But why celebrate when you're not through? I observe a growing indiscipline among the young Jamaicans. The 3rd leg in particular, lost alot of ground doing that. In their other race, the runner slowed down around 30m. The greats like Usain, Shelly Ann, Elaine etc are very laser focused and humble in their run. I don't know what's changing but may pride not be their undoing soon. However, congratulations to the great Jamaica 🇯🇲

I'm a proud 🇯🇲but I really want to know that our coaches are talking to the athletes about certain behaviors during races. What if the batton had dropped when 2 of the boys were doing unnecessary antics during the race? Save the celebrations until you're across the line. Disturbing trend I see increasingly.
I was about saying the same thing, why celebrate when you're not through? He, the 3rd leg in particular, lost alot of ground doing that. May it (pride) not be their undoing soon. Well congratulations.
@@chineloanazodo2377 We certainly don't want to stifle exuberance in the youth, but remember one top boy in one of these big international events lost the race as he celebrated early, then ended up so embarrassed and looking like a silly boy. I'm blaming the coaches and parents at this point. Party hard after you win.
Well for the first time I will say the showboating nearly cost them the race for real. I am Jamaican but they had me worried for a bit on the last leg after showboating on the 2nd and 3rd leg. Yes I agree they are young for real not upset with them but they need to be able to still maintain speed while showboating because that cut off some valuable time but still my boys forever Jamaican black green and gold.
And u know. If they were ever closer on the theirs leg we would’ve maybe lost it

I did that when I use to run and in the athlete defense it was calling for support from the Jamaicans in the stadium….nah go lie the last leg had mi worried😂
My thoughts too. I'm proudly 🇳🇬 but I love Jamaica's races but this growing proud behaviour may cost them big time soon. Watch the girls u17 4x100 and you maybe offended by the anchor leg
