don’t work.
I would actually super recommend after this going on the dragon ball adventure. Watch DB/Z/GT/Super. Filler and all. Even if you dont react to it. I recommend going thru the journey most of us have. Go from start to finish. Good and bad. Plus dragon ball filler is actually epic
this abriged is just a trash, if you seriously want to react to this you should watch Dragon Ball Kai, this version just like Dragon Ball Z but was cut to save time
Frieza blowing Krillin up had everybody gagged

Goku singing in his head is a call back to the early episodes. When Piccolo was charging the Makan-ko-sappo (AKA the Special Beam Cannon), he said "I need you to distract him, for five minutes". Goku saying "eh, you can probably handle it" was, as Piccolo pointed out, Golu holding a grudge, because Raditz was *bodying* him for those five minutes. Goku even hummed the same song Piccolo did as he charged the Spirit Bomb.
This is the *second* time Krillin has died. And it was at that moment Frieza failed to realize: he f✓©ked up. Because Goku is going to *break him!* (Frieza: ... What?!) Like a *KitKat bar.*
To answer your question Ginyu was missing and that was because he wasn't dead
Canonically, Goku's not necessarily a terrible father. He's not an amazing father, but he's not nearly as bad as he's portrayed here. Yeah, and considering how many people watch Abridged before the actual show, a lot of people have this misconception
What's funny is that the manga was even worse about it. The show _added_ so many moments of Goku being a dad and husband because the manga just ignored it entirely.

In the world of shonen anime goku is def above average. Hes kind of this traveling monk that everyone kinda attached themselves too
@@AStrangeWindmill Well Goku died for his son twice, so it's not all that necessary when you think about it.
7:34 omnomnom.
Fun fact: that was neil patrick harris
Happy it make you want to see the real show

"Frieza don't play, he stay doing the fatal blows" 😆 Piccolo's body isn't the same as a human's.
That owned count on by boy krillen was foul 😂
The dramatic pause is really what sells it.

Capt Ginyu aka the big Horny Guy actually survived as a frog for rest of Dragon Ball Z and sime Super
Well, canonically. Here, Vegeta crushed him as the frog. But of course, the footage can't compensate for major changes made by the Abridged script.
Captain Ginyu is not there. He accidentally swap bodies with a nemekian frog
Exactly how i fkn felt when Frieza killed Piccolo! 💀

Aliens have have the different physiology so it will be harder to find his vitals.
Goku is a great father in Z he just constantly dies a lot to save the planet

Love the reaction lol
It you watch the original Dragon Ball Z one non canon episode Gohan plays like a little boy plus gets the passion to save the world
You should definitely watch DBZ but be ready for fillers and things getting stretched out. Worth it.
Popo did call it!
Next ep is broken into 3 parts. Just react to all of it
Because they didn't watch the original, it's not as funny to them.....so alot of the jokes are just going over their heads
Piccolo knocking out Krillin, best part of this episode.
this abriged is just a trash, if you seriously want to react to this you should watch Dragon Ball Kai, this version just like Dragon Ball Z but was cut to save time
