The art to me as a kid was the best part I was picking out fireworks. I can spend hours at the Rez, just looking at fireworks in the artwork. To me, there is no such thing as a bad firework unless you pay way too much for it.
Oh yeah. I was pretty mesmerized by the art myself even at 8 years old. I'll have something rare from the 70's I think you all will appreciate in several weeks.
Beautiful 🤩 love it bro… that’s weird blackness in the tube but all six labeled black cat shells are in there. Do you think maybe the factory or a previous owner used the tube? but then again, the factory never wasted anything. Maybe they use the tube to test one of the balls randomly from the batches awesome stuff as always…. Black cats transitional stuff that was made in late DOT early UN is known for having both labels… earlier black stuff would just say DOT class C…. they kept the DOT class C on there the first few years after the switch to UN and stop putting it on there somewhere in the mid 90s.
The black cat bricks of today with the QVC still say DOT. I used to get them in 2008 and had access for quite a few years after. Perhaps they were just leftovers because once they were gone and bunch of unicorn crackers came in and you k iw all about those crazy mfs.
@@MetalHeadPyro510 yeah it’s just old stock …. you can tell the newer stuff by qr codes, website address, bar codes, etc… consumer firework, nomenclature in the United States, has never been an exact science lol, another giveaway and easier way to tell is with things like their firecrackers the way the crackers were made the type of crimp or clay that was used, the cracker wrap as they change the Black logo wrap a couple of times before they stopped using it and then when they bring it back for special ions, it’s completely different than the old one was, you’ll see the black wrap sometimes with just the cat faces. Sometimes you’ll see it saying black cat with the faces etc. etc. …
Yes, those different ones in that "Dragon" Black Cat shells look like they were replaced for the ones that were shot from that gun but that whole Kit is still good to hold onto. The replacements are of that time or early UN 0336. Those ladyfingers have the count hand wrightten. Those Black Cat with D.O.T are old but DOT is not old. 175
@@MetalHeadPyro510 Well sometimes DOT is a typ"O" on things before '95, sometimes. It is by and large D.O.T. Black Cat sometimes put D.O.T today but it is mostly DOT with UN 0336 for the most part. No dots between the D O T letters.
Hey I have a question, if I were to build a big salute which is a full stick 50g of flash, would it burst or even ignite in my hand if I shake it or cause to much friction carrying it or even holding while running or walking with it? Hopefully this got you understanding from where I’m coming from.
It won't go off unless you light it. My full sticks are 100 grams. 50 grams I call those half sticks. Back in the day, everyone referred to 30 grams as half sticks. But now I call them quarter sticks or m1000s. 30 grams will fill a 2-1/2 ×1 tube, so some simple adjustments were made as to how I categorize these things.
How much are you paying roughly for each of these boxes? I do have some vintage strike on box Icelandic firecrackers from the 80s along with matches but that's about it :/ Btw I understand for your safety you cannot speak on any platform but instead I'll share with you my progress of whistle rockets in Iceland, I'm the first one ever to do so here as far as I'm aware, I finally got around doing 5/16 rockets :p but it's a good start for the learning curve. Will tell you when I achieve first proper flight, 4 Oz is next and so on
I get it at market value. Good luck on your journey with rocket builds. There's a special way to make all rockets cato free. You have to wax your rocket tubes in canning wax under 325 degrees F. in a deep fry dish nolonger than 10 seconds. This prevents the fire from breaching the space between the inner tube and fuel grain propellant.
Aye runningman I've gotta let you know something. So I went on pyro direct and they updated their website so all the tubes are sorted by inner diameter. Anyways I had a massive heart attack when I saw they actually have a 1/2 inch section! The section is currently empty, but do you think they are gonna add the 1/2 inch silver salutes? I've emailed them about that before and they said they wanna add it one day.
Yeah it the shell is different you solved the mystery in the first place when you seen the tube has been used before. I bet yeah someone shot one or two off and then took a couple shells from another old kit to make it look complete. Who cares though still cool
It's still black cat from what im told. I know nothing of these shells but if one turns up weak, i'm putting flash in all of em. Big boom with fast flying stars always works on a 1.75". It's the only way to go.

@@MetalHeadPyro510 right on, let me know if you’re looking for anything in particular, I know a place that dabbles in vintage.
Man nice video black cat for the win!! 💪🏽🔥 first firework brand I ever lit 🔥 I can smell the box
😂😂😂👍
Man things have changed! I miss good fireworks. It’s rumored that 2 of those black cat shells are salutes
Hahawhaaaat? No way??. 😆 well I hope so.
@@MetalHeadPyro510 is there a second one with the longer lift cup? Three in the video were squatty shells
@PyroThunder well yes..you saw it, right? I think the dead giveaway, if you're right, is the darker green fuse?
Everything in that box takes me waaaay back except for those bikini beach firecrackers those are new to me
I've had Bikini beach before but they were the smaller standard ones about three presidents back.

Dot transitioned to uno336 in 95. Do you still think DOT isn't old or was that a typo 🤔

@3ccdmike How can anything stamped DOT before 95 be a typo if everything before 95 is DOT? 😂
@3ccdmike oh I see what you're saying...it's not old unless it has the dots between DOT. Lol
@@MetalHeadPyro510 there should be periods dots between the letters and most do have those . . . before '95.
I love BLACK CAT FIREWORKS bro
