I first started following the pro scene about 6 years ago, and you, Simon, immediately became my favorite pro to follow. The authenticity, joy, and love that you share so freely is contagious, and I’m so happy to see it yet again in this tough video. I’m so happy for you and for your family that you’ve been given this new opportunity! And I’m sure you will be so thankful down the road when you can tell your son to follow your example, and let his heart lead him. Congratulations Simon! So happy and proud for you!
"The authenticity, joy, and love that you share so freely is contagious" great way to put it!!! This is why Simon is so appreciated, and will forever be a legend!
Being a new Dad and now a husband, you’re taking advantage of every opportunity presented to you. Props to you for taking on this new challenge. Your value was NEVER higher than this off season and I am incredibly happy for you. Nice job setting up your family and putting them first. This isn’t a Simon decision, this is a family decision.
This is far and away the best departure announcement video I've ever seen. This is oozing with class, emotion, and hope. It's all the right ingredients. Well done.
Watching this and reading Discmania's post about you leaving brought a tear to my eye. Reading the comments, it seems I'm not the only one. It really shows the connection you built with the disc golf community over these last 10 years and the respect you are so deserving of because of your genuineness and kindness. I know it's hard, but I hope you find all the comfort and confidence in your decision. Thank you so much for all you have done for us and we look forward to what discs you will crush next!
As someone who took up disc only a few years ago it didn’t take long to stumble across your videos. Your fun loving attitude and genuineness (along with your amazing talent) made me a fan of yours. It’s hard to even comprehend this move as your name is synonymous with Discmania in my mind but you have to do what’s right for you and your family. You are top quality person and a class act and whatever brand you represent is lucky to have you. Your fans will follow you wherever you go. Best of luck with your new sponsor and I look forward to continuing to root for you.
Simon, such a classy and heartfelt video, and the montage was a beautiful way to end it. You are an amazing human being, how could we in the disc golf family ever NOT support and love you? This next chapter will be fun to watch. Best of luck! ❤️
Nothing else matters to me other than that YOU are happy with this change in your career. Hoping nothing but the best to you and your family! Cheers Simon, keep on crushing!
Simon, everyone loves and supports your hard work, passion and respect for the game. You're on the short list of athletes that have changed this sport for the better. You deserve the contract and I know your fans will follow you anywhere! I truly can't wait to see what you do in the future! Good luck & Godspeed!
Watching your growth as a player, husband and father this year has been nothing short of amazing, Simon. You’re a spectacular individual who will continue to inspire millions of people whatever you choose to do. All the best for 2023 and beyond, you deserve it! ❤❤
I was sad when my friends woke me up to this news this morning. I started playing discgolf this summer, and after finding Simon and Eagle on youtube, discmania is the only brand I've thrown, so learning about this I was definitely bummed out. However, after watching this video, I am happy for you Simon. It was your love for the game that led me to find my love for the game. I wish you nothing but the best, and I am excited what you got in store for us in 2023.
The man is finding new ways to reinvent this sport every day, what a wholesome send off. Didn't know I need to cry today until after seeing him make the heart before the montage
Being relatively new to the sport, I gotta say your vlogs and playstyle and overall demeanor have been such a joy to watch. You quickly became a favorite of mine and to see your emotion in leaving a team that's been good to you for so long just shows the type of person and player you are. I am so happy that you are getting a fresh kick of motivation and can't wait to see what the future holds!
I think I speak on behalf of all disc golf fans in that we are all just glad this isn't a retirement announcement 😀 (no matter how good at pool and darts you are) we can see and appreciate how hard of a decision this must have been, but change is just a part of life, and leaving your comfort zone is always the most daunting, but 99% of the time is the best decision anyone can make. All the best for the new venture, I am sure you will nail it, and your legion of fans will support you no matter what plastic you throw.
Hats off to the class that both you and Discmania have shown in this transition period of your life. It goes to show why disc golf is one of the best communities to be a part of! Excited for you to start this new chapter and wish you best of luck in the upcoming years.
Who else except Simon Lizotte, could make such emotional video, field with honesty, gratitude and even remorse? Which makes this man even bigger in our eyes. One of the Greatest in a game of disc golf! Simon, I will follow you wherever you'll go. I really hope you'll get huge contract, cause you more than deserve it. I agree with one of the comments I read, this is the way for players of your magnitude to depart a company. You have such huge talent! Which means, it's not the discs that makes you. It's you, who makes them do whatever you desire! With much love, respect, hope, can't wait for new season to start. To see you do, what you are so great in. Good luck! Huge congrats on last year's season! Danke schön!
Wow- sitting here almost crying out of cheer gratitude of what’s been and what’s coming! What a great role model, inspiration and athlete you are Simon! I took up Discgolf at age 46 and you’ve been a big part in my motivation and excitement to play! Got to see you play and had a disc signed at the European Championships last year, traveled from Sweden and man who’s it worth it! Best of luck with the New sponsor and the 2023 season! Your fans will be rooting for you regardless! Thanks!
We love YOU Simon. The brand that sponsors you is just an extension of yourself and what you decide to make of it. We will always be a fan of YOU and love and support you throughout your career. What a humble man. All the hard work has finally paid off. You deserve it Simon. You and your family. Much love over here from the West Coast of the country. Hope to see you out here!
I don't even know how to feel about this (for myself). I am a HUGE Discmania fan, and an even bigger Simon fan. The thought of them not being synonymous is a bit crazy. But at the end of the day, Simon has gotta do what he feels is right for himself and his family and his career... he doesn't need to worry about how me or any other fan feels about it. Am I a little heartbroken about it? Yeah sure, but I'm happy if it makes Simon happy. I'm still throwing my DM plastic tho lol. Best of luck Simon... us true fans will always be behind you, wherever you go.
The personality, the way of moving on, the way he said it, AND the way the whole community react with full understanding and support, this is what DISCGOLF is outstanding for, and it is what it is thanks to people like Simon.
Who is cutting onions this early in the morning?😢 Thank you Simon for growing the game and community with DM and disc golf in general. Keep it up, I wish you the best in your next chapter 🎉
(Edit: The comment section made me cry out of joy for all the positive vibes.) OMG the best video ever explaining the "In And Outs" of your thinking. No one will foult you for doing what you did. You deserve everything and more for all you did for Discmania. You and Eagle built Discmanias reputation over the years. With this banger season you hade, this was the best chance for that "Once In A Lifetime" offer to come and I'm VERY VERY Happy for you. Who ever made you that offer was a smart Dude/Babe and need a higher salary for sure. Best of Luck and wherever you go we follow as long as you let us ofc lol.
Simon, This video sets a new standard for sponsor transitions. You enthusiastically represented Discmania up until the very end. Whatever company you move to will be getting one of the most genuine, and relatable players on tour. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
I played my first tournament 3 years before Simon was even born. I've seen and played with some of the best in the world, but I've NEVER seen anyone do what Simon does. It absolutely blows my mind that someone can have that much power AND still have the kind of finesse that makes other legends just shake their head in amazement. Congratulations on the fantastic 10 years at Discmania and good luck on your new journey. I'm sure it will be even more exciting.

Congrats on a great 10 years with them! Excited for you and the fans. This is going to generate some awesome new content. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you.
As a new dad myself, i know that money talks. Im happy you have someone willing to pay you what your worth and support your growing family, you deserve it. Appreciate your continued humility and candidness with your fans and support groups.
OMG! Simon, you’re the best! We all love your play style, your kindness and your aura that you give us and have given. Blessings to you and your family, I know this must have been hard. Can’t wait to see you play through out your 30’s.
Congratulations! The creativity and joy with which you play, along with your unbelievable disc skills and humility with which you play make your disc golf play a joy to behold! Keep enjoying the ups and downs that the great sport of disc golf entails! 🏆
I got into disc golf a little over a year ago. You were one of the first pros I stumbled upon, and also one of the reasons I fell in love with the game. It was a pleasure to watch you compete with discmania this past season. I’m excited to see what the future holds for you Simon!
Best of luck with the new sponsor 🤗 very much excited to see what you will be throwing in 2023, and i hope you make some videos on how you go about learning a completly new brand of discs. You have been throwing discmania for a long time, so its gonna be really cool seeing you throw something else. 2023 is going to be so rad, i can feel it.
You’re a good man Simon, we love you buddy no matter what you do or where you go. Heck I’m almost 40 and watching that video with the music at the end made me tear up a little.. I hope the best for you and yours friend ❤
I am relatively new to disc golf and have relied heavily on UA-cam for information. Early on I discovered your videos and subscribed after viewing the first one. I enjoy your attitude, sense of humor, skill and willingness to share information. Your videos are well executed and informative. I compliment you on this video, your graceful and sincere words show you are a man of honor. I wish you the best in whatever is next and very much look forward to new videos.
Every time I lose motivation to play, be it from lack of motivation or plateauing in performance, all it takes is one video from you to get me right back to where I was. When I was younger I used to be super into skateboarding. Every day before I went out and skated, I would always start off by watching some videos of my favorite pros and I would always be filled to the brim with motivation to go try stuff I never thought I could try (anyone who has skated will know exactly what I'm talking about). Watching you I get those same feelings I had when I was 12. You're the only DG creator I'm subbed to and the only person on youtube I have post notifications on for. You've single handedly kept me in the sport. It's not to think you're the only thing keeping me here, more like you're the only person that can pull that motivation out of me. Wherever you go, I and many others will always be here. Life would be pretty boring without some tough decisions, and hopefully whatever company you go to can spark the same motivation that you've always given me (and many others). Truly one of the greatest players to ever touch a disc and one of the best ambassadors we have for the sport in my eyes.
This made me tear up in a good way. Been following you and your journey through disc golf for many years. I can't wait to see what this next chapter brings for you and your family. Sending much love and support
It says a lot about you, Simon, and a lot about Discmania to where Discmania makes a tribute swan song disc for the moment and create a wonderful statement and video honoring the relationship you both had. Congratulations.
As others have said, people like you for you, not the brand you throw/represent. You have lifelong fans, that’s what you’ve built and worked hard for, your true fans will always support you. I’m excited and happy for you. Can’t wait to see what you throwing soon. Maybe a building the bag series?
A fresh start is important. I did the same recently by leaving something that was very comfortable and moved on to something "different" and uncertain... but I needed the change. Good luck to you Simon. I'm one of those that don't care who plays for which brand but it's always nice to see your journey unfolding throughout the years.
This is what makes you so unique..your honesty and modesty..I can't believe I almost cried watching this..love your channel. I always feel like watching a close friend. Best of luck to you! I'll be watching for your wins this season!
WOW! I'm very surprised, but if you were ever going to leave Discmania, I'm glad it was like this. I hope whoever picked you up appreciates you, supports you, and continues to inspire/motivate you. Admittedly I've never been a Discmania guy, but you quickly became my favorite disc golfer to watch anyway. I hope it is a joyful and invigorating experience for you to learn the new discs and what to throw in various situations. Good luck, have fun, and we'll keep watching!
Glad you are doing what is best for you and your family. I imagine it was a terribly hard choice to make. Right now I have a 100% Discmania bag, but I'll be making room for some Simon Lizotte molds from wherever you go.
That is sll because of YOU. You grew YOUR brand and that is why you got that offer. A lot of hard work. Good work Simone you deserve it! Thank you for inspiring to be a disc golf lover.
Level up baby! You are GOAT material. Congratulations Simon, I love watching you play it is very relaxing to kick back and watch disc after a hard day and you bangin ace after ace lol. I cannot play down here in Puerto Rico, there are not really that many courses so living vicariously. Simon my man, excited to see what the future holds for you. I can’t imagine how hard it was to make this decision but I do know that your family, friends, and fans are proud of you and excited no matter what plastic disc is in your hands. Change is never easy but sometimes that leap of faith is exactly what we need. Thanks for everything you do for the disc golf community at large, can’t wait to see what you do next. Congrats, much love and continued success to you and your family Simon!
Simon you are an icon in my eyes man! I started to disc golf around 9 years ago when you were still fresh to Discmania and from the very beginning I was always following after you. Thank you to the last decade of amazing disc golf and letting me experience the adventure with you! If you truly did follow you heart this is the right choice. Now im just curious who the crush boy will be playing for next?!

When I started playing disc golf in 2019, for obvious reasons, I wanted to learn more about this sport. So, I went onto UA-cam and one of the first results was the trick shot video with you, Paul and Brodie and ur personality was so infectious and genuine that I continued watching ur videos as I still do today. Good luck on ur future endeavors as I and many others will continue to watch ur journey.
Simon you are my 11 year old son’s absolute favorite disc golfer. We watch all your vlogs together and he wears your black and red “Sunday” shirt every Sunday. We were lucky enough to see your win at Maple Hill in person this year. The look of pure joy on his face when you lifted the trophy in victory is one of the best “father/son” moments of my life. Thank you so much for being one of the biggest influences in me starting to play disc golf again in 2016 after close to 3 years of not playing, watching that comeback at Konopiste was the coolest thing to me at the time, and I said to myself that I had to get back out and start playing again, and then seeing all the awesome stuff here on your UA-cam channel, it got me back into the gane full force again! Thank you again for being such an amazing person, father and athlete, Cheers! 🍻

This, right here, is the model of how to represent a company and how to say goodbye to them. Simon thank you so much for being the person that you are. Having a family and riding the crazy wave that disc golf is, you have to do what you have to do. Best of luck on where ever you end up!

This is far and away the best departure announcement video I've ever seen. This is oozing with class, emotion, and hope. It's all the right ingredients. Well done.
We love you Simon...Do whatever you feel you need. Family comes 1st even if it has nothing to do with it.
This is possibly the classiest announcement anyone has ever made about leaving a team. You seem like such a great person. Perfect role model.
Well I am crushed, boys. Happy for your new chapter. I know you'll keep crushing wherever you go. Thanks for everything, Simon!
The man is finding new ways to reinvent this sport every day, what a wholesome send off. Didn't know I need to cry today until after seeing him make the heart before the montage
I was not expecting that roller coaster of emotions. Congratulations on the new journey!
What a treasure Simon was for Discmania! Im sure all of us want to give our deepest gratitude for all the years! 🙏 And we all hope for your best! 😊❤️
Exciting times ahead for your and your family and we will be there cheering you on every step of the way! Much LOVE and support ❤️
Make it so
Came here to say this. It true, we love you Simon best of luck in your new adventure!
We're all happy for you Simon ! I'm a fan of Simon Lizotte not just Discmania ... Thanks for the montage and all the memories ! Still pulling for you to have the best year ever in 2023.
Best of luck Simon... us true fans will always be behind you, wherever you go.
genau !
who is his new sponsor?
The personality, the way of moving on, the way he said it, AND the way the whole community react with full understanding and support, this is what DISCGOLF is outstanding for, and it is what it is thanks to people like Simon.
What is Simon lizotte's version of the discount double check
Who is cutting onions this early in the morning?😢 Thank you Simon for growing the game and community with DM and disc golf in general. Keep it up, I wish you the best in your next chapter 🎉
Oh, man!! That montage at the end... hit me in the feels! You are such a wonderful ambassador to the sport of Disc Golf!
You're such a treasure Simon! I'm very excited for your next chapter and I wish it has everything your heart desires in it! Much love from Estonia 🫶
(Edit: The comment section made me cry out of joy for all the positive vibes.)
OMG the best video ever explaining the "In And Outs" of your thinking.
Thank you to Simon, this was obviously heartfelt, and a difficult decision. Always been a fan, and always will be.
Life is CHANGE, and Change is LIFE. Simon, you have always shown us your heart, and though I don't know you personally, I DO know your heart. It's a GOOD one, and it has served you well and delighted us ALL. Follow it wherever it may lead you.... and we'll be right there cheering you on. I wish you much success in the future, my UA-cam friend.
You have opened my eyes to the game, and just all the different looks you can have on it. How much family, and friends you can make over a disc. Love you man. Keep it up. I will keep on following your journey it's so fun to watch.
Great way to start off the new year! Its completely normal for you to be scared. A majority of people like the security of routine and aren't comfortable with change and now its time for you to take a chance on a fresh beginning and like you said, "a fresh start". We support you in everything you do Simon! Continue following your heart and Best of luck to the many years to come!
Dad Simon, being a dad awakens a part of you nothing else can. No shame in doing what's best for your family. New sponsor announcement better be coming ASAP! Worse cliff hanger ever 🤙 you earned it can't say anything more.
I’m happy for you Simon! I’m also a dad, and I know the feeling of having a kid and that feeling of wanting to turn over a new leaf. You feel like a new person and all your goals change. You are an inspiration to so many in the community.
Simon, my friends and I play weekly and constantly, thanks to you play some wild absolutely crazy shots, you truly are an inspiration to a whole lot of people. No matter where you go, or what disc you throw that isn’t going to change. I love watching you play, and look forward to watching you play for many years to come, congratulations! You deserve it!
As a finn I’m of course sad for Discmania, but you were very loyal long time member of DM and I understand that sometimes change and fresh start is needed. Thanks for very sincere video Simon and good luck in your future team.
Just a class act. Couldn't be happier for you, excited to see where your journey continues.
We’ll love you no matter where you land Simon. It’s always been you, never the company you’re with. *You* are one of a kind!
You have always been such a class act Simon and this video further strengthens this impression. I wish you all the best with your new deal!
Simon is just the picture of class and professionalism. Best of luck Simon.
Congratulations bud! Change is hard and scary, props to you!!
Thanks kid!
Life is about new adventures. And we look forward to following yours even after the Discmania chapter. 😊
God I really hope you go to Discraft, you and Paul on the same team would be incredible.
@@lostingreenbay funny that you have Green Bay in your name - you from the area? Also Discraft would be cool, but I’m hedging bets on MVP
One of my favorite golfers i have been watching since i've been playing. Best of luck to you and may God bless you in every direction going forward.
I hate change 😂 - you will be amazing wherever you go. Love everything about you as a person and a disc golfer 🎉 cheers!!
You can hear how much it means to him at the end.😢 Love you, Simon. Can’t wait to see what’s next. ❤️
Man that was a sad start on the day.
But all the best in the future will keep following
You also embody the quote from the movie Van Wilder "Never take life too seriously, you will never get out alive." the future is bright for you!
We love you Simon! Where ever you go, your fans will be there with you. You have been an incredible ambassador to the sport and I'm glad that you go a deal that helps you and your family, and that will refresh your love of the game. Can't wait for the massive announcement with the details!
Simon the rumors were brewing because we love watching you entertain us. Wherever you go we’ll follow.
It’s definitely a bit sad to see you leave Discmania, but we’re looking forward to what comes next. My son is already excited at the prospect for a potential new “Sunday” shirt . Hope to see you at the MVP Open again next year!
SOOO excited for the future, wish you all the best!
We all love the different personalities of disc golf but Simon has captured our hearts and that is something extra special
Real, honest, kind, relatable, inspiring, emotional! ...and still the most exciting player on tour. Even more so with the winning mindset.
You have inspired me to cry more often
I'm SUPER EXCITED for this move! Best of Luck, Simon! I'll always be fan of you, regardless of whoever sponsors you.
It doesn’t matter where you are, we all love YOU Simon! You are an inspiration no matter who you play for.
And I promised myself, "I wasn't gonna cry."
Bigger and better things they say, glad luck Simon and congratulations on an amazing 2022.
We're all Team Simon here. Props to you for putting in the work on tour, entertaining your fans here, and always showing us what good sportsmanship looks like.
Looking forward to this next chapter! Good luck Simon!!
I can't wait to see what the future holds for you and your family, Simon! 🍻
When Google translated your message it says "I've never had pee in my eyes" and all I gotta say is, me too. I've never had pee in my eyes either from a disc golf video, my dude.
@@Abrasumentexsame
@@mhoovair89 same, my dude.
@@mhoovair89 🤣 is it wrong that I keep laughing about "pee in my eyes" hahahahahaahhahaha
I'm not crying, there's just something in my eye...it's pee. 😄
Wow. thanks for sharing your reasons and motivation behind your epic decision. LOVED the montage at the end!!! I hope you win big this year.
I’m not crying.. you’re crying. Congrats Simon! Can’t wait to see what’s next.
This, right here, is the model of how to represent a company and how to say goodbye to them. Simon thank you so much for being the person that you are. Having a family and riding the crazy wave that disc golf is, you have to do what you have to do. Best of luck on where ever you end up!
We all have your back, no matter where you go. In this age of social media negativity, you and your channel prove that there is still room for positivity. From our family to yours, congratulations.
You'v got this, and we've got you. Wishing you all the best in everything you do. Sending good vibes and best wishes from Texas!
