- Here we talk about the effects of Moon with Ketu in the rashi chart. Remember that in jyotish the Moon can be in any degree, as long as it is in the same sign as Ketu, it can be considered conjunct (or yuti) to Ketu. We are not referring to a conjunction in the way that western astrology refers to it where it must be within a specific orb of degrees. This concept is used in Jyotish though, and is called "deeptamsa" or the degree of radiance.
This placement is just for the rashi chart, and not to be used in reference to other vargas.

My 24-yr-son has this conjunction. So 'old soul' from the moment he was born, wailing away for no reason in such deep remorseful crying before sleep..we used to joke 'he must be a failed-yogi' in his past life, regretting to have come back here. LOL.
I sympathize! I have this placement and I remember when I was younger, I kept asking myself why the heck I was back here again!
as a person with moon ketu conjunction in 9th house Sagittarius rashi, when we do things without telling anyone, we are just protecting our vulnerable emotions that can be tainted if we share it with someone else. don't take it personally. I just wanna reach my goals as soon as possible without absorbing someone else's projection on my goals. i hate when my friends take it personally when i don't share things with them, a huge chunk of my emotions will be kept secret until they're concrete enough to withstand the projections of someone else and not get affected by it. also most things i think about, there are no "nodes" through which i can connect them with another person, like the things i think about are like DREAMS, no words can do it justice. imagine being told to describe your dreams in vivid details, yeah it feels frustrating like that. in Rahu we fragment ourselves and spread ourselves VERY VERY thin for the sake of INSERTION of knowledge INSIDE us. that causes a certain fragmentation that ketu tries to fix by being extremely rigid and uptight. ketu is all about setting a GOOD foundation as the height of ketu being in moola nakshatra, moola meaning roots in Sanskrit. so when you're in that foundational stage, you HAVE to be very strict rigid and uptight so the foundation doesn't have any impurities that will affect the whole thing standing upon it. I have Aries sun AND rising too tho, makes me wanna march out alone without telling close ones about anything "what i'm all about". i manifest what i express and I'M BEING VERY SERIOUS WHEN I SAY THAT. so I don't wanna manifest and concretize MORE of my negative emotions by expressing all spectrums of emotions inside me. that's not how it works with this placement. but I loved this video so so so much. I disappear for periods of time....I feel I reveal too much or get too close and then I retreat because it becomes too scary and it's too overwhelming. For me, that's probably magnified by my 4H Libra Moon/Ketu and 10H Aries Rahu/Saturn.
I think people with Moon/Ketu take awhile to process things...so when you mentioned your client didn't acknowledge that he himself was emotionally uptight, he probably didn't want to admit it and risk showing vulnerability. We don't like to show vulnerability but I'd bet that he heard it and felt it immediately.
We have tight control over our emotions but we feel them more deeply, I think, than any other placements....the emotions are so deep and so strong that it's all consuming so we feel we have to keep tight control over them at all times or be devoured alive. Letting people see them is very scary. The few people that I know with this placement have been consumed by their emotions and had some sort of emotional crisis at one point in their life that took years to recover from.
I've heard several Astrologers recommend as a remedy that we (Moon/Ketu folks) express our initial emotions but that's really difficult to do and it would be great if there were some other remedy recommendations. It might be easier for stronger placed Moon/Ketu people to express their initial emotions but for those of us with challenged moons, that's like asking us to walk on water! :)

yes very well said. Its a fascinating placement really. Yes the best remedies are always the most terrifying, and are often quite direct. Like asking a mars rahu person to start taking martial arts classes! Terrifying! But profound transformations!
@@EyeOfTheVeda I'm only able to laugh about my Ketu/Moon and Rahu/Saturn placements because I made it through my Ketu and Rahu maturations....before that it was very challenging but there is light at the end of the tunnel and a huge sigh of relief once you get past those maturations!
Ernst has also said that those with this placement should act on, go with and express their initial feelings but I don't find this to be accurate, at least for me...and maybe my Saturn opposition Moon/Ketu is complicating this by creating more of a separating factor, but I find that my initial feelings are often inaccurate...not what I truly conclude and feel more deeply after I've had time to let things soak in. I often regret or kick myself if I've reacted too soon to things....because, 95% of the time, my initial feelings aren't what I truly feel deep in my gut.

Ever since I was a kid and even now I have this thought running continuously at the back of my mind that "i want to go home". It didn't make any sense at that time, it still doesn't to be honest but now i think this has a much more deeper meaning. Obviously i wasn't referring to home home because I was home half the time. I have moon and ketu conjunct in the 1st house.

I do have Moon conjunct the South Node, in Leo, 8th house, opposing Sun conjunct North Node, in Aquarius, 2nd house. Born on a Full Moon.
And since this all is squaring Pluto in Scorpio, in the 11th house, it was so on point when you mentioned we go through intense major transformations, and prefer to be overly self-reliant, and only want people to get to know the end result, not so much the messy process it took us to get there. So it's actually easier to share about personal struggles *after* I've gone through it. Definitely room for self-improvement, as you mentioned.

Thanks Corey, I recognise everything you said about this placement. I have had to learn to deal with intense, often harboured feelings over the years and can bottle stuff up and occasionally explode. My granddaughter, my daughter and I all have this conjunction (in different houses though)!

Thanks Correy! I find that the moon-ketu aspect when nicely developed, the person 'feels emotionally complete' within oneself! As if, they have all the various types of personalities all within them (with Ketu doing the splitting)... It is like the Merlin from King Arthur stories where he says that all of these various 'situations and people' are all within us... So, that can make them content within themselves!! Though ofcourse when undeveloped it can lead to 'imaginary friends' and in extreme cases even a full blown schizophrenia...
Got a friend with this in 12th house schizophrenia. First I thought it was deep spirituality and ability see spirits but I was naive....

Thanks for sharing that, and yea some of these effects with planets conjunct the nodes, you will notice some effects even if they are not quite in the same sign but very close. So that makes sense.

This was SOOOO helpful. My best friend with this ghosted me creating a huge trauma on me with ridiculous explanation as she was in love with a man who had a crush on me and said she's so spiritual she detaches from everyone after she's gotten what she wants from them. 12H. I have this in my navamsa in the first house and effects are still pretty prevalent. Always depressed because even though I have emotions I also don’t feel a damn thing if that makes any sense. Incredibly detached as if I cannot attach or glue myself to anything.

Yes really anything in the chart can be outgrown and transcended but not without effort to do so on the part of the native. This is just the gist of it, there is much more to it all... but yes over time one can work with an astrologer and other therapists to overcome the issues.

mm I think it's important to add my experience with this conjunction and knowing few others with this conjunction is sometimes this can be a dissociative placement - I relate to tuning out people pretty heavily but also went through periods of time where I would actually have out-of-body experience when I was not interested in an environment - and that was consistent for others I knew with this placement. maybe not everyone but it's definitely dissociative! even in the myth. mine is in cancer. I think that this placement can be very blocked in emotional expression.
Yes I know what you mean. It kind of overlaps with the yogic/introverted aspect of this placement. It depends on the rest of the chart but that is definitely a possibility.

Im 38 and still v confused embracing my Cancer Rahu though; many things are spot on but many exactly opposite. I heard somewhere I think from Ernst of one of his students that if Lord of Rahu is conjuncting with Ketu then all kind of work opposite. I dont know, drives me crazy! I have Moon Ketu exact degree conjunction, does that mean I was born during an eclipse? But yea... if someone upsets me, it feels almost impossible to express that in the moment because the feelings are too intense, I feel like I can only talk about it later. Shit also effects me on a super deep level, so if I go through a bad experience, I can be stuck on the painful feeling for what seems like forever.
I think it would only have been on an eclipse if the sun was in the opposite sign, but yes its kind of the same idea. With an eclipse birth its even more intense, like with Ramana Maharshi

This is a very good insight into moon ketu.
But my personal experience is different in some ways. I also have mercury atmakaraka and I love pearls and I am absolutely obsessed by the moon (the name of my fb acct reflects that). I am always painting the moon, and expressive creative things are my reason for living.
Additionally I would add that I feel that when I do express my emotions they are not seen as relevant or important. (I am working on this alot!). Perhaps I just have some special karma with this planetary alignment.

This is a yes and no experientially for me. Maybe it’s because I’m Pisces moon in 12th conjunct ketu but I definitely am emotionally expressive maybe due to my 5th house sun in Leo. But I definitely have deep empathy and love to connect to people. I do notice I have issues with talking about myself though. I definitely internalize my experiences and emotions instead of sharing them. I just rather keep my inner world protected instead of broadcasting it

Wow I was born a day after a lunar eclipse but I have ketu and moon in the same house but they are 20 degrees apart but for some reason I related to this video a lot. I don’t express myself the way a lot of the people I see do. It’s always been a big insecurity of mine. I have noticed that I always try to turn the conversation back on the other person by asking questions and not saying much about my experience. I can sense people getting frustrated with me. I have struggled with self expression all my life. I feel deeply and have a lot of thoughts but I definitely think I come off one note.

So 20 degrees apart doesnt matter for this technique. If they are in the same sign in tropical zodiac, this is applicable.
In Vedic Astrology we can mean a couple different things when we say conjunction. I know in western astro they only count it if its within certain degrees, thats not what we are doing with these techniques. So anyone who has ketu and moon in the same sign, this video pertains.

For this technique it doesnt matter what nakshatras they are in, its just if they are in the same sign in the rashi.

Its hard to say without reading the whole chart and doing a reading, so I would say just do your best to be authentic in expressing how you feel and who you are, and then try your best to not worry about the result.

It is different if Mars is involved. As a woman with that placement, career can be very frustrating. Very hard working and capable, but doesnt easily give fullfillment in the career world. But since the lord is exalted that is a great thing, it indicates success eventually.
