Their hotel room confrontation is one of the greatest scenes in Dallas. Dialogue, direction, pacing, acting, cinematography, score, tension - everything is just perfect.
Mr. Hagman appeared eerily frightening in that hotel confrontation scene, which causes my arm hairs to stand erect😨😳 I find this particular scene of Dallas, just plain eerie. J.R. Ewing sho nuff permeated a room with some horrible vibes 😨😒😰
msmithstud Pam was right he did NOT like her at all..XD Could you tell me if the show at a tie in with the Sheratan hotel chain..?? I noticed at the end of the 1986-87 premiere episode it promotional consideration as a sponcer and many of its chartors were in hotel rooms or suites ..??
MrCraigblaze i never acknowledged that about the Sheraton..I know at the end of the end credits there's a mention of Doubletree Hotel. Apparently, that's where the cast stayed while filming in Texas
+msmithstud The the one of the two favorite scenes on this show between these two..The other one is in the hayloft in the 1978 when Pam falls from 1978..XD
Larry Hagman played a wonderful villain. He was the core of Dallas, that's why after he died, the reboot went south. R.I.P, Mr. Hagman. Yo were a legend.
Victoria Principal is quite possibly the best looking woman who ever lived. As an actress should could more than hold her own with anyone including Larry Hagman. A hugely wealthy woman too. She is hugely talented both on and off screen. As for Larry words fail me. Has there ever been a better performance from any actor in the history of television ? He was and still is simply the best.
"Now climb down off your soapbox honey" LMAO "No, you started this my sanctimonious little sister-in-law." Awesome. JR Ewing/Larry Hagman were the best.
JR should not have forgotten one thing about Pam: she always does the opposite of what he says or threatens. JR had only able to get to her through other people her unknowingly.
Nah Pam was tough and took no bs from JR but never an antagonist. They had a few female villains over the years like Kristin Shepherd, Katherine Wentworth and Angelica Nero but Pam was not one of them.
@Renee, No she never. JR dose not frighten her. She said she is NOT afraid of him. Pam Ewings not like these modern day feminist who want special treatment. Pam had strength of character. 😏
He was primarily talking about Cliff as Bobby has never/ever been afraid or hesitant to go up against Jr....In the reboot, Sue-ellen used the perfect analogy to sum BOBBY up...."A Steel hand in a velvet glove". Bobby more took after his mama with a kind/gentle nature, of high moral fiber...but not weak or a punk......Ellie, was very kind n easy going, but I loved to see her when she loses her cool...."Ray, get me the shot gun our of the hall closet"..
The cinematography in Season 7 was so amazing compared to previous seasons. Just look at the comparison between the two scenes. I love jR circling Pam like a predator
Pamela was actually JR's formidable adversary, her brother was more like a bumbling fool. Its a shame the writers didnt exploit dynamic so much more. I'm sure Victoria Principal would have stayed much longer with Dallas. Thankfully we can relive the great scenes of these two here on YT.
He crushed everything and everybody, to get what he wants. He only cared for him self. How ever he lost it all on his own in the end, interesting turn of events.
This was acting at its finest, two heavyweights in Larry Hagman and Victoria Principal going toe to toe on Friday nights on CBS. People don't understand how huge this show was back in its heyday. People literally planned out their weeks and Friday nights around Dallas, it was a weekly event like NFL television. I also believe between Pam and JR that JR actually secretly liked and respected Pam because she was the only woman to stand up to him. I felt some heavy vibes of love too, they were both at such odds that they never explored that possibility. You can tell with how steamy it was between them that they went the extra mile. I believe JR did the things he did to get extra attention from Pam. He knew he couldn't have Pam because of his brother, so he picked on her at every turn. It's like how young boys and girls do at school they bully and pick on kids they have a crush on. I always felt like that here. Does anybody else believe the same, or am I crazy? LOL!
Because it isn't like JR actually works....he's gotta stick his nose into other people's lives an old lady..... Boredom is a terrible thing - especially when you got too much time on your hands and got a rotten mind!
Loved Dallas. This scene iv just beyond! Hagman was a super star, the devil that he played. There were times I wanted badly for him to get his punishment. He corrupted that decent man , the government worker who kept bids safe. Horrible to see that man buckle under J.R' cruel blackmail.
one of my all time favorite scenes....JR at his all time best....larry hagman was born to play this role..."well,try this one on for size"...if u shld return to bobby...all is gonna break loose...an under rated actor...always knew how to deliver a line.....sadly dallas stayed around wy too long n by the last season....had become a snooze fest n the season finale was a total let down....they waited 30yrs before approaching victoria to reprise her role of pam to rap up bobby n pam in the reboot....victoria who is rich as shit now.....was smart to decline the offer....the invite should have been offered in the last season and started 5-6 episodes before the finale and climaxed with a reunion.....they shld have alson xtended an invite to barbara bel geddies.....and created a finale of them all seated at their famous 7pm dinner with lucy & Jr throw ing shade at each other and jr. riding high on the hog because he finally became chairmen of west star oil.....
Allyn Shaving When Dallas was conceived it was reported that the show was suppose to revolve around the character of Pam. Then JR became this huge iconic character that people loved to hate and the show switched to revolving around JR.
I always loved to hate J.R.! I have to say though that for all of his animosity towards Pam, he never raised a hand to her in retaliation for her slapping him, at least as far as I can recall. I do remember he slapped Sue Ellen once when she insinuated that the baby she was carrying might not be his and how shocking that was back then. If he had slapped Pam back... Well, I think that would've started something with Bobby and Cliff that even his ruthlessness couldn't outdo.
+DarlingNikki2, I remember that too, but he NEVER did slap Pam back because Pam could slap, that's for sure. Like in the first scene when Pam slapped him, he never tried to slap him back, and everything. I do remember what happened when JR slapped Sue Ellen too when she said her child must not be his.
JR never used violence against Pam but instead he delivered some of the best put downs which did alot more damage. Example She's cracking up, and who could blame her. I LOVE the $25.90 dollar bedspread in the background !! XD
Pam and JR’s scenes are what got me hooked on Dallas back in the day!
JR and Pam didn't have many one-on-one scenes but their confrontations are some of the best moments of the series.
''Oh, I don't give a damn about you or your happiness, honey, but I do care about what's good for me.'' LMAO
+msmithstud True...xd
This whole dialogue is hilarious. Probably the best scene between JR & Pam.
msmithstud

The chilling, ominous music just completes the scene perfectly.
Larry Hagman played a wonderful villain. He was the core of Dallas, that's why after he died, the reboot went south. R.I.P, Mr. Hagman. Yo were a legend.
True, S3 reboot had no interest for me.
The reboot already had problems namely the wrong producer and the writers.
And that is fine....do we really need to celebrate and amplify vile scum characters like this......
The reboot was horrible from day 1, Larry had one foot in the grave it was a laughing joke to watch
They should have done the reboot about 10 years earlier.
Omg J.R. has got to be the most Ruthless asshole of all time!! I love it!!!
The hotel scene when JR threatens Pam is the quintessential scene of the great prime time soaps of the 80s. The prime time soaps were addictive.
"Damn, I hate that woman." Lol.
LOL "...holding haa-aands?" Love that accent - the only genuine Texan on the show.
Victoria Principal is quite possibly the best looking woman who ever lived. As an actress should could more than hold her own with anyone including Larry Hagman. A hugely wealthy woman too. man she is rich 350 mill net worth
The way he held his cowboys hat was perfect. When Larry Hagman died it was like my childhood passed from this earth with him.
Victoria principal was absolutely beautiful until she married a plastic surgeon.
@@colinjennings3661
Exactly! After she married tgat surgeon she looked pale and pasty. Ughhh!!!
Agreed on everything you said
In the first scene at the office JR nailed it. He kind of put her in her place and she knew it! Love Dallas!
"Now climb down off your soapbox honey" LMAO "No, you started this my sanctimonious little sister-in-law." Awesome. JR Ewing/Larry Hagman were the best.
EPIC! Pam knew J.R. wasn't playing games. He meant exactly what he said.
She ignores him..But Katherine's letter does the job !!
JR should not have forgotten one thing about Pam: she always does the opposite of what he says or threatens. JR had only able to get to her through other people her unknowingly.
These are the true stars of the show. Pam was the only female to stand up against JR. A protagonist and an antagonist in every respect!
+Bobby Damiano aND dONNA...xd
MrCraigblaze -Donna was a self righteous bitch. Im glad Ray didn't stick with her
That's why he hated her
Donna was too self righteous. Pam was a stick of fire. She was very much like JR.
Nah Pam was tough and took no bs from JR but never an antagonist. They had a few female villains over the years like Kristin Shepherd, Katherine Wentworth and Angelica Nero but Pam was not one of them.
« And whoever goes down with him so be it ». That still gives me chills
JR was still at his evilest at this point, you can see how shook Pam looked.
"I don't give a damn about you or your happiness honey, but I care about what's good for me." Is that brutal honesty, or arrogance?
Make it both. He's not lying and he's artogant at the same time
@@christophercasey5368 That's Dallas at it's peak.
This was a great exchange and Pam admitted that JR frightened her. Great acting and brilliant series.
@Renee,
No she never.
JR dose not frighten her.
She said she is NOT afraid of him.
Pam Ewings not like these modern day feminist who want special treatment.
Pam had strength of character. 😏
Pam did tell her sister that JR paid her a visit and she said that JR frightened her.@@koolkev2020able

They should do a " times JR has been slapped " video . It's been a lot
You would think JR would practice dodging slaps and punches, given how many are directed at him.
He always came back with bullets loaded.
A man's man. JR was it. Men today should learn from his style.
Pamela boldly stood up to J R.
Sue Ellen driven to drink!
JR wasn't a man, he was a monster. A man has integrity.
Amen to that !
I love when JR outsmarts everybody
I agree. I hated it when in later seasons they ruined JR by having him lose to every Tom, Dick or Harry. That was hard to watch.
Yes I agree there will never be shows like these the 80s on Friday nights were the best followed by falcon crest after Dallas
That first scene between them is such a classic, mainly because J.R. has a point and the upper hand in their argument.
A brilliant compilation , thank you.
The cinematography in Season 7 was so amazing compared to previous seasons. Just look at the comparison between the two scenes. I love jR circling Pam like a predator
Pam was gorgeous in that pink sleep wear.I could eat her with a spoon
Agreed.
That circling with the camera was brilliant! No other nighttime soap did that, just chilling to watch.
Pam was always the tough one in the show. So was Donna Krebbs, she was even tougher and didn't put up with J.R.'s crap.
This is hilarious. He crushed Pam over and over just like the other Barns family member. It's is...classic. hahaha.
+Erik L W never cared for her. loved that lil dig that JR gave her. now Sue Ellen on the other hand, i loved her.
Me either. Sue Ellen is THE best.
He crushed everything and everybody, to get what he wants. He only cared for him self. How ever he lost it all on his own in the end, interesting turn of events.
JR thought nothing of flirting with his brothers' wives, one time drunk he flirted with Pam and even made a pass at Abby when she was married to Gary.
JR was a great villain. I loved when Pam put him in his place. It was really fun to hate him. Great actor, R.I.P. Larry Hagman.
Gotta love these two...She slaps HIM ..And he threatens her !!
In the Russian version of Dallas: - Tell me, did you limit yourself to Mark, or did you pick up a couple more Frenchmen at the same time?
This scene just feels like a great night time soap opera.
What a tremendous actor. I had never realised how incredibly talented he was when I was younger.
This was acting at its finest, two heavyweights in Larry Hagman and Victoria Principal going toe to toe on Friday nights on CBS. People don't understand how huge this show was back in its heyday. Yes you are absolutely onto something. Pam was the one woman JR couldn’t get to submit to him.
Jr does not give a dam about Bobby
Pam's got a vicious right cross slap....Just ask JR and Katherine...
She got Sue Ellen pretty good once too!
I never understood why JR was so invested in Bobby and Pam's marriage. He hated her more than he did Cliff!
Because Pam isn't a Barnes she's a McKinney
Because it isn't like JR actually works....he's gotta stick his nose into other people's lives an old lady.....
Boredom is a terrible thing - especially when you got too much time on your hands and got a rotten mind!
Bobby and Pam’s loving marriage gave Sue Ellen ideas about what a marriage should be, which was a source of consternation for JR.
@@nrkgalt never thought of that but it makes sense.
I love jr so much I miss him
Victoria Principal looked beautiful.
Although he was the bad guy ,I was always rooting for him ,a true baddy
Greatest TV character in history
I learned a lot stuff from JR...
sad
"Who gave you the right to poke your nose in my life?"
-JR has a point there.
Not really. He was forever poking his nose into hers.

Pam was always my all time fav of any TV babe then and now...
Jr was the best love and miss him
I think Jr hates Pam because he can't have her.
He did always look at her with lust when she wore her bikini at the Southfork pool.
I always wondered if J.R. had thing for Pam.
I always wondered if Pam had a thing for JR
What a great actor Larry Hagman was. I never can decide whether I prefer him as Anthony Nelson in I Dream Of Jeanny or as JR in DALLAS.
Obviously JR is a better more engaging character.
J. R Ewing
JR at his finest.
Pam smacked the Shit out of JR

Nice slap you did on that AWFUL, devil incarnate himself, J.R., baby girl.🧐🙄
Victoria Principal is Sentional/💕Fabulous 💕& Alwayz Stylish💕💕😊😊
JR has to do a lot to get rid of Pam.
All he had to do with Valene was tell her to get the hell out of Dallas.
He circled around her like a shark when he threatened her! lol
The true Dallas, Pamela vs J.R.
Does anyone know why the original series of Dallas isn’t available to buy ?
This man is savage af!

1:53 Classic!
Jr was the star, was his show some say Victoria was but she left and still Dallas went on.
Allyn Shaving Pam was not even in the top 5 stars of Dallas.
Pam was most certainly top 5 infact she was top 2 after JR as she was the link between Ewing and Barnes. She caused the friction. Cliff was after Pam.
But a lot of people said Dallas started to go downhill after Pam left.
Allyn Shaving When Dallas was conceived it was reported that the show was suppose to revolve around the character of Pam. Then JR became this huge iconic character that people loved to hate and the show switched to revolving around JR.
JR was indeed the star of the show. It did not bother me when Bobby died.
I did not know what JR was doing here. He knows that Pam does the opposite of what he wants (threats).
👌 👌
Our. GUYyyy
The way Victoria’s eyes go from hate and contempt to fear in that second clip is amazing. She doesn’t get the credit she deserves.
Pam was fiesty!
Pam might not have been afraid of JR, but I sure am afraid of her hairdo! lol.
Everyone had the hair back then
"Now tell me was Mark Graison the only on or did you try a few French men just coz you were there"
Oh J.R. you are a riot 🤣
So messed up. Forget that she is Cliff's sister, why couldn't JR leave Bobby and Pam alone and let them be happy? What a jerk! Great acting RIP Larry.
was this before or after the dream
Pamela was always so winey.
Pamela was a powerhouse, she stood her ground against J.R.
JR stand on business!!
"Was Mark the only one?"
He had her confused with Sue Ellen
I remember how much everyone used to hate Pam lol
I always loved to hate J.R.! I have to say though that for all of his animosity towards Pam, he never raised a hand to her in retaliation for her slapping him, at least as far as I can recall. I do remember he slapped Sue Ellen once when she insinuated that the baby she was carrying might not be his and how shocking that was back then. If he had slapped Pam back... Bobby would have killed JR had he struck Pam
Bobby est aussi bête que sa pam
JR never used violence against Pam but instead he delivered some of the best put downs which did alot more damage.
Example
She's cracking up, and who could blame her. She finds out her daddy Digger Barnes is no relation at all and her real daddy is a saddle tramp and a thief and her mothers a whore.. Who could hate that little girl.
Or What do you expect from the illegitimate daughter of a ranch-foreman and the step daughter of the town drunk.

Straight ruthless....poor Pam, she can't catch a break from JR.
please don't hurt me I always felt JR had a secret crush on Pam.
No...he actually hated her
shaunda brown can you imagine the angry sex they would have had? He would have done her given the chance.
shaunda brown JR wouldn't let himself have feelings for a Barnes
He said he ain't like her from the day boby bought her home) probably mad at boby for marrying her) is he still highest paid TV actor?)
yea remember the water marker crossword Sue Ellen was working on "buoys" may have been the 6th episode
Почему на русском нет кино Я не понимаю другого языка
JR is actually right that she was sanctimonious if she had also been with other men.
Pam is nothing compared to JR - thats why she lashes out in the first scene. He hits a truth.
@Steven,
Pam is a very strong woman.
She's certainly no pushover.
She's got brains beauty and strength of character. 😏
I think Jr had autism
Jr slept with so many women accept Pam . Donna, and Valene. all of his sister in laws saw through his shit.
