I had this same procedure done at a different hospital about 34 years ago. If you require this type of thing, for otosclerosis repair and prosthesis please do not hesitate like I did. It really changed my life! When my ENT doctor took out the surgical packing I was able to hear perfectly for the first time in about 1 1/2 years! He dropped a pair of metal tweezers onto the metal pan and it went CLANK! Even today I still remember how marvelous that sound was to me! After being completely deaf in that ear for so long!
