Yeah. It was power that corrupted him. Power can corrupt people even if the person is L. If you think about it, Light was copy of L in many aspects. Although LIGHT YAGAMI (not KIRA) had more pure personality than L. Because L used to to do illegal and non-righteous things to solve the case.

Just because cartoon channels in India show 90s Anime on repeat like Doraemon or Shin Chan, or decade old animated shows like Oggy, older MCU animated shows or the god awful Indian animations like chota bheem or Motu Patlu, you can look down on "cartoon" being a inferior medium to Anime when both belongs to the same medium of animation. Cartoons like Gravity Falls, Ober the Garden Wall, DC animated series etc. are great. And coming to the adult side, Bojack Horseman is just a master piece. And you cannot forget the phenomenon that is Rick and Morty. You cannot degrade before for their ignorance of Anime when you yourself are ignorant of "cartoons" outside of Indian TV.

Light was just a human and somehow this ending makes us feel connected to Light because Kira is dead and only Light was running, remembering how it all started.

I have been watching the first 18 episodes of this show and I’m hooked. I’ve heard a lot about animes and I’ve haven’t gone beyond a few episodes of Full Metal Alchemist but this show is damn addictive. Smartly written storyline with a lot of twists and turns.
