My 13yo is Autistic and I have been using these for her since she started having her periods and I can't recommend them highly enough! Absolutely brilliant, an easy 10/10! Great review Katie, thanks for your honesty xx
That’s incredible to hear!! Something we often forget is our children going through periods and dealing with that. I hated wearing tampons and cried often when I first started, so that’s a game changer!! Xx
I'm still a little confused. So are you saying that with these undies you can wear them all day without needing to change them. Normally you would need to change your pad or tampon anytime you went to the toilet. My 17 year old daughter is autistic too and her periods can get quite heavy to the point that she has to put down a towel when she sleeps or sits on the couch.
@@rvassallo1671 My Daughter goes all day wearing the heavy/overnight without having to change them. I also have her on the pill to help with pain and flow management. So wear a fresh pair in the morning, shower at night before bed and change them then.
Thank you Shannon for your feedback and going to encourage our ASD family member to try the period undies.
@@julzcares Anything that can help simplify something that can be very difficult to manage within our ASD family is worth sharing!
I love your review ❤. If someone is watching this there's no such thing as TMI so don't worry do you, it's probably what someone might be needing. Thanks for showing us each one up close with all the details 👌. I've been on their website all day undecisive. This review help me out the most!
Love how open and honest you are. I’m excited to try, just used your discount code, thank you!
Katie , thank you for tackling such a sensitive subject, and for doing it so honestly. This is a truly terrific video all women should see. It's so informative and positive (if one can be positive about periods!!)
The products look fantastic so I ordered my knickers immediately !! Again thank you .
Awww thank you so much. I’m so glad! I hope you love them as much as I do 💋
I have been seeing ads for modibodi and have been so sceptical,so seeing an honest review really helps! Thankyou for being so candid! 💓
Of course! Thank you for watching. I have the code below in the description to save you some money too xx
I've always wondered about these knickers. They sound great and look pretty too! I may have to get some for my daughters and I. xx
You won’t regret it! I have a discount KATIEFRANCES15 to save some money at checkout x
So I just watched your fistula video and I want to say thank you so much for talking about it. I have Crohn’s disease and I’ve recently found out I have one tunneling and have never really heard much about it besides what a seton is and what they do. I know talking about health can be a little embarrassing sometimes, trust me I have a pooping disease, but I really love and appreciate your honesty. You’ve helped me and I’m sure others too. Thank you, stay strong and get your bowel tested, I was symptomless until I ended up in emergency
I’m so glad I could help. Sending you love and strength to get through this ❤️ you’re stronger than the disease
I was wondering whether I should try this brand or not. Great timing! I will try it. And thanks for being so real. It's very refreshing to see this. I really appreciate it. I'm sure many others do too 💖
I think I am definitely going to order some! I hate tampons, and only use pads, but they’re so uncomfortable and gets so expensive! 😣
Thanks for the great review ❤️
Very helpful video! I just wanted to note that the detachable bikini is actually an underwear style, not a swimwear item. They're designed to unclip at the sides to make it easier if you need to change a pair out in public (at work, for example) so you don't have to get undressed to switch the pair. They also have little waterproof bags for putting the undies into if you have to change them while you're out.
I've been thinking of buying these for awhile now, the feeling of pads really can be a pain (literally) and I think you've finally convinced me to take the dive into it
Yay! You won’t regret it, these are so comfy and gives so much more freedom back to my life
Just came across your video after hopping on the period pants trend (sorry it is late haha). I suffer from very heavy periods and I haven't related to someone as much as you when you talk about all the leaks and uncomfortablness etc, it is inspiring so thank you. I will definitely get some period undies :)
That jade colour is lovely!
I’ve always been reluctant to try because I also have really heavy, clotty periods. I wear overnight pads all the time, but those heavy underwear look game changing. Thanks for sharing Katie xx
They really are! They go so far up the butt it’s given me peace of mind like no pad could x
This video so helpful! No your not the only one with irritation from pads for too many days. They can be itchy too
Oh my goodness what timing, went on a night out with the netball mums last night and they were all talking about them but needed a little more convincing! Amazing Katie Thankyou so much, how amazing for little girls when they first start their period giving that extra protection while at school I’ll 100% be using them for my daughter when the time comes
Oh wow! That’s crazy timing! Highly recommend.. and yes it’s perfect for girls! Didn’t even consider this until today but that’s genius x
They are life changing. Definitely great for kids too. I used to get soooo shy changing pads at school.
I flipping LOVE ModiBodi!
I’ve been using these for the last 5-6 mths I have the black ones only but will be getting colours. My periods are so much easier to maintain I am confident and don’t worry bout it when I go out. My hubby is impressed and said he doesn’t care how much they are they make ME FEEL amazing!!!! 10/10
Very informative. Thank you for sharing. Will definitely check it out 😊
Thank you for your honest review. I’ve been struggling with incontinence for the last 3 years & was searching for a sustainable answer. I love that these undies look like normal ones. I’ve even picked up some maternity as I’m pregnant with my forth Bub. Thanks for giving me some peace of mind about investing into this product🌻🥰
I started off with reusable pads and moved to period underwear a few months ago. My biggest reason was because of leakage after having my son. I wear them everyday now and love them. They work and help against embarrassing moments. Lol. Thank you for making this video. 💕
Yes 🙌🏼 I am shocked at how less “Pongy” my region is and just in general leakage is absorbed ❤️👏🏻
Recently I have notice a new glow about you, you seem so happy and your style has been banging lately xo
Thank you beautiful, my mental health is better than ever and I feel super happy 💋
Hi Katie! If you're periods are lasting that long and are really heavy, go see your doctor. You might be experiencing endometrial hyperplasia which can be really serious.
@@KatieFrances That’s terrible! For that reason alone I’d change doctors. Have you looked into getting your fistulas taken care of too? I know it’s been a while since you’ve posted this video, but hearing you speak about your period and the fistulas, I’m so worried about you…both as a woman, who’s a mother of four, and a nurse who’s had fistulas myself.
Love this video! Keen to try these underwear out. How long will your discount code last? (trying to time my purchase with my period)
I'm so happy you reviewed these. I've been looking at them for ages. And i really trust your reviews.
Thank you so much 😁
Ps. I love your content 💜
I've been keen to get some of these as pre baby number two I was using a cup and was always worried I'd have an accident as it isn't as easy as with tampons to tell if it's getting full unless it's removed (which isn't ideal whilst at work ECT) so having these as a back up will work great I think.
Thanks for your honest review as always Katie
Definitely recommend! It felt strange because I wasn’t having to wear a pad or tampon but it’s incredible! The freedom it gives is priceless x
I bought these mainly to trial them before using for my daughters (both Autistic) who don’t have their period yet but eldest is getting close. Now I only use them and haven’t bought pads or tampons for over 6 months. I also bought my eldest two types to try for comfort and she’s happy with the feeling (and only wears ONE type of undies due to feel and comfort) so have bought her a few to be prepared and a pair of the ladies togs as she’s a big beach and pool girl.
I always see the ads for this brand but didn’t even think that they would be awesome for bladder leakage until now! I’m definitely going to buy these now
I've been using mine for over 6 months now and I love them. I'm so glad I don't have to run to the grocery store every month only to contribute to landfill. :)
I love period knickers too!
Hey! Love your channel. What bra would you recommend for back fat control? X
That’s a tough one. I find a thicker back strap is crucial. Contact big girls don’t cry anymore. They’re a lingerie store and cater for plus size. They’ll know exactly which one! I have a code too, check my code highlight on insta
I love the seamfree full brief one. It feels so nice and kinda smooths out your bumps too. Like a lightweight shaper
ahhh i didn't even think about the odor, when period blood hits the oxygen its smelly but i reckon other people would be more aware since we are used to it.
Did you end up leaking during the day with your heavy flow ones?? I’m so interested!! Did you have to change them throughout the day? Or do you just wear one pair per day?
I talk about this at the end, but I changed if I had clots or if it was a super heavy day. It’s only leaked if I let more than 3-4 tampons worth in it ❤️
Katie Frances oh yeah. I remember you talking about the clots but it sounded like you only had to change them because of the clots. I’m just wondering if the absorbency would be good enough if you didn’t get clots🤔 That’s obviously a huge concern of any woman who has a decent flow. Mine is actually not too bad. But I still would usually change a pad once a day to freshen up, especially on heavy days. I’m so interested to try some and see if they get me through a whole day 😲
Courtney's Chaos mine is very heavy and I use these with a cup as backup. If using undies on their own I’d switch once a day. You can purchase a waterproof bag to keep them in until you get home to rinse them out.
C a r o l i n e thank you! I currently use a menstrual cup. I am buying some period undies to use as a back up when I use the cup because sometimes I spot through the cup if I didn’t put it in right and I’m sick of wearing liners when I have my period. But I am so interested in the fact that you can use the undies alone without a cup!! 😲
I find I have to change them at least once on my heaviest day but after that I switch them once per day and it's okay. (This is with the heaviest flow modibodi ones.)
I would speak to your gynaecologist about options to help you with your periods. I had heavy, long periods. And I had a coil contraceptive inserted just to help my periods. And whilst it’s not for everyone it’s been fantastic for me. Dealing with periods that heavy and long is a lot..x
If get a lot of ingrowns try laser hair removal for your Brazilian. I don’t get any ingrowns since getting laser
How do you bikini ones work? When you go into the water wouldn't they leak/run? Similar to what happens when you wash them?
The middle layer helps to absorb the period but this is a great question! I was only able to test it in the shower due to covid. X
Great video and love ur honestly. Normally I swerm when someone talks about periods but for some reason I didn't with ur video. You've made me want to try it even more knowing u have a really heavy flow.
So glad it was relatable and hope it helps you! I recommend the new 24 hour pair for a heavy flow x
Is there underwear lining showing when you wear tights? Love your content as always. Thank you.
Not in the light to moderate ones but yes in the heavy ones because it goes up the bum x
I have endometriosis and adenomyosis and love Modi bodi undies . I am having a full hysterectomy tomorrow so won't need them anymore but they have been wonderful for me.
Can I recommend if you have not seeing a gyno to see why your period is so heavy and long .
I love this undies. I’ve had these for a few months and there great. I’m not buying any more pads or tampons because of these
Hey Katie! Have you ever tried a period cup? I used to use tampons and hated the "drying" feeling of them and pads are too bulky. I love my period cup and the fact that it is reusable!
I haven’t purely because of the blood clots I get and the heaviness of my period I would be emptying it all the time!
Sorry to but in
But I've been using a cup for 4 yrs now because I have really bad periods too. I was changing tampons every 2 hrs but with my cup I can get away with only changing it 3 times a day its a life changer.
You can get cups that are designed for heavy periods.
So worth a try
I thought the same thing. I have some heavy days on my period with some small clots too, but even on a heavy day I only need to empty it 3 times a day. They come in 2 sizes and I just used the heavy flow size the whole time! I was actually surprised by the amount of tampons I would go through to the few amount of times I would have to empty my cup
Katie Frances Katie I clot too but the cup holds them. I empty once or twice on day one only. Worth trying but I still wear modibody as backup.
I have the Mirena implant so I haven't had a period in 3 years (they last for 5) but I can occasionally get spotting so I'm keen to check these out. Thanks for the informative video 😊
Oh wow! I didn’t realise that could happen. The light ones will be perfect for you 😍👏🏻
@@KatieFrances I'm not sure if it would be possible with your fistulas but definitely ask your gynecologist next time you go. It hurts a bit but it didn't take long and I love not having to worry every month when I'm out & about if my "friend" is coming to visit lol
Yes you are not supposed to get your period on the mirena, I had one put in after having a baby and my body didn't like it.. I ended up bleeding heavily for the 9weeks i had it in until my Dr removed it.. The hormones in it did not go well for me. Try find a Dr that can do mirenas and get lots of info before you get one
This is soooo much better than the modibod ad. This is honest, genuine, informative. Thankyou :)
To ask a really basic question. Is it machine washable and does it seem to get blood everywhere when washing? Never tried them before but they sound so interesting.
you rinse it out in the shower when you take it off until it runs clear. then you chuck them in the wash. they're ok to put in the dryer too.
I rinse mine in the laundry tub and then put them in a laundry bag and spin on a gentle cold wash ❤️
Not a doctor at all! just witnessed a friend go through similar with her periods, ended up being endo after years and years of just putting up with it and not knowing what she was experiencing wasn’t normal. You might not be the same, but just thought I would let you know so years don’t float by for yourself as well.
I use to get extremely heavy periods which was also causing me to have very low iron .. I could not leave the house for days as I needed to have access to the toilet and shower. Thankful I booked an appointment to see my naturopath and thank god I did going from the first 4 days being extremely heavy down to only 1 day heavy .. these look interesting thou
ahh your period sounds much like mine. Eventhough i make sure I wear a super overnight pad I woke up a couple hours later bled all through my sheets and it was literally like a tap! I am ALWAYS getting my period every 2-4 months now.
I cannot fathom how these underwear would catch a heaby flow without also making a mess
Have you had a chance to try any period underwear yet, no matter the brand? Just wondering because I have heavy periods too.
Hi Katie. I have stage 4 endometriosis, pcos, and Adenomyosis. I bleed for months at a time and it’s very very heavy to the point I need iron infusions. If I use pads I blister if I use tampons I leak so these have been a life saver. I also found that tampons make my symptoms worse including of my illnesses worse. Unfortunately I understand having to have surgery this year alone I’ve had 6 surgeries. I’ve found these undies to be amazing the only downside for me is that I have to have hundreds because I have to change them every hour or so. I’m so glad you have reviewed them so other people are more educated and feel like it’s okay to talk about the normal female challenges we all face.
Lots of love
Omg that sounds dreadful! Imagine how much money and product was wasted before you found the undies though hey! So thankful I can just reach for my cupboard now x
Omg this was like reading how my year has been. I'm getting a hysterectomy tomorrow. I love the heavy Modi bodi undies so much
Fiona_j_brown I wish you luck!! I honestly am hoping for a hysterectomy ASAP. So sick of being in pain all the time haha! Most people say things like “ the pains all in your head” “ have you tried meditating the pain away” just have a kid you’ll be fine”
Yes I had the same but was very lucky to see the lovely gyno team at the rbwh who are doing it for me and take my pain seriously.
Checked them out but unfortunately my budget doesn’t stretch far enough for $30 a pair knickers ☹️
I think it’s pretty affordable considering most plus undies are $40-50. Plus you have to consider the years of use compared to spending $10-15 each month for period supplies. It’s a long term investment for your wallet and the environment ❤️
Does it feel strange bleeding into undies with nothing there... I just can't get my head around that part.
I know.. surely the same as getting it unexpetedky.. no thanks! Also read some online reviews out of curiosity, apparently they have a lingering smell after being worn a couple of times.
I don’t find it any different to bleeding into a pad. I also don’t have an odour. Just follow the cleaning instructions and you’re good 👍
Thanks! I'd love to try them for my last 3days which are pretty light and as u said wearing a pad all day gets uncomfortable and hurts sometimes. Idk how you deal with a 2week period... Mine lasts 5days, it's usually non existant by day 4
Beautiful 🥰🥰 just love looking at you and everything about you 😘😘 love you 🌹🌹
Hi Katie, just want to share it, just in case it’ll help you too. I have a day or two of extreme heavy period (due to 4 little buggers fibroids) and I noticed if I take zinc+iron vitamins (any multivitamins that have Zinc and Iron) a few days before my period and during it, my “extreme” turns into medium flow! I was amazed. I noticed it by chance in 2016 or something. Last year we went overseas and I forgot about my vitamins...first of all my period started a week earlier and it was bucketing, I remember putting 2 super tampons and a pad and in 1 hour it was all full 😫 and so bloody painful...I sent my hubby to chemistry it subsided next day. I realised I definitely have to start vitamins a day or two before AF. I share it with everyone now (there is no harm in taking vitamins anyways) because just beside the discomfort I had so much anxiety of loosing so much blood...the feeling that I’m going to die or something 😒 so it fixed my anxiety as well 🥳
Does it come up far enough at the front? My periods come more up the front if I wear a pad then the back
Me encantas 😘😍💐
How do you wash them?
Rinse out in the shower until the water runs clear then chuck them in your normal wash.
I rinse in my laundry basin and then chuck in a cold wash. It says you can just put it straight in the cold wash though ❤️
NOONE should wear tampons - i used to hate pads and thought that would never change regardless of the fact i new how much they were sprayed with chemicals (my ex works on farms harvesting crops and he told me how much threy sprayed i was blown away but seriously using pads is soo easy. I pretty much always wear a liner cause i have a lot of discharge so.w days.So again DONT WEAR TAMPONS!!
Jim 🌷culotte ✔👍
Bloody hell you poor women.
Oh wow you really need to be checked for PCOS
@@KatieFrances no worries
I wouldn’t wish PCOS on anyone, it’s horrible.
An Aussie girl talking about periods, it made me smile.
