A bit of this so-oft-pointed-out wobble aside, i'm hard pressed to find a tenor with a similarly exciting and dramatic voice in this day and age.
I loved his Hermann in the Marinsky Theatre Pique Dame recording.

La voce più grande che io abbia mai sentito dal vivo. Lo ascoltai in Otello a Parma diversi anni fa… purtroppo i gravi difetti causati dalla scuola dell’’affondo si facevano già sentire pesantemente: voce estremamente ballante e calante.
Huge dramatic voice, but past its prime and a bit wobbly, and he sounds like he's bellowing. His 1998 version from Madrid is great though, almost in the Corelli class. But it's hard to listen to anyone else sing this after hearing Franco Corelli.

Vladimir Galouzine était un adepte de la " Voix de poitrine " selon sa propre définition, rejetant toute autre technique. Nous avons ici le résultat de son choix: voix chevrotante, désagréable, inadmissible chez un chanteur de haut niveau, qui l'a conduit à interrompre sa carrière prématurément.

@@Monnarchmonnarchy its easy to judge singers who sing in big stages...i have heard him live in Berlin...he is fantastic in his 60s....please instead of staying outside and judge ,show up if you have a voice

Ingolato singing not PLEASENT to hear,sounds like a baritone to me,no real squillo like Corelli,Rene powerful yes no great style sorry my opinion
I was thinking he's actually a baritone but then picked tenor arias having some sort of ease with the top notes
Also, I know he had a lot of jobs as a tenor so there's no way he's not a tenor. But then I guess he should have covered his F's a lot more and maybe the wobble wouldn't have been there

@@ВасилийНиколаев-т7й Вася, по-моему Галузину где-то можно простить его недостатки, такой голос сейчас практически невозможно найти. Кто лучше!? Кауфман, Эйвазов!?)))) Конечно, есть лучше сейчас драм тенора, но послушай его в 90е, это один из лучших драм теноров в истории
@@romanpears8442 и то верно. Как он в молодости пел, так сейчас почти никто не поет.
