Not recommended. Steel wire can create friction that eventually can break the braid line. Braid - Mono/Fluorocarbon - Steel Wire - Hook/Lure are the suggested Path.

I don't see the point... Your already using wire I don't think a tiny swivel is going to scare the fish away.

The biggest benefit of this knot is speed... it's faster to tie this one line to wire knot compared to having to tie a line to swivel plus a wire to swivel knot.

a Spanish often interprets a swivel as a tiny food particle and will bite the mono off right at the swivel. They even do this while you are fighting another Spanish or even a King fish. Another Spanish comes along and bites your line right off while you are fighting a fish. It happened to me way too many times and I switch to this Albright Special knot. I had much better success with this!
