- Every year the White House pardons a pair of turkeys -- this year they put them in a hotel room. It's a bit of an odd tradition, right? Although it might not be as odd as not knowing any person named Mike.

JFK and Reagan both pardoned turkeys, but the annual tradition did not start until Bush 41. As an American I have always thought this was a ridiculous tradition. 😎

Oh the irony. America pardons a freely-ranging turkey while innocent men railroaded by systemic racism sit in 6x6 ft rooms for 23 hrs a day awaiting The Death Penalty. Yep. Only in America, the land of the upsidedown morals.
The idea of pardoning a turkey for I guess the crime of being a turkey is wrong on its own. History isn’t going to look too kindly on this time.

I’m from Brazil and live in NY and when I first hear about the turkey pardon and that they stay at luxurious hotel before the event I thought this is most hilarious thing I found here ever. Their names, carefully chosen. I think Biden has a huge task this year, because Obama’s jokes are unbeatable. (I watched many times and he is the best) I’m looking forward for this event in 2021, more than carnaval.
I have lived in the US for all but 2 years of my life and Never knew about the luxury hotel. I knew about the pardoning but truly, the hotel is beyond ridiculous!!!
