I grew up with the dreamcast version, but damn, despite the loading times (in this particular case aren't that bad) for a ps1 2d fighting game, this looks amazing
Some people say the Dreamcast version is better than ps1. This could be true but, there´s something maybe they're missing. The Dreamcast version was a direct competitor for the ps2, not for the ps1, so obviously has a better hardware than ps1. If this game was released for the Sega Saturn, maybe could have the same graphics of the ps1 version or maybe a little better, just a little... And last but not least, maybe this game is easier to find in loose or CIB condition for the ps1 than the Dreamcast version, specially in NTSC-UC, but it would have been better releasing this game for the PS2. But I'm still loving and playing it in my ps1 console, specially playing it with the original disc.
@@lvag741 it depends. If you are those people who are looking for the best graphics and lower load times, the dreamcast version is for you, because it’s practically the same game as the arcade version. Now the ps1 port obviously it’s the worst because of longer load times and worse graphics. But, the Dreamcast version is the best but it’s the most expensive.
This port isn't bad as everyone said it is but it is still playable. Yes, I know the Dreamcast ver is better, but the PSone ver is still very fun and there's a lot of replayability. It's weird that this game came out 2yrs later Capcom vs. SNK 2 was released for home consoles (released in 2001 a year later for arcades and released in 2002 for home consoles). This version however is a lot harder than the original even on Lv2 difficulty setting its still puts up a challenge
I didn't understand all the backlash from some people, for ps1 standards with 2d fighting games, this port is extremly good, the animations are really impresive
The DC version, unless you imported CvS 1 Pro, had 2 less characters. The PS1 version is quite serviceable, and just as playable. The only disadvantage it had was it was a full gen earlier than the DC, so of course the DC version was flashier, if memory serves me correctly, this game was also made with Naomi hardware (basically DC hardware). This and Puyo Puyo 4 are damned fine games on DC, but were pretty awesome on the PS1 as well. Not all of us own a DC either (maybe one day again), I DO have a PS1, and the Japanese PS1 version of this game IS in my collection.
SNK was always ahead of the curve, and had the better fighting games. Only Capcom fighters I touch these days are the SF Alpha titles, the Darkstalker games, maybe occasionally Third Strike. For SNK, KoF, Last Blade, Sam Sho, World Heroes, Fatal Fury 2 on to Garou MotW. SNK characters also always had personality to them than the SF characters, even the World Heroes characters had more charm and flair than any Capcom fighting characters.
@@LegionOfWorldWarriors What could have been. I only learned recently that 3ds could have seen that title, if not for Inafune leaving and burning bridges or something.
I miss that sony ps start up sound....
😢
Me too

Would you recommend the ps1 port or get a dreamcast with its version.

Me encanta Capcom Vs SNK, tengo la version de PS1 y la version de Dreamcast, pero me fascina el toque arcade de la PS1

This looks like it would have been on the PSP (I think you can still play it on PSP)
You can also get it to run on a 2ds xl it runs really well
O melhor jogo de luta o 1 e o 2!!
I would stick with the Dreamcast version.
Because we all love to compare a system from 1995 to a 1998 systems. Graphics hungry people these days!

@@Bloodreign1 I don't own a DC but I have PS1, since that is the only other console where this game is available , would you recommend this port?
Why not just play the superior arcade version???
To be a ps1 game this really feels like a ps2 game but with downgraded audio, it is pretty good from a distance
How can i play snk vs capcom 1 in my original xbox?
King was the only one who gave Ryu a good fight. Ryu steamrolled over all the others, even Geese.
sometimes it almost sounds like a town in 315 (NY) land WOOLCOT
Love tecno music U can dance to

@@dreamcastninja88 Both a great. WTF are you talking about? Still can't get over Mega Man Legends 3's cancellation? Suck it up!
