Looking at why he took drugs, would get you closer to the truth, and an understanding. He was molested and tortured as a child, and so depended, on drugs from a teenager to the very end. I think he was a good person, dealt a bad hand, and understandably couldn't get pass that. I hope he is held in God's love, and at peace, l thank him for his life's work, all carried out in spite of things that happened to him.
I just watched him in a Murder She Wrote. So sad but bizzare episode. It's season 1 episode 5 I think, where she has to clear a groom to be (Jeff Conway) from being a prime murder suspect in the death of a club owner.

The making of Grease caused his back pain and that made him go over extreme measures to take painkillers which are implied to "Drugs" like I mean- It was his choice to take the painkillers more than he should've had but he was struggling to deal with how painful his back was so... know your information before you say something.

I was definitely his fan in Grease. Then I wanted to know what had happened to him after Grease. I am glad he was in other films as well and he was successful. I think because of his pain in the back he started going down the wrong path. I am a Hungarian fan. I am from Budapest. :)

As a child. I really want to become a Movie Actor. But I work for FEDEX here in Canada as a Part time Driver. Well , I ended up working for this Company for twenty five years and that's how my life ended up in that direction. Because of the way he walks and on crutches. I don't think FEDEX is going to hire him. He cannot qualify for the job. Not even a Part Time Driver. It's a fast pace job and you must be able to deliver and pick up packages on time. As a matter of fact. I visited L.A three years ago and I dropped by and had late dinner in that Restaurant. It was good food.
Life has its paths. We trust that somewhere along the way, you found yours and some good times. As for FedEx and Mr. Conway, well, he has passed away. He won't be looking for a job there. Sounds as if you enjoyed your time in LA. Any other LA stories you want to share with us??

As the camera man asks more " insulting" questions, the gf begins to become uncomfortable and he becomes more disoriented. I don't find it amusing at all...somewhat more of a form of bullying.

That wasn’t the problem, the problem was he had a degenerative condition of his spine that caused severe pain, and unless you have lived through it you have no idea what it is like, pain medication only does so much, medication barley masks severe pain.
Until people realize that this is a genetic disorder, NOT A MORAL FAILING, thousands of people will not be able to get help for a REASONABLE COST. Help is so expensive that only a select group of people can obtain help. It isn't JUST the cost. It is the ability to leave your job for 60-90 days.

Nah, we don't think so. Not to the best of our knowledge anyways. He had a fifth back surgery as late as 2009. Surgeries don't always solve the problems, and it appears so in this case. Then again, he might have simply stubbed his toe.

This is an old comment but I just had to say this: when he filmed the movie grease he had an accident where he hurt his back and that chronic pain followed him up to his death, he was in so much pain that he got addicted to drugs.

Jeeesh. What a sad old mess. I didn't even know he croaked and that was like 10 years ago now. Well, I pretty much had him pegged on drugs in Taxi with his twitchy h head always flippin his hair and just his entire demeanor said drugs. So I wasn't the least surprised.

This is an old comment but I just had to say this: when he filmed the movie grease he had an accident where he hurt his back and that chronic pain followed him up to his death, he was in so much pain that he got addicted to drugs.
