X JAPAN "X" at ROCK WAVE 1990 IS A MASTERPIECE!!

X Japan is a Japanese rock band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer and pianist Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi. Starting as a predominantly power/speed metal band with heavy symphonic elements, they later gravitated towards a progressive sound with an emphasis on ballads.

If it's outdoor and the sun is lower, that means the band is probably one of the last bands to perform at that stage at a festival.
X-Japan was the biggest and part of the first wave of Japanese bands in metal which had similar hair style to western 'glam metal' or 'hair metal'.
The drummer Yoshiki was also born with a weak body, he almost died in the first few years of his life (I don't remember right now if he was born early).
The destroying things was common in the west and Japan with large bands, pretty certain whom ever started it probably had this idea while under the influence of drugs. 🙂
Luckily these days drugs aren't as common anymore.
About the drummer: "he needs to keep up with everyone" - well, strictly speaking the drummer sets the tempo for everyone else of course.
It's been a long time since I've seen your reactions, my guess it was because of a Babymetal reaction and I think I might have mentioned it then:
X-Japan has been a big influence on Babymetal. They make multiple references in their performances/music/songs.
X-Japan's most important concert was: Last Live at the Tokyo Dome on December 31, 1997. As the name says, this is when 1 of the most important members of X-Japan was leaving the band.
This is actually the same month Suzuka aka Su-metal of Babymetal was born (December 20, 1997). The legend is, she was born to continue the Japanese metal blood line or it's just a coincidence of course. 🙂

You will see what I mean with reference to X-Japan.
An other example which you could see in this X-Japan performance, Babymetal also closes their shows with: "We are ?" "BABYMETAL !" just like X-Japan's: "We are ?" "X !"
Their are also multiple references to X-Japan in the MV of Babymetal Headbanger and their live performances of the song.
And Babymetal Akatsuki as well.
