Love watching all of your videos! We're the same age and they bring me so much nostalgic happiness. Your Dad is brilliant for recording so many moments and I'm sure he would be very proud and happy to see what you're doing with all the footage. Priceless content. Great work. :)
Esposito es apellido Español de origen Romano, ¿tú antepasados Españoles?
Your Dad truly was the GOAT of Video Game parents. I seriously can’t imagine getting this amazing Game on day one. As always, love your videos dude!
Thanks man! He truly made it a magical childhood for me
I definitely remember when this game came out, I was 15....man you definitely brought some memories back for this guy!
@@MyRetroLife Aww 🙏🏿❤️
Dude Dad reminds me of Iwata.. Iwata was still a gamer at heart and his Dad was the same.. R.I.P to both of these legends..
Wow! What an awesome dad you have! My dad took all my money which I had been saving for ages to purchase a game back in the day and in the end I didn't get to play it while all my friends were playing it
Sonic 2 was the first Sega Genesis game I ever owned simply because my parents got me a Sega Genesis with Sonic 2 bundled with it for my 6th birthday. That was the day I became a true gamer for life.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is what made me a gamer. Played it at someone's house and later got a Genesis with Power Rangers and Sonic Spinball. My grandma got me Sonic 2 later on. While I don't like Sonic as much as other series now, it was what got me into gaming. I was only 2 when it released, so I must have played it in mid 90s.
Sonic 2 is still one of my fav games of all-time. I would sit in class drawing tails on my school binders while I waited for the bell to go home and play. Ah, memories.
I remember my mom buying my copy on that Black Friday of 1992. And we had a 4 day weekend off from school
You definitely seemed to luck out in the Dad department! The footage alone seems like he is a lot of fun!
I was a Nintendo kid so my memory is of getting Mario 3 for Christmas. We had opened all of the gifts except my parents suddenly proclaimed there was one more present. And there was Mario 3. That game box takes me back to that time in an instant. It sounds like Sonic 2 does the same for you as well. Nostalgia is awesome!
I remember getting Sonic and Knuckles for Christmas the year it released. I was so stoked. I remember adding sonic 2 on top of it and being blown away that you could play as Knuckles in a separate game. Damn good times.
Tyler I love how you tell the story of getting the games in your videos . I do the same thing to my kids when I tell them how I got a big game or system at Christmas or bday or just because ! I love the story telling process of how we got the games and how they are so engrained in our memories so we can now share with others . Good job and happy thanksgiving bro
Awesome video. Love how you tell stories. You just draw me in. Sonic 2 was an amazing. Great times back then. Are you still a sonic fan? Did you buy sonic frontiers?
This video warmed my heart. 😭
I was just an year old when Sonic 2 came out lol
I was 10 back then and I had snes and my neighbour had Sega Genesis and he got Sonic 2.
One Xmas I got a sega chera made buy sage and plug in mega drive or master sistem we still don't know where thay got it I miss that chera
No you we’re the luck kid in the world that day.
this is pretty awesome.... good dads out there should not be RARE .... a good child hood memories should be many multiples compared to multiple bad memories.... like... why are people trying to be so good at being bad
Can’t lie bro this story made me cry , I didn’t have a dad growing up , but it def hits super hard to hear your story of how a true dad is supposed to be ,, I strive & im def doing my best to be like your Dad bro , love your channel & stories what a great childhood
I feel you. My real dad and step dad were both trash and just watching this story about him and his dad just felt amazing and wished I had a proper dad like his.
I feel your admiration, brothers. 🤝 Some BADCP articles actually talk about this...
I never had a dad as well and Tyler’s videos make me super emotional his dad was awesome
Yalls dads are some shit! I had similar stories to this guy growing up. Best Christmas I ever had was my dad getting me and my brother a Seag and a Super Nintendo in the same Christmas. We died and came back to life that day! Too much for a kid to take in! Did the same thing when the Playstation and Dreamcast came out. Christmas's were crazy for gaming!
I can't believe it's been 30 YEARS! 😱 I hope you enjoyed this story - It's one of my favorite childhood gaming memories. Got a favorite memory of the original Sonic 2 on Sega Genesis? Let me know in the comments. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Turkey Day
This was the 1st game I owned, I got it for christmas in 1993! I didn't go to sleep for like 2 days because I couldn't stop playing it!
We where poor back then, and I had to buy a used NES from a used game store. I was 12 when it came out. My best friend had a Genesis and he got Sonic 2 on launch day. He brought it over to my house and we played it until 1 am the next morning. May not have been able to own it until I was 15, but playing with my friend was always a blast on Sonic 2.
@@MrCalverino Same lol. My dad got me a genesis with this and Mrs. Pac Man for Christmas.
Great story! Today is my birthday so it’s crazy to see what was happening on that exact day and how Sega/Sonic has impacted my childhood in the late 90s. I hate to say that I’m 30 now, but i still feel young. Have a great day everyone!
I was 10 years old when this game came out. I was so excited for it. I remember reading about it in Sega Vision or GamePro. I can't remember which one but those were the two my friends and I would bring to school to pass around and share with each other. I was excited about a new character and the hype was so real. I would rent my games and videos from a local mom and pop rental place. They knew I was excited for it so they made sure to hold a copy for me to rent. I also got really sick with a bad stomach flu but I still played it in between throwing up and having a fever lol I remember having really weird vivid dreams about Sonic and Tails that night. Can't believe it's been 30 years. Still have a lot of fun playing it.
I'm sure being so sick but having Sonic 2 made it all very memorable and bearable! Thanks for the comment. Sonic 2 was a legendary title.
I was 4 when it came out and I wasn't playing games at the time but it was the first Sonic Game I ever played. 😁😁😁😁😁
Did sonic traumatize you?
Yet another bittersweet video from you Tyler. I received my copy of Sonic 2 a few weeks later for a Birthday/Christmas Present from my Dad (R.I.P. ????-1997) just days after my parents separated. He gave it and my Sega Genesis to me during one of our last trips together. That whole time is a blur, but I believe that I either asked for it along with my Genesis or I got it as a return from a different game that year. Can’t believe this Nov 24th will be 25 years since he passed. Definitely miss him everyday.
So sorry for the loss! It’s a pain I know all too well. 😞 Glad you can enjoy these videos and be part of the community.
Did you not see your dad anymore between 92 and 97?
@@drunkensailor112 Very little between 1993-1997
@@EvaFull unfortunate :(
I was 12 on this release. I remember playing the absolute crap out of this game as in those days you only could afford 1 game in months.
Loved it and still play it today
Sonic 2 is my earliest memory of a video game, and I still have my original copy when we first got it in the mid-late 90s. First game I truly loved. Love your heartwarming stories Tyler thank you!
This was my very first Sonic game! I didn't get it day one, but I got it in January 1994 shortly after I got my Sega Genesis for Christmas 1993. I was three years old when I got it, but it released a week and a half before my second birthday so when it released I don't even think I was aware of its existence, and if I was I was too young to remember.
Saying this game changed the course of my life is an understatement. I became obsessed with Sonic since I first laid eyes on the cover which inspired me to pick up art as a hobby. I made friends with other kids who liked Sonic, and if they didn't like Sonic I did my best to share my love of Sonic with them. Sonic set a standard for my interests and hobbies at a very early stage in my life, many of which I still abide to. To this day Sonic continues to play a huge role for me like nothing's changed, except now I was fortunate enough to turn my love for Sonic into my career. I love Sonic, I really do, and it's all thanks to Sonic 2.
I really don't know where I'd be if not for Sonic 2. I'd probably be a different person altogether... which is scary to think about!
“So long, Guys!” 😂😂😂 Love this video! Your dad was the best!! 🥹
Thanks, my love!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Tyler! Meeting you at Retropalooza in Dallas was the highlight of my year man!
Same to you, Tim! Great meeting you and Happy Thanksgiving
The irony I was just playing sonic 2
Excellent!
Yeah I remember back in 1992 when I purchased Sonic 2. I was the perfect age at 7 years old. Definitely my favourite game on Sega Mega Drive and will always have a special place in my heart.
I was 4 years old when we got Sonic 2 for Christmas in 1992. The minute I woke up, the first thing I said was that I wanted to play Sonic. I completely forgot about opening presents. 😆 I was Sonic obsessed back then. I remember we freaked out when my brother opened it. So glad we captured all this excitement on camera.
Would love to see that footage if you have it!
@jeez it's not the best footage. Cameras were so huge back then and were hard to hold. We set ours up on a tripod and just let it record. We weren't even on camera when we opened the game but you can at least hear the excitement.
@jeez Alright. Will do once I find it! Will write here again once it's uploaded. :)
Tyler your videos bring so much joy to my heart it's like being a kid all over again. Never had sega grew up with nintendo. But I remember one Friday afternoon after school my parents surprised me with super mario bros 3 got it day one was one of the best days as a kid. Your dad was awesome man
Unfortunately I was not around when Sonic 2 came out but, it has to be my favourite Sonic 2D game. It's just such an incredibly fast paced action platform and just because the story is let's face it quite simple the gameplay elements and boss fights make up for that. This video reminded me of when I got my copy of Super Mario Galaxy as just like you I got surprised after being picked up from school. I loved that game to death and getting it day one and being so excited for it before hand is a memory I'll cherish.
Love Mario Galaxy. I too have a very special memory attached to it that I’ll share one day
I had equally amazing memories of this game.
But it was nothing compared to the joy I got from sonic 3 and then sonic and knuckles.
I had appendicitis and was admitted to hospital hours before it was going to burst! When I woke up from the operation, my dad handed me sonic 3 😁 one of the happiest moments of my young life.
Oh my gosh that’s one of the coolest memories with a video game I’ve ever read about!
Your Dad was amazing! Sometimes, the anticipation and surprise of actually getting the game is more exciting than playing the game itself!
I dont know when I got Sonic 2 but I have very fond memories of it to this day. I bought Origins yesterday and I was up way too late last night playing through Sonic 1 & 2.
How many of us could actually imagine back in 1992 when we were kids, that we'd still be playing this game today 30 years later!? But this time with our kids! My kids are massive Sonic fans because of this game, and it's still their first sonic game they played (playing on the mega drive mini). Sonic 2 has stayed relevant.
Sonic 2 came out like 10 years before I was born. I'll play the classic game titles and feel nostalgic for something I've never experienced. I somewhat feel that way with Sonic 2, it was at the time my favorite classic game before Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Honestly wish I could've experienced Sonic 2 as a kid.
@@phantom-X2086 I can tell you why these feelings are so good. At these times, there was no internet, no patches, no upgrades, no pay-walls, no pay to win, not making money on the kid's heads. It was just "The game must be perfect at the release time", and they were (mostly). I mean bad games are bad games, but good games are good games. But nobody forced you to buy an upgrade to make it better. These games come from a time when the product had to convince the customers. My grandma had a washing-machine that was 30 years old, when she died. We have kitchen-tools here (electronics) that work after 40 years. Some people say, older cars had quality. Today you buy rubbish, no quality, it's all about making money as quick as possible. I remember times when we changed light-bulbs all 5-10 years, today they pop like all 2 months. We bought a big TV in 1992 and it lasted at least until 2012, that's 20 years and it was still perfect. But we changed to flatscreen then, and yeah, they are done now after 5-10 years already ...... And sometimes it's good to see some pixel-graphics, because your mind is activated. Perfect graphics do not activate your brain, but older graphics start the effect of imagination in your head. I think, that's a reason why Minecraft was such a hit.
I really really miss the days before the internet. Everybody seemed so grounded back then… blissfully unaware of all the unnecessary bulls&$”… thank God I grew up during that time. Great channel. ❤
Hey thanks! I feel the same way actually
@@MyRetroLife My man! \m/ -.- \m/
Sweet! 👍
Sent my poor old Grandma into the city on a bus to pick up my copy on Sonic 2’s Day. I didn’t get to play it till Christmas.
I love how engaged your father was in these moments throughout your life. Seems like a gamer at heart.
Great video! One of the best games ever made!
Definitely one of the best games ever!!!
I love seeing videos like this about my favorite trilogy. Sonic 3 will always be my favorite, but sonic 2 is also amazing
1:56
No, you weren't the #1 fan.
Everybody knows that's Chris Chan.
That phone in your Hand will ring with good News Tomorrow in Jesus name Amen claim it. ♥️🙏🏻.
I got Sonic 2 through a mail in rebate. My dad would never do anything like this. After buying a NES he stopped buying consoles and the only time I got a new game was on bday/xmas. If I wanted a console I had to work for it and save allowance or do yardwork for neighbors/shovel and get underpaid lol. Then when I would finally use that money to get a console my dad would remind me that I'm wasting my money and that I should keep saving it. You are one lucky dude.
My Dad and Mom got me the Sega Genesis packed with Sonic 2 on Christmas when I was 8 . They also gave me Mortal Kombat 2. I can remember that being one of the most glorious days of my life and my parents actually took some photos too. Later that year my cousin Omar stayed at my house and we ended up beating the game together. Thanks for the cool videos !
This video was just so wholesome, I loved it 😭😭
As for me, I wasn't even born when Sonic 2sday happened but Sonic 2 would become one my favorite games of my childhood nonetheless. I like to think that even my 4 year old me already knew what a huge game this was at the time of its release because I just cherished the game SO much. But of course, I didn't know anything about the release and the success until I got A LOT older. I'm so happy that we all share these happy memories about this game.
Beautiful story, thankyou for making this
So happy to see you so happy talking about it
Not video games but my dad surprised me picking me up from school the day of game 1 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals (Calgary Flames at Tampa Bay Lightning) with tickets to the game! Definitely one of the best days of my childhood. And my Flames won the game and my fav player Jarome Iginla scored. (Let’s not talk about the rest of that series though?)
Oh man I miss EGM, I loved getting a new issue every month, such a great magazine…I remember getting a Genesis for my 7th or 8th birthday and it included Sonic 2, I had that yellow Super Soaker too! 😅
I grew up with a sister who hated me on general principle. But after saving up $65 (mostly in singles) and planning to make a B line downtown directly from school, she offered to pick it up for me while I was at school. I couldn't believe it. Our relations didn't improve much because of this, I guess Mercury must have been in retrograde or something to cause a brief attitude shift! 😝
And yes...I of course still have it! 😎
I didnt get Sonic 2 on launch day but I did get it the same week. All the video game stores were lined up out the door. Even Toys R Us was so busy. I remember so many memories of video games as a kid. I remember bugging my mother over and over that week about Sonic 2, little did I know, she already had full intentions on picking it up. My mom raised 4 boys all on her own and was working 2 jobs, so unfortunately, I didn't get it on game launch day, but nevertheless, that week was something magical!! All my friends came over and had a sleep over, we played it all night. I remember getting to Dr Robotnik and died. We all ended up taking our turn getting beat by Dr Robotnik. 9am in the morning, Mom was upstairs making us pancakes and eggs and bacon, there we were back for another round. We got to Dr Robotnik and fought and fought. Mom called us for breakfast, but we were in the heat of the moment. Then all of the sudden, kaboom! We had beat Sonic 2!! Was the most accomplished feeling in the world, we were so proud. For the next little while, we had bragging rights, those times were so magical!! The 90s was such a magical time, I miss it so much! I've tried to relive some of those memories, the closest I've gotten was when I picked up another N64. For some reason it brought back the magical feeling, maybe not quite as hype as it once was, but I really enjoyed myself. Now I own alot of the retro consoles and I'm having so much fun playing with my brother and friends!! Time has changed everything but it didn't change these consoles, they are like a time capsule, I love your channel man, such inspirational stories and so heart warming and helps others remember memories that have been locked and stored away for many yrs!!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone 🦃
Tyler- what was more of a anticipated game release- Sonic 2? Or Super Mario 3?
Love your channel man. 80s baby here as well. Every game you talk about brings back a new memory for myself as well Brotha. I still can remember- the day Super Mario 3 was dropped. I waited outside electronic boutique w my mother. 3 hours later upon arrival inside the store- reach in my pocket- both pockets empty!!!!!! The money had somehow disappeared from my own locations!! Not sure how, where or what happened… I was DEVASTATED!!!! Mom not making enough to buy the game at the time I just remember having to wait another month or so : (…. Worth the wait and memory though. !!!
Also- how CRAZY is it - for the first time watching these crazy nerds do the speed runs!!! I would spend en entire summer trying to beat certain games and here comes some kid doing a speed run beating Super Mario 3 in like minutes!!!
Tyler- your dad seems like he was a GREAT father.! You guys had a great relationship…
I was a Sonic 2 guy that actually game w my sega. I was that poor family that was always a year or too late lol!!!
Love the channel!
What a lovely story, yes I got Sonic 2 on launch day. Also I remember a Tv show in England called Bad Inffluence and they did the level select cheat 19, 65, 09 and 17!! wow happy days....
yes new episode, watching it with my son right now
Hope y'all enjoy it
Man, I'm from Brazil and here in my town, we still have a Games Store opened since 1992, its name is Casa Mágica dos Games (Magic House of the Games). I have been buying my consoles and games in that store since 1993.
I got a snes in 1991 but i had a next door neighbor friend with a genesis so sonic 1 and sonic 2 were played but only at his house. I eventually was getting allowance money in 93 and went to a simple gaming store close enough to my house to walk to. Got a used genesis and eventually populate my collecting including those sonic games.
I love that you have this many home videos.
I have fond memories of sonic 2 as a little kid my big cousin used to let me play with him he made me play as tails but I never complained your dad was amazing
The fact you have all that footage from 92 in unreal.
Ooooh man, Sonic 2 was my most played game as a kid 😄. Great video dude.
Definitely up there for me! Thanks for watching man
It is funny. I definitely got Sonic 2 as a kid. But I don’t remember when. I do remember my mom taking me to buy it and then having to go to the post office. lol Funny how the brain works. I can’t believe it has been 30 years. I was 7 when it came out. I believe I got it the following year (1993).
I found it under my pillow on the release day. I was in heaven. I also got sonic 3 on hedgehog's day, 2FEB94.
Bro the Caltoy Sonic dolls. The original Sonic doll came out and I believe Tails soon followed. I remember seeing Tails and sperging out because it was so beautiful. My spoiled friend's mom bought us both a Tails doll. Not sure what happened to that Tails but I still have the Sonic doll at age 36. Passing it onto my kids.
Thirty years ago, this was the best-selling video game in the United Kingdom. Sega was to this country what Nintendo was to the United States.
I got the Sega Master System version of Sonic 2 back than which is different than the 16-bit version but I loved it so much, it was gifted to me by my grandparents for Christmas.
I used to have about 8 different gaming magazine subscriptions, but for me EGM was the Best! ^_^
Dude that's an awesome story your dad's an awesome dude and you were just as lucky as I was back then but only I got to stay home for 2 days my grandfather kept me home from school that was a Tuesday I will never forget we went to the KB Toy Store in the Yuba Sutter Mall in Yuba City California we got the last copy after standing in line for what seems like forever it was a long line outside of the store after I had got my copy there were people trying to buy the game off me there was one lady in particular that was really persistent telling me that she really needed the game or there'd be a sad little boy at home and I replied if I sold you the game I would be wasting my Papa's time he took the time to keep me home from school as a surprise to bring me here and he waited in line this long for me to get this game I can't sell it to you sorry after that we had pizza and a white Cherry Slush puppy and went to the arcade and played some video games and I know exactly how your excitement was about the game man the second I got home popping that game cartridge in my 1989 high definition Graphics Sega Genesis it totally blew me away the music the graphics the new sidekick tails and the addition of the spin dash it was hard to top the games that I had previously gotten like altered Beast with the console Golden Axe The revenge of Shinobi and Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 did not disappoint I hadn't been that excited since I got my Sega Genesis in 1989 thank you very much for sharing your childhood memories for everyone here on UA-cam
after working outside in the heat all day, man im gonna enjoy for next 9mins with some chips! 👍👍
Take a load off! Hope it's worth it :-)
My dad surprised me with a brand new copy of Street Fighter 2 for the SNES one day after school. One of my greatest childhood memories!
holy crap! I bet it was like friggin Christmas. Just the idea of having that game at your house was amazing.
Holy s**t! That was the biggest surprise ever for a 90's kid! 🤩
I got a genesis in 94 on my birthday as a 4 year old. My dad bought it from the neighbors down the street, I guess they wanted a snes or something. I think we had sonic and sonic 2 and the MLB baseball game and maybe Aladdin. We would sitting in front of the TV for hours and play it
I got the Sega genesis or mega drive 2 in Australia with the Jurassic park pack for Christmas it came with Jurassic park, sonic 2 and columns I remember after getting the Master system 2 the year before the kid across the road taunted me for a whole year because he had a genesis and when I unwrapped my genesis at the next Christmas I played Sonic 2 straight away and have loved all Sonic games since one of my favourite childhood memories apart from being the first kid in my year level at high school to own the first PlayStation when it came out
I love all these Videos.. Fantastic Parents.. I'm sorry for your loss every time I watch a video of yours..
I'm a Nintendo guy from the early NES days...but when it came to the 16 bit era I was the Megadrive all the way and absolutely loved Sonic 2 🙏🏽👍🏾Can't wait to get Sonic frontiers for my Nintendo Switch OLED 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
This is the coolest channel on youtube. The feelings you get seeing some of these old games is unreal. It's almost too much haha. There have literally been videos on this channel I've watched that have bought me to tears just because of the feelings I got reliving these moments. Seeing these old games brings back so much more than just the memories of playing them
Sonic 2sday was 30 years ago? I remember getting my copy on launch too. Til this day, it's still my favorite 2D platformer. That or Super Mario World. Probably Sonic 2. Quicker to finish.
Grace Randolph made a mistake thinking Tails was female. Same here over 30 years ago! He looked female when I first saw him on a Sega Vision issue.
I love Sonic 2 so much, I recently bought the Genesis Collection for Switch for $9 when I already have it on my Android smartphones and PS Vita. I have the game on so many of my portable devices. It will always be with me whenever I go.
My family played a prank on me because I had been begging for a Sega soooo much. My mother had informed me that the stores were sold out of Segas and I couldn't get Sonic 2. One of my sisters came over to the house and was like ''I got mother a microwave, u wanna open it for her?'' I was sad as hell...I will never forget tearing off a piece of gift wrap at the corner of the box where Sonic & Tails were running! My soul left my body! My mother got me the Genesis model 2 that came with Sonic 2...I WAS SO DAMN HAPPY I didn't sleep for like 2 days! That was one hell of a prank and I will never forget that happiness-
Great story. Still love this game.
That Super Soaker brought back some memories too 🤓
So much respect to your dad for a dope childhood moment.
always got me tearing up and crying lol. once u got the part where he pulled the game from behind his back. 😭
7:55 too bad they didn't own the hearts of kids more than Power Rangers since the Sat morning Sonic show couldn't beat it in the ratings.
Yeah 30 years wow one my first three games with sonic one and gynorg that was a special day for me as well 😊👍 UK release t
November 24 of 1992 the year I got the megadrive as it was called here remember the UK version came with a big poster
That's so cool.. I got the Genesis/Sonic 2 bundle for Christmas in '92.. I never knew until now that my parents went out and got that for me at release... We never had much when I was a kid, but my parents always made sure that I was taken care of and that no matter what I never felt poor. It wasn't until I was in 11th or 12th grade that I realized that we were essentially poor. Some may say that I was sheltered.. And that's true to an extent but I as an adult now just feel like they let me be a kid.. they didn't burden me with knowing what finances were. I'm going to have to talk to them about this when I go over for dinner in a couple days. Damn. Thank you.
Im glad ur enjoyed our rushed creation in ur childhood we made people childhood.
I got sonic 2 for the master system on Christmas 92. I was 9 years old back then.
And I still got it! Nice memories...
Awesome story, Tyler!!! Must've been hella amazing :)
It was! Thanks for watching :-)
4:20 dude do you remeber playing karams wooden board games
I was 12 years old , my legend of a dad brought me that game for Xmas , I loved it , sonic fan for life , playing frontiers with my son today cheers
Thank you for these videos they bring a smile to my face. Especially right now as my mother my last parent is on a ventilator right now and organs failing. These videos bring me some peace, and some joy. Takes me back to when my mom and dad got me my Sega in 1993. I was 5 years old good times my cousin had got a Sega and Sonic 2 a year earlier. It lead to me getting a Genesis Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Tyler.
I’m so sorry for all that you are having to go through right now. Glad these videos provide some peace. Thank you for the comment. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well :-)
I was 10 and I just lost it. It was my favorite video game ❤
Dude just made my eyes a little wet over a game release date. Bravo!
I miss your dad.and I don't even know the guy. I know the real pain of the reality for you guys though. But I'm sure it makes your dad happy to know that he's missed.and that he's an icon to a small sect of the gaming genre on this thing called UA-cam.he wasn't immortal in the physical realm, and neither are we. But we are when we go to the next dimension, and you dad lives on here in the physical plane
I got the Sonic 2/Sega Genesis bundle for Christmas. I think it was 1993. My favorite stage music is Chemical Zone.
I'm sure that's how many people got it! 1993 was a magical year for Sega and Sonic
Best way to celebrate sonic 2 and tails 30th anniversary!
Btw is there a video of this but with sonic 3 and or knuckles?
Not yet but maybe one day I’ll do a video on Knuckles Chaotix
@@MyRetroLife oh ok!
Knuckles chaotix is an underappreciated gem
Love the content ! Keep up the great videos. Sega was the right system to have, such a great system. I remember my Dad bringing me the Sega system back home i was jumping for joy for like a day straight.
I remember getting it for Christmas that year after seeing the first game at a friends and still being stuck on NES lol. 1992 was Genesis Christmas!
You really get gaming hype. I was just like you. I'd get hold of any gaming magazine at my disposal. The hype was so intoxicating back then. It's like we were actually allowed to be authentically naive. There was an enormous collective sense in gaming back in the day. Sonic 2 was a huge event indeed. Finding out Sonic could turn yellow and become overpowered was a thing of beauty. The lack of information combined with an absolute overflow of technological innovation made the 90's the golden era to be a gaming enthusiast in. Just beautiful.
Didn't your father tell you that you had to get good grades in school in order to buy you video games? because lots of parents say that to their children's to buy them what they want
Going to school on the day Sonic 2 released is like the equivalent going to school on Christmas day
I got mine the following 12/10/92.
Nothing but magical memories of this amazing game! My cousins and I were blown away 🤩
