I found asos so hit or miss. Some things fit perfectly, some too big, some too small. I always find myself wishing they had reviews so you could see if other people found items too big, small or true to size.

Katie, I nearly started crying when I watched this. Bloody ASOS have crappy sizing, , that's def not a curve range!!! You rocked that black slip dress and the denim dress was super cute on you too.

It is not ASOS most of the time. They have different brands on their website.

Their returns policy is the best where they refund you as soon as the parcel is scanned by Auspost when you return your clothing you don't want

Holy crap this is the most real, honest video you have made. I love how raw you were because this is how people feel everyday. I ended up crying today over a pair of jeans that didn’t fit and were a size up from my usual dress size!! But you are so right, it’s not on to make people feel that they are too “fat” to fit their clothing. Especially when you do everything you can to make sure you have followed size charts. Keep doing what you do, you have just made me feel less alone. Thank you.

Ohh honey when you started crying because you were so frustrated I wanted to reach through the screen and give you the biggest hug. You are right though *IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE* Sending you the biggest #virtualhug
I’m also a plus size Aussie girl and online shopping can be a bloody nightmare!

Me too. I felt for you. It's happened to me too. A couple of weeks ago I bought a white playsuit and white jeans from ezibuy their plus size range Sara and it was too tight, i had to return it. Not impressed when I like you checked the sizing chart and it's the plus or curve style so you'd think it's made especially. Big hugs Katie. We love you. On the positive side you cracked up with the things you said about the white shirt.

I hate womens sizing. My husband can go into store and grab a pair of jeans or a large t-shirt and know it will fit him. It annoys me so much that i have no idea what I actually wear because every brand is so fd up with sizing.

When I was plus size, I found the same problem with ASOS. Strangely, since losing weight, I haven't had any sizing issues with them. It makes me think that they just haven't worked out what they are doing or who that are catering for in the Plus range.

I relate to this so much, I mean the fact I cant go into a "normal" store as a size 20 and find things in Womens clothing is bad enough but online is even harder not being able to try it first is so beyond frustrating 😔 we need universal sizing so bad!

  • @justkillthemwithkindness6745
    @justkillthemwithkindness6745 3 роки тому +16

its amazing how all the body positivity in the world goes flying out the door when the sizing is bloody WRONG! This is what's wrong with sizing with 99% of brands, and why i don't shop online very much. I am size 16 at kmart, 14 at target, and 18-20 in Zara DIFFERENCE i know what size to go for and dont end up in tears like katie... girl i can relate, BUT this is a body positive problem by no means its universal for sizing in general... just seems to hit hard when you spends months getting your mental health under control and its undone with a mail delivery.... thumbs up girl xxx

I still love myself, I’m crying out of frustration that plus size women are damned if we do and damned if we don’t. The tears have nothing to do with the love for my body. ❤️

  • @SameehPickles
    @SameehPickles 3 роки тому +4

Sending so many hugs to you, my heart sank when you were reduced to tears and I've definitely been there too.
My size has changed over the years too and I've been struggling with my weight and bloating caused by a condition I have. Ive been shopping online a lot this lockdown and have had some great success with Missguided. I have a lot of shame around being an apple shape with heavy bloating and I have found their sizing to be amazing for my current body so far.
Its so hard to come away from an experience where you just don't fit anything in a store or something youve taken time to purchase and not feel upset. I hope your next haul is much better for you.

This is thr first video I have seen of yours, and I have to tell you. I am so glad I found it. You honestly and vulnerability is so real and I started crying with you as I have felt those emotions so many times. Although, clothes are becoming more available as the years go by, it is still a struggle to find stores that carry items that are fashionable and fit plus sized. I wholeheartedly feel your struggle so much and I want you to know that you did still look gorgeous in those 2 dresses and the skirt, that denim dress was amazing and I barely noticed the buttons. You have a beautiful figure. I am so happy I found such a relatable and honest UA-cam content maker and I look forward to viewing more of your videos. Thank you so much!

Keep up the amazing work!! Much love Katherine x

This video came up in my reccomended videos and I'm so glad it did! You are about my size and online shopping is always a hit or miss for me. I just got an order today from a store and 3 out of 4 items fitted (the 3 were the websites brand) and the item that didnt was from another brand that they sell on their store. The item didn;t even say it was a different brand! And the sizing chart was the same.
You have gained a new subscriber today, and I am going to binge watch a bunch of your videos now.

i relate to this video so much i’ve had a lot of frustrating times where the sizing is inconsistent or the size charts are wrong/non existent and as someone who’s a size 12/14 it can be so much work trying to make sure the sizing will be right... i’m glad you spoke up about this & how companies need to get it together because the struggle is real for us when it shouldn’t be that hard for them to put effort into making sure their clothes are true to size... (ps. i’m so happy i found your channel you’re beautiful inside and out & i’m looking forward to watching more of ur videos 💖)

I feel like a massive issue with online shopping is that they don’t have the sizing chart for a certain category like jeans, coats etc. they only have general sizing for bottoms, and tops and maybe jumpers. Because I can never find the sizing chart for jeans especially on boohoo. I’ve ordered off boohoo and I checked my measurements, and did their ‘ size chart checker thing which tell you what size of clothing you need. It tried to tell me a size 28 wouldn’t fit me ! I was gobsmacked. Yet I ordered jeans in a size 26 thinking they would be tight as. Turns out they were like 3-4 sizes too big. (( I normally wear a size 18-20 In the clothing that I wear )) . So it’s so stupid how the sizing charts can be way off.
I know things can get hard with body image but I think you look smashing girl. Keep up your confidence because you help me push to wear more clothes out of my comfort zone. And I’m in Sydney ❤️❤️

Thank you for showing your vulnerability, it really helps those of us who aren't as brave as you. This is one of the worst feelings and unfortunately I have had it often as I have an odd shape. We should be able to trust the measurements given to us by brands who market "curve" ranges of clothing. As an aside, you looked stunning in everything that did fit and I find you really inspiring!

ASOS is the best hun give it another go, the trick is to use the fit guide on the app (read product info for jeans because they sell so many non-stretch) if the curve model is wearing a size 18 and it looks baggy, it’s safe....if it looks tight and she’s wearing an 18 danger!
I’ve been shopping there for years just for the consistent quality and the range of brands (I shop the plus size ranges for Nike, Calvin Klein etc)
I still have hits and misses but i love that ASOS has extended sizes in regular fitted clothing, sometimes I find all plus size ranges to be filled with prints, jeggings, spandex stretchy clothes that are not my style at all.

I totally understand this feeling. Ordered three tracksuits from Boohoo all same size... two are slightly to big and one is tight! I feel I have to hunt for good fashion at a size 16-18 but when I was size 12 my world in fashion was so much easier!! And even then, shopping online is still tricky. Sending you so much love and thank you for keeping it real! Xx keep being your beautiful self. I adore your channel ❤️ Sarah xx

Hey babe, I just want to give you a huge hug!! You, me and so many other beautiful curvy ladies are all saying the same and have the same frustrations with sizing.. Its unbelievable that every store has a different size chart and I have personally found that the stores that have the 8-14 range and then add on plus size (which btw is a shit term, why do we have to be referred to plus.. that's for another time lol) I have found they don't actually check sizing and just add the 5cm and call it a size 20 for example. I felt your pain in this video as I am sure every plus size woman has! Thank you for sharing it! I am currently looking at opening my own Fashion online boutique 16-18 and sizing is one thing I am so so so very consious of! One store that I think you may like is a new label called Peach the label xxx Sending you a big cyber hug and thank you for posting this as I am sure it hard to do! xxxxxxx

I’ve had the exact same experience with ASOS before!! :( one order everything was swimming on me then months later, another order everything was skin tight! Ordered the same size & my body hadn’t changed at all... super frustrating! Really wish they were more consistent xx

I think we’ve all had this experience, and you’re 100% right - the size chart is often not accurate, and the brands are definitely not consistent. That being said, I recently had a very good experience with Shein. I used the measurements for each item (as the sizing changes from garment to garment) and everything I ordered fit like an absolute dream. I felt truly amazing and uplifted, which as you said, it was fashion is supposed to do. I know it probably won’t always be perfect, but it was a really nice experience for me to have.
To those who may say that losing weight to be a smaller size and avoid curve ranges is the answer - you can be a 10 in one store and a 16 in another, so the issue here really is consistency across the industry. A man’s size 34 is always a 34... why can’t a 14 be the same regardless of where you shop? To those saying that Katie needs to accept she’s a larger size, I think she clearly says that she doesn’t care about the size and uses the size chart, which unfortunately, can be inaccurate and inconsistent.
Thank you for your honest and raw reaction to this haul - somehow it makes me feel better to know that I’m not the only one who experiences these feelings x

People bag Shein but they are one of the only online retailers that bothers to put up measurements of every garment, so I keep going back to them time and time again.

I am so so sorry you had such a bad experience with this try on. Thank you for sharing your experience though as this just shows how different sizing can be from different companies. You are a beautiful girl! You will find something that looks absolutely stunning on you!

I’ve bought a Lot from ASOS. I’m a pretty standard US 14/uk18. ASOS brand I usually find is sized large. The problem I find is, they sell so many brands. Simply Be fits large, daisy street fits huge, collusion fits huge, pink clove fits small, ax Paris fits small but you have to know every single designer!brand. I always have to size up in a slip dress/skirt, regardless of brand. They are usually cut on the diagonal for beautiful drape but that also means they pull down and that makes them more clingy. I do wish ASOS used reviews to help their customers decide their sizing.
H&M is actually the most inconsistent brand I’ve come across. Worse than Shein (which I actually find very consistent). 💕💕🌸

The sizing issue is painful and so confusing, I feel you. Have you tried the brand You + All ?? They are also having a 35% off sale and have some great dresses for spring/summer 😘

This is so relatable, I hate that one size Jean can be like 2 sizes bigger in another shops. Deflates your mood straight away and ruins anything else you have bought and haven’t tried on yet xx

Katie, thank you for keeping it real ... which you always do. Asos appear to be promoting a curve range, which it definitely is not, just by looking at your try on's, although I loved the denim dress on you! You're gorgeous and amazing. Stuff Asos

I had this happen to me yesterday with a dress I got from the iconic. I’m a size 14 up top, 16 bottoms. I bought a size 16 dress and I struggled to get the dress on. My partner had to do the side
zip up over my bust and that was with extreme difficulty. The dress was more a 10-12. I have felt so shit since yesterday because it made me feel like the fattest person in the world. Thank you for this video; thank you for making me not feel alone!

Hey hun xo I found ASOS the same. Size charts are off, sized up in stuff I didn’t need to and then sized down in items that I needed to size up in. I sent all my order back. I was so shocked.... I now have 3 companies I stick to as I know I’m a size 22 from that shop or a xl in that shop. I never seem to have size problems at city chic because I believe it’s all the same size so no matter the cut of jeans I am a XL.
