A cool idea would be to only use 12 year olds, it would make the careers pretty much useless because most young careers still aren’t very trained and gives every district a better chance. Also it’s just super brutal.

Yeah, between the ideas of the Hunger Games, the Battle Royale game and the Squid Game, I'm not sure which concept is scarier. Squid Game is at least volunteers and offers an out if you make it through round 1. But between the Capitol oppressing the entire country by publicly sacrificing these kids each year in the games and Battle Royale's abduction of an entire class of kids to have brutally murder each other purely for entertainment, both systems are entirely fucked up and terrifying to imagine oneself in.

Ok I have to say this. Everyone always says/thinks Katniss only started liking Peeta by the end of Catching Fire with their make out on the beach before everything goes to hell. Mainly because of their shared Hunger Games Trauma. However, there are so many, all be it subtle, moments from the first and second books that would indicate her feelings are much greater than she ever admits even to herself. If you pay attention to her actions and reactions where Peeta is concerned it is completely obvious she is into him. Obviously the bread, she misses her opportunity to get to the cornucopia in the first games because she is looking at Peeta, the second she has a chance for Peeta to live she does not hesitate, in fact she shouts his name out loud, her reaction when the cannon goes off while Peeta was gathering berries, even the stunt with the berries to save them both, all she can think about is Peeta after the first games when she is in recovery, She sleeps in the same bed with him almost every night on tour, etc. What has always attracted Katniss to Peeta is his kindness and compassion. She says in the first book that kind people have a way of invading her heart and making her have the feels.(paraphrase) When it comes to Gale, first he was a total playboy in the district. He only started liking her 6months before the reaping. He NEVER shoots his shot before she leaves for the games. He is emotionally manipulative with Katniss. The only reason she ever gives him any “romantic” attention is because she worries for their friendship and when he is mad if she doesn’t reciprocate. He even gets jealous of her besties friendship with Finnick. It’s like dude, she’s just not that into you! Stop trying to make “fetch” happen, it’s not going to happen!
in mockingjay katniss only paid attention to gale when he's upset or she was trying to not think about peeta and seeks the affection peeta couldn't give her. unfair of katniss and kinda feel bad for gale for that but dude had it coming and he recognizes it lol
Actually IIRC, in the book Katniss grabs the syringe with the intention of mercy killing Peeta bc she thinks they’ve been captured by the capitol and doesn’t want him in their hands. Also in the book, we got to see Haymitch’s games, which is how Katniss first learns about the force field. Kinda wish they had kept that in, as well as the detail of Peeta taking up painting 🥺
Catching Fire was such a good book, and I used to fantasize about how the arena would look like. So seeing it come to life and look so f-ing good made me so happy. Such a good movie. Also yes, Finnick is hot, its not fair.

13:55 as someone who is gay... same. Gale and Finnick look amazing i also loved(not in the way as Gale and Finnick) Yoanna tbh, how she was willing to sacrifice literally anything to keep Katniss alive
Poor Gale is basically the Team Jacob of these movies 😂 Doesn’t bother me that you’ve seen these before as I think you pick up new things each time you watch it. Great commentary as always Ange

i havent read the books but im wanting to, and honestly the reveal of everyone being all allies and going against the capitol without katniss knowing shocked me massively and then when i rewatched it it all made sense, i honestly love this movie the best i think the idea was just amazing especially being a movie watcher before reading the books it was amazing so i cant imagine the book readers in that moment when it was revealed
This is the first movie ever where the scenes played out exactly how I envisioned them playing out in the books. Everything was so spot on and so good. My favourite movie out of them all
My fave scene that’s makes me LOL is Joanna’s private show. Add to the fact that she winks at Hamish, a middle age man. Also RIP Phillip (Heavensbee). If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend the film Twister featuring him, Bill Paxton, and Helen Hunt. ❤️🔥🏹
this was one of movies we needed to watch at school before for a movie review and i haven't even watched the first film yet lmao so i was really fascinated with this movie that after i went home from school i immediately bought the books and finished reading all of it months before the first mockingjay film was released
Peeta and Katniss' first real kiss is in the cave during the first game. Peeta was angry that she'd gone to get this medication and they argued. She realized she didn't want to lose Peeta but couldn't tell him. Peeta kisses her and she recognizes that she has feelings for him but is unable to understand because they're int he arena, Panem is watching, only one can live.etc.
I watched the movies before the books (like I saw catching fire and then ran to go read the 1st two books to get caught up for mockingjay) and I had 0 clue what was happening, I was in the dark just like Katniss lol. funnily enough I watched mockingjay part 1, then read the book up to the point where the movie left off and waited for part 2 to release in theaters because I didn’t wanna ruin the movie experience for myself
Catching fire is my favorite of the movies... I'm not going to say it's because I love finnicks character, but I'm not going to say that isn't the main reason. His story is so tragic.... the way he has to act just to survive the capital
(as a person who hasn't read the books yet) when I first watched it I had no clue about the reveal like i didnt know what was happening and I just thought it was bc shes the main chracter but now that I've rewatched it totally makes sense
Fun fact; this was the first movie I saw from the franchise. I was 10, and despite being a reader, I only read the books after watching all four movies. This is the best book-to-movie adaptation, argue with the wall
Honestly Peeta is a slytherin to me. The guy has feelings and is kind BUT he is great at manipulation and working to a plan. The baby line is LEGENDARY and he has a lot of moments like that
People wanna believe that katniss couldn’t decide between gale or peeta. They ignore the fact that katniss affection for gale is one of admiration and that they grew up together and made logical sense as they had similar interests, but she never saw him romantically, but she felt like she owed it to gale to be partners. Peeta however from the books, she showed at first that she kissed him because she wanted the audience to believe their romance, but after she kissed again she herself liked it and felt that feeling of infatuation, but once again she denies those feelings because she feels guilt about gale.
Pretty much. There is this sense of pressure to feel something for Gale on Katniss's part, I feel like, because they have known each other for so long and like you said maybe she felt like she owed him a relationship. He's always been taking care of her and her family after all and that's a huge debt to owe. But mans was never going to get out of that friendzone and he was a bit of an asshole about it too.
@@hawkins347 If I remember correctly I think someone from their UA-cam channel explained it. In conclusion gale and katniss could have ended up together and maybe have a content marriage, but it would all stem from the fact that katniss never entered the games, as that would have never led to Gale changing as he did, it would be when he was still plain and simple guy from district 12.
@@ethansolorzano5989 If it had gone that far, I can perfectly see Gale being able to cheat on Katniss over and over again, and Katniss seeking solace in Peeta. They could never have made each other happy because they forced a friendship into something more just because they thought it would be a good idea and because they were used to each other and felt it made sense. Their marriage would be more of a commitment thing and something like "what we should want." but not real love.
tbh my first times watching the hunger games series was years ago and i was a kid so my brain was stoopid i didnt put anything together i just watched it for the action. but when i grew up and watched it again i did kinda piece it together lol (i still have yet to get my hands on the books-)
Fun fact: The archer who worked with Jennifer is Georgian. Like me. Which makes me so happy!!! Here's info: "Khatuna Lorig is a Georgian archer who also represented the USA. She has used at least 3 different last names while competing in and representing various different countries. Khatuna Kvrivichvili, Soviet Union at Barcelona 1992."
Yeah so we can save Hawkins from the Russians. Turn around Look at what you see In her face The mirror of your dreams Make believe I'm everywhere Given in the light Written on the pages Is the answer to a never ending story Ahahah ahahah ahahah... Reach the stars Fly a fantasy Dream a dream And what you see will be
And the first sequel but for f*** sakes ignore the third movie that is such a pile of s*** and has nothing to do with the book The first movie and the second movie kind of sort of combined to make the book there's a lot of other b******* that was cut out from turning the book into a movie and honestly a lot of that filler in the book I think was highly unnecessary I don't like the fact that they change bastians between movies though nothing against Jonathan brandis I always liked him and pretty much everything I saw him in and then of course like a decade or so ago I googled whatever happened to him cuz I hadn't seen him in anything in a while and he was in a lot of movies when I was a kid and I found out that he killed himself
I love that a book reader is doing these reactions. But I feel like certain things about Peeta you were misinterpreting. I think he is the epitome of kindness and selflessness, clearly he loved Katniss but he was thinking purely about Gale when he got the weeping, and he really volunteered mainly to spare Haymish of going through the games at his age, I'm sure he wanted to protect Katniss as well but Haymish was his priority. Peeta was really sacrificing himself every step of the way. He was the one to ask Haymish for helping Katniss... The moment the news broke, he didn't even think of himself. Fucking love that character
You producers, script writers own me the scene where Peeta carries Katniss on his arms and explains her why Mockingjays' voices are not real 😢 that part was beautiful
omg same i actually wanna know how mags won in her game, also the morphoing who sacrificed her life for peeta is she also in the team? Like part of the ones sa riding their life for Katniss that’s why she did it? Also yes I didn’t read the books HAHAHA also are like most of them part of it except for 1 and 2?
Not going to lie finnick really threw me for a loop I got a really bad vibe about him when I first heard about him I didn't trust him as far as I could throw him through basically this entire book I was like I okay I think he's just using her for the time being that he's helping pita so she'll stay on his side and yeah things are going to separate and he's going to be turning on them any minute now and then in Mockingjay we find out so much more about him and I just my soul was crushed I was like I was so wrong about him such a good kid and he's just so torturedAnd that arrogant way he approached katniss with the sexual undertones and whatever yeah that was just a trauma response after knowing what the capital did to him he doesn't really know any other way to talk to people anymore
What happens if a District has no victors to act as mentors? Are the next pair just shit out of luck? Or is it rigged so there's always at least one winner in each district?
Well I mean the mentors essentially are just there to give them tips about the games and to get them sponsors. Haymitch for example was the 2nd person to ever win the games from district 12. But his mentor was so old that he had to basically do everything himself and had no sponsors or tips to survive. Then after his mentor died he was the only person that could help them. But mentors/victors can only choose one person individually to sponsor. Haymitch chose Katniss in hunger games 1, and insisted going back into the games because he feel like he owed it to peeta.
Also the games are not rigged, they are just heavily based on knowledge and resources. For example district 1 and 2 are basically the ones with the most winners given that their closest to the capital.
I hadn’t read the books and when I watched this I was so confused and highkey had no idea what was going on the entire time (I’m also very stupid so that probably had something to do with it)
from what i remember of The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire: they're all written in first-person, right? and i always thought that the first movie didn't/couldn't do a good job translating all of the inner monologue, ya know? but Catching Fire was so cinematic, AND since Katniss was in the dark about the plan.. J.Law had an easier job acting her part for the story, for the audience. nice commentary 🙂
Hi! Not sure if you take suggestions for reactions however there is a critically underrated movie called red shoes and the seven dwarfs (the first trailer came out around 5 years ago but don’t watch the trailers, they’re really misleading and give the opposite message in relation to the movie) whoever was in charge of the advertisements really wanted the movie to fail- and unfortunately the movie didn’t get a lot of attention Even though the animation is absolutely amazing (Disney level stuff) and the message is even better. It’s basically Snow White and the seven dwarfs but with a completely different story and a great message for the audience (the only similarity is the name of the main character, Snow White, and dwarfs existing)
It was a great movie! But i didn't get what President Snow wanted katniss to do when he met her in the start of the movie. Did he want her to convince him that she will kill herself for love? So he doesn't harm her family. If that's true then was she supposed to kill herself after the that tour and how? Just didn't understand what thar meant
He wanted Katniss to convince him that she was in love with Peeta. He knew that she wasn't so if she could pretend well enough that he believed her feelings to be real, she'd also convince the Districts and prevent the rebellion.
Please react to the Gotham tv series, it ran for 5 seasons and it's about Bruce Wayne as a child before he became Batman, the show also creates their own origin stories for Batman's enemies like the Joker, Scarecrow, Bane etc. It was a fantastic show
Yeah yeah Peeta was totally talking out his ass but he knew what he was doing katniss was 100% of Virgin she had never really even kissed a guy except him in the thing as a way to survive and then kind of as a little test with Gale she had no interest in any sort of romantic relationship because she had bigger things to do like keep her sister alive and she didn't want to possibly have children so she was never planning on having sex you know as to bring another child into this world where it would possibly be sacrificed in The hunger games and by the way the victors their children are not immune they go into the reaping just like anyone else granted their names are probably not in that many times because being part of Victor's village they would be essentially local royalty they would be the richest people in their region so they would not need anything else from the capital so they would not ever put their names in more than required but yeah I wonder really how many of the Victor's children have died in the games and you know I know they're s***** people and all that but just for a minute think of cashmere and gloss their parents knowing that they have not only had their children go into the hunger games before and by some miracle came back alive now both of them are going into this hunger game meaning the only way one of them is coming back is this the other one doesn't
Hey I'm not usually someone to bother people over little grammar things or whatever, but this is a huge run on sentence to the point where it's hard to read. I'm actually only saying this because, from what I could understand, you had some interesting things to say and I want people to read and understand it. A little punctuation would really help you.

This movie played exactly how I imagined it in my mind, reading the book
13:55 as someone who is gay... same. Gale and Finnick look amazing
i also loved(not in the way as Gale and Finnick) Yoanna tbh, how she was willing to sacrifice literally anything to keep Katniss alive
I used to play the catching fire arena in minecraft survival games back in the day
Poor Gale is basically the Team Jacob of these movies 😂 Doesn’t bother me that you’ve seen these before as I think you pick up new things each time you watch it. Great commentary as always Ange
Nah fam petah was clearly the better choice from the get go. He was more Jacob. It’s complete bs she gave up her human life to be with a undead being
Can't wait to see your reaction to this film!
I loved hearing your reactions as I felt the same after reading the books and first watching these movies back when they came out. Need to reread them now! 🔥✨
Always loving your reactions
One of my favourite series!
You’ll probably never see this but I’m absolutely loving your video I just binged. Twilight and just a six park. Your so funny. Calming. Your knowledge on boooks and media is so refreshing. Thank you !
i havent read the books but im wanting to, and honestly the reveal of everyone being all allies and going against the capitol without katniss knowing shocked me massively and then when i rewatched it it all made sense, i honestly love this movie the best i think the idea was just amazing especially being a movie watcher before reading the books it was amazing so i cant imagine the book readers in that moment when it was revealed
"If it wasn't for the baby."
That was the line that makes me respect Peeta. He made the capitol hate the capitol
Peeta kisses her and she recognizes that she has feelings for him but is unable to understand because they're int he arena, Panem is watching, only one can live.etc.
i'm more of a movie watcher than a reader i tend to remember more by watching a movie than reading a book
Thank you for being honest and letting us know that you watched it before
I saw all the movies in the theaters as well. Great movies and enjoyed the commentary.
Thanks for the breakdown of the movie Ang!😄
Fun fact; this was the first movie I saw from the franchise.
I was 10, and despite being a reader, I only read the books after watching all four movies.
This is the best book-to-movie adaptation, argue with the wall
I watched this without reading the book and I didn't figure the twist out because I was too busy falling in love with Finnick
Honestly Peeta is a slytherin to me. The guy has feelings and is kind BUT he is great at manipulation and working to a plan. The baby line is LEGENDARY and he has a lot of moments like that
Both this book and this flim are my favorite of the series!! :)
Awesome movie choice Angelina😀!
tbh my first times watching the hunger games series was years ago and i was a kid so my brain was stoopid i didnt put anything together i just watched it for the action. but when i grew up and watched it again i did kinda piece it together lol (i still have yet to get my hands on the books-)
peeta is definitely a slytherin and katniss a puff 🥺
Thank you for pointing out the "uncomfortable" ending. That leads to a very uncomfortable start to the next one.
DUDE Snow it's a TERRIFYING villain, the most cruel I've ever seen
Please watch THE NEVERENDING STORY.
Yeah so we can save Hawkins from the Russians.
Turn around
Look at what you see
In her face
The mirror of your dreams
Make believe I'm everywhere
Given in the light
Written on the pages
Is the answer to a never ending story
Ahahah ahahah ahahah...
Reach the stars
Fly a fantasy
Dream a dream
And what you see will be
And the first sequel but for f*** sakes ignore the third movie that is such a pile of s*** and has nothing to do with the book The first movie and the second movie kind of sort of combined to make the book there's a lot of other b******* that was cut out from turning the book into a movie and honestly a lot of that filler in the book I think was highly unnecessary I don't like the fact that they change bastians between movies though nothing against Jonathan brandis I always liked him and pretty much everything I saw him in and then of course like a decade or so ago I googled whatever happened to him cuz I hadn't seen him in anything in a while and he was in a lot of movies when I was a kid and I found out that he killed himself
I cannot wait to see the portrayal of young president snow in this new movie
Hell yes for a Pride and Prejudice commentary!
You producers, script writers own me the scene where Peeta carries Katniss on his arms and explains her why Mockingjays' voices are not real 😢 that part was beautiful
I fucking love how Johanna is saying what we're all thinking
When this franchise first came out, it must've been annoying AF to guy's Peter to have endure being called "Petah" for like 5yrs?😂😂
Please watch the STAR TREK movies! 🖖
Vander be warned about morning kisses. Ange ain’t about that wake up 🤣🤣🤣.
Wild to compare Joana to Lydia from P&P
Hope you continue with the hunger games series 🥰 also have you read the new prequel songbirds and snakes??
At first I read this as Hungover games.. Which you should def watch 🤣🤣
one of the guys in the movie plays reacher now.
First,Can't Wait!!!
22:05 i was very confused
Peeta was the one who painted Rue on the floor ?!?
Yes
Yeah, his skill is painting/cake decorating.
omg same i actually wanna know how mags won in her game, also the morphoing who sacrificed her life for peeta is she also in the team? Like part of the ones sa riding their life for Katniss that’s why she did it? Also yes I didn’t read the books HAHAHA also are like most of them part of it except for 1 and 2?
Hey 👋 I love your reaction videos 🥰
So i watched this in cinemas without reading the books. And little 15 year old me had no idea what was going on ngl.
Damn luvvvly Miss Ange 👍🏼👊🏼
Just realised the new Jack Reacher actor played Gloss
RIP to Donald Sutherland he'll be so missed :(
My first impression of Finicky was chiseled guy must be an a$$hole to Katniss, but he was not.
I hadn’t read the books and when I watched this I was so confused and highkey had no idea what was going on the entire time (I’m also very stupid so that probably had something to do with it)
Do you know what’s going on now?
from what i remember of The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire: they're all written in first-person, right? and i always thought that the first movie didn't/couldn't do a good job translating all of the inner monologue, ya know? but Catching Fire was so cinematic, AND since Katniss was in the dark about the plan.. J.Law had an easier job acting her part for the story, for the audience.
nice commentary 🙂
Susan Collins is the ultimate Game Maker😎
You should do a few reviews. Second watch of things
He knew that she wasn't so if she could pretend well enough that he believed her feelings to be real, she'd also convince the Districts and prevent the rebellion.
lol they did fight
:D For Ange's algorithm
Please react to the Gotham tv series, it ran for 5 seasons and it's about Bruce Wayne as a child before he became Batman, the show also creates their own origin stories for Batman's enemies like the Joker, Scarecrow, Bane etc. It was a fantastic show
24:56 Who are the ppl on the left?
OKAY BUT SEND THE FANFICS THIS WAY TOWARDS ME PLEASE
Broken Dam on AO3 if you're in the market for some post-canon Gale x Johanna
