I find myself mesmerized just staring at the old cars with logos and colors. Also, the engines that were smaller with less horse power stacked up on front of the row. Silent film with little sound. Very comforting in this age. Thank you.
Great video... I love the locomotive "dog packs", the graffiti-free cars, the old U-boats, the GP locos, the white LV paint job, sectioned track. Precious.
Thanks for sharing these amazing videos! Must be kind of sad to look at railroads today after all your wonderful experiences back in the day. Sadly time marches on.
I just found your channel and I subscribed. I enjoy watching older videos from different areas of the country as I am from Southern California again I thank you
You really made my day ! thanks for this great video, that i have never seen before. Good quality , 18 mm ?, and lots of spots filmed around the facilities at Sayre PA, Now i found a dvd, when searching the web, made by Mark I Videos - Memories of the LEHIGH VALLEY - Volumes 1 and 2 - DVD ; is this video the same ? and yes i subscribed .
This was all shot by my father. I think the early stuff was 8mm and the later stuff was 16mm. My dad sold these as DVD's for a few years. He also allowed others to take bits and pieces to resell. No idea if the Mark I stuff is related.
N&W train came into the LV yard with N&W power and caboose. The train was going to continue on the Lehigh Valley using the N&W power. While in the Buffalo area LV yard, the N&W train picked up a block of freight with a LV caboose on the rear, since the train would continue east with a LV crew. It would be quicker to just leave the N&W caboose in the middle of the train rather than setting it out in Buffalo.

Yes - and NO graffiti on them either. Different world back then.

Thanks for uploading these pricless moments. Hard to believe for me that when I was in my first year of high school, the LVRR was no more.
Outstanding video. It's amazing that CN's Wet Noodle has outlasted dozens of railroad logos and even dozens of railroads 😊
Priceless footage! Thank you very much. I get to relive a time of my life by watching this.
Thank you for all these videos. They are really awesome

Thanks for subbing!
Too bad it didn't have real sound. I would have loved to hear those ALCo's in run 8. Still, a very great film, thanks for showing.
Very nice footage sir. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it

@@GuyWicksallthe resolution and focus are excellent, lighting outstanding - it all had to be calculated manually back then
Odessa bridge long gone.
44:22: GE U25Bs? Those are Alco 420s. LV bought U23Bs, not U25Bs.
Why was a caboose in the middle of the train and another on the end? Anyone know?
