Found this out the hard way, that this needed to be done. No explanation from the installer until I called him back twice ! Now I caulk every joint and hope for better results next year ! Thanks for posting this for all of us first timers !! Still learning 👍
If you take your time and use it sparingly by applying a thin layer to the outside of the joint, avoiding letting the silicone seal the inside of the connection, you should be ok. If you use too much, then it can be more difficult to separate. I recommend using " Clear " silicone for a nice clean look. Peace

how hard is it to separate the pipes once you silicon them together? For cleaning purposes.
