❤ Watching this video makes me miss a co-worker who used to work next to my office. She's Filipino and she was everything what you guys said about Filipinos. She was always smiling and laughing. Even though she was a lot older than me, but she was so cute and lovable. I wished we could hang out more cuz I'd love to have a Filipino friend like her in my life 🥺
There is No Problem on language barrier you teach him some basic Japanese words and he will teach you English words other way around.

Its not that easy to teach without a common language
Problems - For me (Filipina) and Japanese hubby, they are mostly about communication & cultural differences.
Feelings - he doesn’t really share his feelings about a lot of things, while I talk about mine all the time! It is frustrating, but I found ways to handle the situation.
Family relationships - I am very close to my relatives we always laugh & chat noisily, he doesn’t have the same kind of dynamics at his home with his family.
Food - He eats raw fish, raw eggs, even fresh raw beef mince with soy sauce/wasabi, I cannot! And I did try to eat them but nooo!!
Religion - I converted to his religion so no problem there.
Work/study ethics - I think I work hard in all aspects of daily life but for him it’s never enough! 😆 very high expectations.
At home - we do share housework. But he always wants me to serve him food especially getting rice for him?! Like how they do in anime - he gives me his bowl for seconds! I don’t like getting up when I am seated, but I do it for him 🤬
Money - he is very good with his money, but he is also very generous. I like to treat myself, but also like to treat others.
Style - Filipinos are known for dressing well no matter the budget. We like to be well-presented. He dresses very simply. I want to buy him clothes!
English language - Filipinos are good at speaking English. I try to be helpful, but he doesn’t like being corrected, he got angry at first. But I explained that it’s better coming from me than from other people. So since then, he gives me extra work to edit! 😩
Intimacy - private stuff! I’ll just say, he’s shy 🙈 while I am not so shy 🤪 Filipinos are Latin lovers of Asia. I am very affectionate and romantic. He isn’t, but I can tell, he likes it 😂 I just hope he becomes more expressive over time! I love him so I am very patient!

I love your energy Mana and I can see how open minded you are! You embrace other culture and you want to learn from the Filipinos. As a Filipino I can say that we should also learn from the Japanese too :) The discipline, you're very respectful, very humble, meticulous, you value hardwork, - when you do something you really put your mind and heart into it and you have a very advanced technology, well I admire the Japanese for that! :) I think like many international couple most of the problem is the miscommunication or misunderstandings because of the language difference. The culture, the education are certainly different. Filipinos are very expressive and sociable to the point where we are very noisy like the karaoke 'til late at night or even at 4 am of which I think we should change and respect our neighbors who are sleeping.... Japanese are silent and discreet-I hope we can take a little bit of that traits from the Japanese!hehe

My husband is Japanese and I'm Filipina. So many difference but for me, it's exciting like we discover many new things about us and that keeps the relationship fun and stronger.
For Filipinas/foreigners, it's much easier to date a Japanese guy if he had lived overseas like my husband for some time because he won't appear as very serious and knows how to express himself better, English won't much be a challenge, and most of all...his mind is already open to cultural differences because he had previous experience living in another country.
I do agree with the struggle on where to stay. For now, we decided to stay in the Philippines for a few years then Japan for another few years then after that have the final decision on where to settle down. It's another huge exciting thing to look forward to.
