Ex girl friend ha 2 white Silver Shadows in her wedding hire business, but nobody gets married on a Wednesday, so that day we swapped cars. I pissed of the guys in the office buy turning up for work in the Roller. She enjoyed her day off chucking my Alfa Romeo 2.0TS around the local countryside. Great days.
Wonderful car. They tug at the heart strings. Had a Shadow II then a Bentley Turbo R. Now looking for a Shadow 1 as I love the messy eccentric dashboard. Very 70s. The only issue I had with both cars was their breaking system. I really found it to be surprisingly very poor.
What a lovely testimonial. I'm in the USA and think when you have a car that you know to be good, and you love it, then it only makes sense to keep it. However, with this car I have a concern. My understanding in regard to this version of Rolls is that younger people have a hatred for them due to hatred of particular type of business wealth in English society. I learned this a few years back when I was enjoying a video made by a young woman car reviewer on this version of Rolls-Royce. All was fine until she drove into a city area and then people roughly between the ages of twenty to forty, began sneering, hollering vulgar remarks, and make awful hand gestures to her, upon seeing that Rolls. It was clearly political, and seemed to be coming from what we call The Left here in the USA. It seems to me that with that type of hate for a car that it isn't safe for the owner or the car. Therefore, in that case I'd have to say, sell it.
The lady makes this film so interesting, a perfect candidate for Dinner at The Ritz. Charles DeVere Ribble Valley.
How very kind of you, many thanks.
