- Please note that the sound may seem out of sync at points, but that is actually down to the game or ROM, instead of the recorder for once.
Sorry if you cannot read the text for the fourth Episode ending. I can't record PCs game so well, thanks to my useless computers.
A remake of this video is now out: • Creepy Bad Endings Rem...
Bad Endings. I don't know about anyone else, but they terrify me. Just when the hero(es) thought everything was finally right, just when it looked like peace had finally returned to the world/city/etc, something had to happen that, at best, creates a bitter sweet victory and, at worst, spoils everything and the enemies win after all your struggles. Sure, Game Overs CAN be scary too, but more often than not, all you'll get when you run out of lives is a simple "Game Over" message, possibly with the option to try again. Bad endings don't give you any second chances, you screwed things up for everyone and you must pay dearly...

"You clamber to the edge of the moon"?
Doom Guy: So badass that he finds edges on spherical objects.
Agent 005 it isn't?
No. Both of Mars' moons are shaped more like asteroids.
The Ugly Barnacle True.
What I want to know is, how did all those demons get to the moon if it was in the air over hell in the first place? They clearly couldn't reach it from the surface.
Don't you mean so edgy that he finds edges on spherical objects?
While most people were genuinly freaked out about the rabbit head, you wanna know what i freaked out about?
The rabbit head scared the crap outta me, but what scared me even more was DOOM transitioning to the grassy fields.
just seeing the friggin grassy happy place is really super eerie. the head only added to it.
+TheSkypetube
*thud*
+creeperfriendlyhugs I remember when my dad showed me this. We just laughed about it.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?! Thats Cruel!
Whispering Macarac they laughed because it was so unexpected
The music too
Actually, the bad endig was originaly there for the shareware version which is only Episode 1. It tells you at the end that you have to buy the full game if you don't want it to end like this.
Good to know.
Trust me you aren't
Yeah, now that I remembered
Ea meme before Ea was Ea!
@WaBlox D i was joking but ok... Fact accepted..
in a more heroic ending, Nintendo makes Doom Guy stay in hell to make sure no demon emerges again.
Unfunny sonic avatar meme cancer But is the canon ending for the Doom marine...until now, that Doom 4 exists
wait… ..isn't that the ending for doom 64?
@Repeater Griffin Compare to the ending of Doom 1: full-on demonic invasion of Earth.
@@FloreyXE Yes, and it's canon in Eternal.
Well that doom 64 ending not doom 1991ending
Actually, without that ending, there would be no reason to Doom Guy go to back to Hell and kill Devil himself A.K.A. Jhon Romero.
Sorry but it's John not jhon
@@jaded_piper Typo
Well, its not necessarily the devil itself considering doom eternal lore now, the demon in doom 2 is the: icon of sin
@@notarealspy4090 We know that the devil itself is the Icon of Sin but some devolopers of the game hid John Romero's face in Icon of Sin without telling him but he noticed the easter egg and added another easter egg by making a backwards message that says "To win the game you must kill me, John Romero"
@@supastahwarriah3306 I know that already, not sure why you wanted to write a well known Easter egg
We may have saved the world. But we'll never get poor Daisy the rabbit back. SNIFF why do the adorable always die young!
Don't be sad, if you see this you will find Daisy in the new and improved Doom Eternal as an Easter egg.
I believe the Doomguy still dies at the end of Episode 1 no matter what, according to the game's story. Deimos is literally in Hell, so Doomguy has died and gone to hell at the end.
But he's so impossibly badass that he beats up every fuckin' demon he sees and then Hell itself no longer wants him there and lets him go home, after he kills the Spider demon.
Also, in Doom 64's ending (technically not canon) Doomguy chooses to spend eternity in hell to making sure that no demons arise to terrorize humanity again.
ᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚ I always thought he got teleported to Hell after stepping on that teleport thing that was connected to Deimos which was already in Hell at the time. But I guess your explanation kinda explains all the demons shooting and biting him when he steps on the teleport thing.
rafa bruce lachman It's pretty ambiguous and an often ignored detail in the plot, which is understandable as Doom was never really heavy on story. It can be inferred that he dies after being attacked both from the abrupt cut-out of what happens afterward and the text in the intermission screen between the episodes, but it isn't described in detail that he was killed.
ᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚ Still it might be the answer to one of my childhood mysteries: "What was with all the demons that slaughter you at the end of the episode? Why are you still alive in the next episode?"
BTW I watched my dad play doom back then cause I was such a scaredy cat at the time XD. I didn't play it for myself until I got over my fear of the horror genre and that was 4 years ago.
For me Doom 64 is the true Doom 3, more canon for me...and really good
+ᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚ
Spending eternity in Hell to help everyone.
Yup, that's Doomguy.
*Not even the f%$#ing Master Chief can preform a task such as that.*
Personally I really like the ending of Doom, especially because of the music.
It starts off so nice and peaceful...
Then shifts into eerie as the city is shown...
And when Daisy’s Head is finally in full view, the music goes back to the guitar riffs of doom, basically saying “The demons came back from hell, time for you to give them hell.”
Having never played any DOOM game, I was just waiting for the jumpscare to pop out at the end. I'm glad they didn't take that route, but it left me feeling more depressed than frightened like most people. You just can't win.
Doom was never about scares and horror cliche's. DOOM is about kicking ass and making your demon your bitches.
because there are, they just aren't very popular, and don't make as much cash as shitty ones in a popular series I.E. CoD
Tell me a single part. A SINGLE DAMN PART where Doom has jumpscares.
Yes, sure, there are some cheap surprise attacks from doors suddenly opening and letting loose demons on you, but it never releases them on your face nor do they start screeching in your ears to frighten you. Doom doesn't need that to "scare" you.
I know, that "look at this happy image and hear the happy music " thing just screams for a jumpscare. Was happy that there wasn't one
@@Burn_Angel even doom 3 didn't do that.
Rappel from moon to hell... only the Doom Guy.
Doom Guy looks like the player from Wolfenstin: The new order.
Doom Guy is Brazilian! HUEHUEHUE!
Ethan Edwards Word of God states that B.J and Doom Guy are related to each other so it makes sense.
In an image from the campaing in one of the versions you can actually see Deimos chained to hell, so yeah
+DarkSlimeGod That means that since the main character of Commander Keen is B.J. Blazkowicz's grandson, then Commander Keen is related to Doom Guy as well.
The first time I saw this (in the video, I don't have the game) I thought Daisy had mutated into some sort of hellspawn demon. Now that I know that they just stuck her head on a spear like the French Revolution or something, it's not scary to me anymore.
Man, I'm weird.
Well the first time I saw it, I thought it killed Doom guy
The first time i saw it, i thought it was Daisy's body.
The Doom ending with the rabbit head was literally mentally scarring. I still shudder...
Nikolas Mitsugui
Mhmm. I'm like 24 now and 20 years ago I first saw that Doom screen. Ugh. STILL scars me. Tried so hard to get over it.
Coming back to this video 8 years later. This time with an appreciation of the music shift in the ending.
The funny thing about episode 2 is that in the PC version, it shows you an image of Deimos being attached to the surface of hell by an enormous chain, so rappelling down kind of makes sense, since it implies you climbed down the chain. This version of Doom doesn't show that image, so it gives the impression that you somehow climb off of a moon and down onto the planet it' s orbiting.
everyone: why is doomguy so ANGRY!?
doomguy: her name was daisy...
No matter the ending one thing is sure. Master Chief? Jason? Micheal Myers? Nope. Doom Guy will always be the #1 Badass in gaming history.
+DreamyNightmare Doomguy commited genocide *on the population of Hell*
While also RUNNING the entire time with an inventory full of rockets and plasma and bullets weighing hundreds of kilos
And he's just a generic space marine
DreamyNightmare DOOM Guy went to hell and back :)
Samus just destroyed a crater, not killing any Demons :))
Master chief invited going to hell and back, deal with it
Master Chief hasn't done SHIT in comparison to Doomguy's exploits
PeturwemsLibrary
Eh kills aleins and doesnt afraid of anything.
I remember being scarred by Daisy's head the first time I saw it.
Now, having played and completed the first three episodes of DOOM, I appreciate it for the hardcore call to action it is.
After all, before this, they simply had to deal with a rampaging human who Hell itself cannot contain. Now they have to deal with that same human, but _royally pissed off._ Time to rip some ugly pink bastards a new asshole.
I heard the music on the part after chapter 3 and I was like NOPENOPENOPENOPE and closed the video.
Potato. Just Potato What age did you have then?
If you haven't seen the full ending yet, don't worry. It's not a jumpscare. They only did jumpscares when bathesda bought out ID and made DooM 3 (A.K.A. the game that from what I heard is a piece of shit).
@@charbomber110 doom 3 is a masterpiece wtf and bethesda only made 4 and 5
@@aagh8714 Bethesda may of MADE 3 and 4, but they still bought ID for 3, or at least that's what I've heard. And Again, I only heard that DooM 3 sucks, and I kinda believe it given the description.
@@charbomber110 doom 3 had the best lighting system of any game when it came out, plus its a great action horror
Doom's final ending on PC looks to me to be more of the "A hero's work is never done" kind of ending to me.
In other words, I consider it more of a "Creepy GOOD ending" since technically it's a victory ending and, obviously, at least a little bit creepy.
Dead Space, now THAT's a creepy game, win, lose, or draw. Not so much the sequel, and DEFINITELY not the 3rd one (dumbed down and sugar-coated compared to the other two), but that first one gave me nightmares a few times.
Also, LOL at the end clip. Apparently the Cyberdemon never heard of concepts like "Splash damage" or "Minimum safe distance".
I loved using the chaingun in this version. It sounds like its popping popcorn :D
In the SNES version the sound chip in the console is unable to play the chaingun constantly. So when you fire you get sporadic sounds that sound like popcorn being made.
Doom Guy: The greatest badass in gaming history
NICE FUCKING MODEL
Heh, one thing I do remember is playing Knee deep in the dead in I'm too young to die difficulty just to see what happens.
You can actually survive that last attack and kill all the demons, but it's just the same ending. I've tried on PC tho.
But I thought I might as well show the other endings whilst I was talking about Doom, especially since the Episode 3 ending is so darn creepy.
Idk why but the rabbit creeps me out and the music
This was my very first bad ending I've ever experienced. 8 years old, kicking butt at hurt me plenty and realising how horrifying games can be.
Holy crap.
The rabbit head scared me. XD
It didn't affect me, I don't really care.
@@catpetsocool8111 i know doom was a dark game but i definitely not expected a fricking rabbit head on a stick
Blowing up demons that are trying to rip you apart is alot less violent than a tiny bunny head. I loved that ending theme's transition to creepy, though. xD
I had nightmares from that ending when I got the collectors doom pack for PC when I was younger. I cheated and got to the final level to see the endings ;D.
What? I've evolved from that.
Ah that episode 1 ending, it totally freaked me out when I was a little kid. I was too scared to play the game, that I always use "iddqd", and that doesn't work in that final dark place. I was like what the hell happened? Why did I die? I can't see anything!! And until now, I never went back to that Doom 1 ever.
Holy Austin, that sudden change in the music...
Ever since i watched this video, i always play on Ultraviolence or Nightmare modes... creepy endings are not my thing
Demons: **kills Daisy**
Doom Guy: You have officially gone too far!
I love the music transition on the end screen
I loved the ending to Doom when I played it as a kid :P
I always figured the doom guy would just pick up his BFG and keep killing.
Personally, this ending doesn't scare me. I would tell you why: Although i never played doom since i was born verry late in the 90's,I can tell that doom is a dark game. So this kind of ending would you expect to see.
I can see why others freak out when they see the rabbit: the face of the rabbit stares down at your eyes while its dead, a rabbit head on a stick and some blood. No wonder they turned the game off in the middle of the night when they completed the game.
+F.U.C.K Breh I'm watching this at 1:30 am ;)
@A B It's a stick; the hairy thing that seems to be holding it up is the rest of the rabbit.
That bunny was a bit * puts on sunglasses* doomed. YEAAAA
08.49 First watership down, and now this!
So... with the fact that there's no real "good" ending to Doom, with the first chapter at least, is that how they came up with the title? i.e. you're doomed?
You were doomed from the start, so it wouldn't matter in the slightest.
No, the name came from a scene from a movie with, uh... what's his name? The jump on couches guy? Tom Cruise! That's the guy, yeah, it was a scene in the Color of Money where he takes out a pool stick and calls it doom.
I... idunno, ask John Carmack about it, it was his idea.
+RoqueFortStu
Nope, there's sequels to that.
*And I bet he's going to get his revenge for Daisy.*
@@princessmaly Nope, it was a suitcase, a guy asked what was in a suitcase and this guy was like "doom" and that was pretty much the scene.
"Only *I* have the brains to rule Lylat!" From; Spiderdem- wait wait, wrong series, shoot.
“Well, what did you expect in a video game? A happy ending?”
i love the music ;D flute and chan chan chan!!!
Demons: *kill Daisy*
Doomguy: SO YOU HAVE CHOSEN DEATH
Ah watching ghee give me such a sense of nostalgia
In a previous attempt, this happened...
*blows himself up*
Pauses video for a 15 minute long laughing fit...
The demons killed Doomguy's pet rabbit, big mistake
Doomguy: Felt cute, might rip and tear some demons
@Dinker27 This isn't the last episode of the series, I've got plenty more planned, so I may check those games out and put their endings in later episodes.
Man, I really love your styles.
Honestly before looking at the rabbit on the spike. I though the spike was the neck of an undead demon llama thing looking at the screen.
I always Questioned: ¿Why the hell is the Spider Mastermind the final boss? I Mean, I Know that is the last boss of the game, but is even More easy than the Cyberdemon.
And if you dont believme, Just make this: Kill the Cyberdemon with the BFG9000 (Big Fuckin Gun) And it will take like 3, 4 or Even more shots if you are playing in Hardest difficulties, but the Spider Mastermind it will take less shots. And is more easier, because it has a minigun, and the C.demon has a rocket Launcher. And this last weapon is more powerfull. Just make that the Spider Bastard fights with the Baron of Hell and the 2 Cacodemons, one shot With the BFG, And that's All, You Beated The ultimate Doom!
If you will assault the bosses with strafes,The SpiderDemon will be harder.
It's because Spider Mastermind is the leader of the demons and that makes him the final boss. His death was a greater loss than the Cyberdemon's. Cyberdemon was just a field warrior.
Zieli Also their difficulty varies with the situation. In close combat both are king. But in longer ranges, The spidermind is the only real threat...
...unless you dont know how to strafe.
Yup, I agree.
Daisy had an unusually long neck for a rabbit...
I don't think any first person shooter protagonist will ever beat Doomguy/Flynn Taggart. I mean, holy fucking shit, he literally went into Hell and back, and utterly RUINED HELL doing it!
Well there is the Master Chief the DooM Guy with a little bit more personality. He did stop an army of aliens from activating the halo ring and then destroyed it along with a bunch of zombies. Not to forget about how he fell from outer space into earth... landed on hard rocks and was mowing down aliens with a Assault Rifle 5 mins. after waking up.
When you say "a little bit more" you really mean it. Master Chief has little personality other than having armor, a deep voice, and a gun.
xxjermxx70 yet he doesnt have as much pussy power armor.
THEKNOWNMODDER If we were to make the assumption that the covenant are two times as hard as the foes of DooM guy, with Chief facing the same numbers of foes...Master Chief is wearing exactly what DooM guy would bring to fight the covenant.
xxjermxx70 but fall 10 meters into water and die - halo logic
"I've beaten the Bruiser Brothers now to--"
_gets teleported and gets beaten to a pulp_
"...the fuck."
So that's why Doom Guy is ripping demons in half in Doom 2016, they killed his favorite pet bunny...
Those monsters remind me of the aliens from Shadow the Hedgehog
NiGHTS 06 You just HAD to bring that up.
+NEON 7 oh whatever (why the fuck did it take me so long to reply 😂)
Kira Dark キラダーク
I could care less about how long it takes you to reply to someone 'cuz you have a life just like everyone el- AUGUST 13, 2015?! Geez, where does the time go!?
But yeah, they do look like them. *sigh*
I guess shadow the heaghog was a really big fan of doomguy
Five years... What the hell
Might wanna mention the DOS Prompt in the 32x version of Doom lol
then you play episode 4 and discover this rabit was your pet, then shits happen for the demons... Doomguy is mad and he'll rip and tear the bads!
Well, err.... Sort of equal footing, the big ol' Cyber doesn't take splash damage, so the rocket only does about half of it's normal damage to him.
SNES Doom uncensored and GBA Doom censored is very ironic. I believe the ending screen got removed due to limitations.
PSX Doom is split into two games which each play as a single long episode. There is no intermission text, that only happens when you beat each game and the text is read out to you by a creepy, mocking voice.
awesome video!
I was never able to beat doom... not even the 3 one D:
that censored ending...
That tops ToS2;s bad ending on the creepy scale. I didn't think that was possible.
rip Daisy
@jetforcesoldier I know, aren't the PC version and Dos version the same? Whether or not the SNES version is inferior is not the point, though. The only Creepy Bad Ending of the video is the Episode 1 end on "I'm Too Young To Die", which only happens in the SNES version.
10:00 key word "had."
Back in the day, I remember that the scariest thing in doom was that "end of episode" music. Y'know, in the PC version? That shit gave me nightmares. I did get nightmares of rabbits after seeing the ending, but it wasn't as bad as the nightmares I got for the music. Don't worry, I'm not scared anymore. Of either I mean.
Lub Lub is not a person, and is therefore not worth getting angry about.
@Hauntzor SNESX9 Emulator's recording feature, though you might have to use an older version, because the newest one kept crashing when I tried to record footage with it.
1:05 - 1:07
Guy walks in, "Oh he's already dead see ya"
Go's back in
Dude, the music in this game is awesome!
I always thought doom guy ripped a bunny's head off, but nope, THOSE DEMON BASTERDS ARE GONNA PAY FOR THIS!
You should check out the Game Over for Death Duel.
That can scar a kid for life.
You know what I find even worse? The dead rabbit? That was doomguys pet, Daisy. That being said. Imagine his satisfaction seeing the icon of sin's demise.
Fobos and deimos only have a legh of 15 miles, but with that bases looks so big
Deimos can't be that big.
Exactly. Expect that the Demo version still shows the intermission text.
Ah "nobody told me about id" classic song!
Everyone knows about all the other stuff they cut to get it onto a SNES cart, but by God I think you're the only person who suffered through long enough to see the difference in the ending to Knee-Deep In The Dead.
That Doom easy ending is also the ending you get if you play through the freeware demo of Doom.
This is canon, you get kidnapped by the demons and taken to the Deimos base, however this bad ending, they don't even let you live...
**You can only make out one word... and that word is.... Daisy...**
I just love the idea of the demons being so furious with doom guy, that they go and kill his pet bunny, only to realize later that it was a dumb idea and they should leave revenge plans to the higher demons because YOU, DO NOT, FUCK, WITH THE DOOM GUY!
The rabbit is scary but you have to admit the music is badass
Wow... not only did they censor the bunny ending but they also censored the ending text. In the PC version, it says "The loathsome spiderdemon has had it's ass kicked for all time," but in the SNES version, well... look at it yourself.
Some times I get lost and give up in doom, castle wolfenstein and medal of honor.
Doom (SNES Ver)- E1M9- Hiding The Secrets
I like to say the final paragraph of the Level 3 finish in a sarcastic voice.
It is a book called "Of Mice and Men." It is about 2 people who wants to own a farm and have rabbits, read it cause its sad yet awesome.
Then came Doom 2: Hell on Earth, my favorite FPS game of all time.
I also had nightmares about that bad ending with that bunny head with the burning City? Or...what?
ah, yes censoring a game that wasn't even meant for kids. Classic nintendo
At the end he blew himself up "SILLY FOOL!"
Eh, yes it do happen in EVERY version. At the end of Knee-deep in the Dead, you enter the portal and it takes you to Deimos where you are imidiately butchered by demons without any chance of survival. The depressing song itself is called "Sign of Evil", a song awesome in so many ways.
But if you really want a depressing / creepy end, check out Doom 64.
Fun fact about the second boss: he's huge, so he has huge guts.
I believe the bad ending also appears in the fridge version of the game
*Imagine being born in the 1990's and when your dad gives you a playstation it has doom on it*
It's a quote about rabbits from a book with mice in the title. They never said anything about rabbits being mice.
wow creepy music at the right time
I know it's late but eh.
0:33 I've heard once that he's not really unnamed. His name is probably Stan Blazkowicz. Yep, descendant to BJ and Commander Keen.
4:24 Oh, it's that song so common in sonic .EXE games.
that song is so badass for a game focused on """""""""""""""horror"""""""""""""""
I swear after i heard what you said im gonna blow that rotten hedgehog in my nightmares.
Doom is not just a kids game. No,it is a MAN'S GAME. AIN'T NO WAY YOU GONNA JUST BEAT THE GAME WITHOUT SOMETHING TO HORRIFY YOUR DREAMS YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT LIKE A MAN!
Yoshi's Island is way manlier, man.
Just think about it. You're a FUCKING NEARLY-INVINCIBLE DINOSAUR GOING TO HELL AND BACK AND DEVOURING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT JUST TO REUNITE SOME BABIES, CULIMINATING IN A FIGHT AGAINST WHAT IS PRETTY MUCH GODZILLA ON STEROIDS, WHILE THE HELLISH CASTLE CRUMBLES BEFORE YOU.
Not to mention the game is hard as all hell in its final and bonus levels.
And NO, I DID NOT USE WAY TOO MUCH CAPS.
HOLY SHIT YES YOU ARE SO RIGHT
Yoshi is fucking better.
lol
yoshi gots the powers!!!
Aw yeah.
