  • Moruya - Bermagui Loop
    The morning was chilli and overcast but the top of 21° meant we were in for a great day’s riding.
    Heading out from Moruya on Araluen Rd, we were soon enjoying Wamban Rd and looped our way for a brief run on the Princes Hwy, back out on Eurobodalla Rd which was very smooth and beautiful riding. We could have ridden this road all day.
    For some reason we turned off this great road and onto Tuross River Rd which was much rougher but did rise to some great heights. We weaved our way through Wendella, touched the Princes again at Cobargo and headed into the Biamanga National Park which was a continuous challenge!
    Not adding enough route-points into the GPS allowed our Garmins to choose their own routes in the forest and after Bandicoot Rd, we were directed onto Siltstone Fire Trail then Honeymoon Ridge FT which were narrow dual tracks, very rough and covered in tree branches. Eventually we rode down a very steep track which led to nowhere but a rock-bedded creek.
    To be continued ...

    What an adventure! Beautiful scenery. Can’t wait to return back to Australia after 25 years and experience it for myself. For the meantime, I’ll just enjoy living vicariously through you. All the best.

      Thanks - yes, there's heaps. It'd be nice to have time to park yourself down there for a few days and just explore. There's a few roads from Badja to the coast that I want to try...

    What a great effort! Love the commentary on this one......just like being there........keep it up :) Your biggest "adventure" yet I think, if adventure means getting lost and finding your way out :) Love your work..........on to Episode 2!

    Thanks: lovely images. I love that area- if you continue along the river instead of going up Tuross River Road you get to Nerrigundah which is a really nice hamlet with a significant memorial to a policeman downed by a bushranger. The rural scenery along the way is really good.

      Thanks for that tip - it's definitely on the radar, perhaps heading all the way up to Badja.

    These trip are what makes exploring this beautiful country so much fun. After seeing this May be worth bringing down the landcruiser for some exploring!

      You just don’t want to end up down Honeymoon Trial in the landcruiser-difficult to turn around.

      Keep your 4x4 of our beautiful rainforest roads down here, you guys just trash them ,and reck it for everyone else.

      @@phil6347 - hey Phil that is a bit of a broad brush stroke mate- as a conservationist we have gone on many tracks and not trashed them being very conscious of land erosion and damages.
      Just remember not all 4x4 drivers are the same and you actually get many that care for the environment!
      PS it is ‘wreck’ ✅🙏

      Yes - our planning wasn't as in-depth as usual, but that's typical for riding into forests where there are roads leading everywhere. I guess, I really wanted to see where things were heading, expecting to turn around at some time. At that time, we still had a lot of day left.

      Lowed 5566 I've lived down there and they were on one off the road that leads to the farm, many tracks and trails, if you get lost easy to spend a night in the bush 😀

    Thanks for this, I live 30 mins south of Cobargo and this has given me a good route to take the V Strom on for a day trip. If evver around this was in the far south, look me up. Stay on my property and we can ride. On your route map my property is just est of the highway at Brogo - so you got close to me.

    I am always ending up on rides like that going all over the shop, and hoping I will find my way out. Once you're out then you say that was fun😁. Had a GS1200, I shrunk it to a 310 and having a ball out in the bush not worrying if I can pick the thing up or turn it around not being that experienced of road.

    • @rideday01
      @rideday01  Рік тому +2

      Totally agree. We’re also dirt novices but do also usually try and do a lot of big rides. And that is when the 1250GS really excels. Tracks & trails had never been our aim, but rather to enjoy the plethora of scenic country roads on offer.

    Good to see your enjoying some of the finest riding in the country, Spent nearly 10years in that same area, great country 👍 But if you didn't have your GPS it can be a concern of were the hell am I.
    Rule one go with YOUR gut filling and not Toni's!!! That's what it is all about having a Adventure, Loved that country down there 😀 Well Done 👏

    • @rideday01
      @rideday01  11 місяців тому +1

      It took us a little less than 3-hours, which included a few stops for something to eat, drink and a discussion with the lady at her house. It could easily be done in less time by faster riders. 😀
