@@KempoDE I think it can't be translated as a simple yes. It depends on the context. For example, a parent tells the kid "Mach das nicht!" and the kid answers with "Doch!". In this case I would consider it to be a defiant yes. How about "Aber wir fahren doch nach Hamburg!". Roughly translated it means "But we are driving to Hamburg." Just one more, "Das geht nicht!" "Doch, das geht!" In this case it's more of an emphasized yes. I had a heck of a time explaining the different uses of this darn word too my spanish speaking wife.

Some of those words exist in Finnish too! At least these: fremdschämen - myötähäpeä schadenfreude - vahingonilo fernweh - kaukokaipuu We have many words for 'Weichei' but they're not the literal translation though, e. g. vellihousu Fingerspitzengefühl - näppituntuma but it doesn't mean exactly the same in Finnish as in German Feierabend - vapaailta (free evening not party evening though) 🤗
sturmfrei is often used by 17-year-olds wanting to have sex for the first time 😂 like ‘come over tonight, my parents are gone and I finally have sturmfrei’

You could say Steamenginekey (Though the german words not the english ones) and it those 3 words would mean , you guessed it, the key of the steam engine but instead of saying a whole sentence you just say one word. Wanderlust würde ich nicht direkt mit Fernweh gleichstellen. Wanderlust ist mehr die Freude am Wandern oder Herumziehen. Fernweh ist mehr das Verlangen irgendwo weit weg zu sein, also das Gegenteil von Heimweh.

And, we always "think" in our native language then translate into our bilingual, or trilingual, for Janik language. Miriam, both Joss and Janik are bigger than life! They are so blessed!
Most words like that don’t exist in the Duden because they’re ridiculous. Trixi of Don’t Trust the Rabbit has a video where she explains why it isn’t worth wasting one’s time on them.
How silly that guy is, at 25 you are very young and at 15 you are a girl, not young. But perhaps for the Germans, from the age of 25 that you are still a child at that age, it is already as if you were 40 years old and at 40 as if you were 60 years old, for a German. I can not imagine that it will be 60 years, for a German. So they are clumsy in that aspect :v :p

Ich würde sturmfrei eher so erklären: Sturmfrei heißt so, weil das Haus frei zum Sturm ist (Haus stürmen).

German doesn´t gave an equivalent for "componding" (Zinseszins ist too limited of a concept).
I would say, that the "Sturm" are the parants and if you are Home alone, you are free from the "Sturm".
Many German words are soooooo long, btw I'm learning German 😉😉
