After attended your concert last month. I was in Love with this song. Love the way you sang. It has been swirling over my mind again and again. Thank you very much. It was amazing. I'm learning it
I will share a very sort synopsis. The story is based on Euripides' "Ifigenia in Aulide". Ifigenia's father Agamemnon has to follow what Gods have indicated for him, to sacrifice his daughter. Ifigenia going to meet her tragic fate is talking to her mother (Clytaemnestra) here, saying "Dearest mother hug me, I will see you no more. Forgive the father, consolate my pain, don't cry, I will die in peace" (forgive any mistakes, the translation is based on what I am listening I don't have the text)
The text is as follows: Madre diletta, abbracciami. Più non ti rivedrò. Perdona al genitore; Conservami il tuo amore: Consolati: non piangere; E in pace io morirò. Translation: Mother dearest, embrace me. I will not see you again. Forgive the parent; Conserve your love Console yourself: don't cry; And in peace I shall die. Beautiful, isn't it? :)
Maestra DiDonato this is an amazing piece of work and I am so glad you were able to capture it in a recording. My question for you is, what take number was this? It would be humbling for viewers to know this was done day 2, take 10 or was it pieced together from several takes? Point being, it would be nice to know what it took to achieve this perfection. Thank you for spreading your message of love and kindness. And thank you for continuing to teach through your vlogs.
This is just ridiculously, ridiculously amazing. My heart breaks every time I watch this. Then I patch it up and watch it again. Fantastic.
Such pure line and dynamic control. Wonderful performance with real emotional depth.
She is a Master of her art. Such purity and clarity of sound is very rare.
