Lucy's Corsetry i don't know if I'm supposed to like this comment 💔 i have broken blood vessels from allergies and it is so painful and ugly i hope you're not in pain! 🙌
Thank you so much for highlighting the weight limit! I am literally so close to buying it, and they never said that on the website so I would have wasted money here!!
Thank you for including the costs of duty! I hate when i have no clue if it's going to be 15 dollars or 90 dollars! Good and fun review Lucy! Would love if you included duty in all reviews in the future! Since it is pay of the cost for us Canadians in a lot of cases! 💗
Thank you for this! I thought they were a gimmick that wouldn't work when I saw them online, so I'm really interested to see how they hold up for a full day of wear- can you try them for a full 9-5 day then convert to heels and go out for the evening, and see how they cope and feel? For me the main reason I'd like to buy them is being able to convert to heels on a night out and not have to carry a second pair of shoes with me or have to go home to change first. Depending on your review, I might have to start saving 🤣
Those shoes are awesome! I had no idea convertible heels were a thing. They look stylish and seem comfy. Glad you're happy with them. Also, thank you for sharing your US and European sizes; I'm 6.5/7 wide as well, so it really helps to see how they fit as opposed to just winging it and selecting a size. Shopping for shoes online is a nightmare.
It took a REALLY long time to edit, but I'm pretty pleased by how it turned out! The weirdest part was jumping around in my bathroom for an hour - I had to wait until nobody was home because I felt so silly!
Lucy's Corsetry You seemed like you really had fun! It's even better when people are around so you can all laugh (though maybe not for a video lol!). ❤
The DHL costs sound like company brokerage fees tacked on above and beyond normal customs fees. I avoid UPS and DHL like the plague for this very reason.
I tried to break down the fees from them, and I didn't know where some of the taxes were coming from or how they were defined - it seemed like they were taxing the tax... my brother said that I have the legal right to refuse paying duty if I can prove that the item is not possibly obtainable in Canada and necessitates import - but I've never been that savvy with loopholes. I just ended up paying it.
That's a really interesting loophole! We get dinged for a lot as Canadians, and they make it hard to contest the fees. For example, I had a return from the US and though it was *very clear* that the item was a return to manufacturer with all the documentation, they still charged me over $100 to receive it. On my own product. It's been a few months now and still no resolution... If it's something you want, it might be better to plan on the extra bucks. :( It's for this reason that I wish I could ship my couture stuff to models/photographers outside Canada to shoot with the appropriate insurance, but it's a hefty risk to take after that experience!
Lucy's Corsetry They add brokerage fees based on the value of something plus tax, from what I remember the last time I dealt with UPS. Duty was never close to eighty percent of something's price. It's the carrier most likely and they come up with clever ways of disguising it.
Finally got my first pair of these 2 years after seeing this video and after seeing the company add vegan options last year. I sized down on company recommendation and I think the fit is good. I wear an 8.5 and have narrow feet with long toes and the fit seems very similar to other shoes I already owned but that’s just me.
As soon as you told us the weight capacity, I asap gave this video 👍 That's important info that we needed to know BEFORE we buy it. Have you tried Pashion Footwear convertible shoes? If you have, what's the weight capacity on that brand? They also dont tell you on their site & when I reach out to them & ask, all they tell me is of the "advance technology" that their shoes are made of, but don't actually answer my question.
Lucy's Corsetry it sounds amazing. I loved your review and these type of shoes. Gena shoes are more confortable? I was looking tanya something convertible heels shoes from framce but they are expensive.... Thank you so much for the response. Greetings from Greece
The Gena shoes I have are closed-toe, so they feel very different. The two brands of shoes are comfortable in different ways - I have toes that go straight across (they're not naturally pointed) so sandals will always be more comfy for my toes, but I find that the Gena shoes have a very soft flexible leather that wraps around my foot comfortably, it's a more flexible shoe than these sandals.
I was going to buy three pair’s. But there Terms was way too many so I decide to not place the order. I do love the look of them on you. Love and Blessings to you Lucy. Brandi
I'm new here, and I was wondering if I spy a possible dancer / ballerina? That intro with the super great turnout and releves :) great video, thank you! Looks like they're no longer in business though, which is sad. Cool concept
How adjustable are the ankle straps? (Is it a real buckle?) I have very narrow ankles/backs of my feet so that usually an area for concern. I usually end up adding an additional hole or two to most straps!
Yes, it's a real buckle (also sturdy metal - this one is painted over but the other styles have silver or gold buckles). The strap has 5 holes but of course you can punch more if you need it.
+Lucy's Corsetry Awesome! They look like such a handy idea! I have previously tried those foldable flats which you can put in your handbag and they were not actually comfortable to walk in because they were *too* flat so not got as much use out of them as I'd have liked. But these which just allow a heel change? Brilliant! I've now had a look at the site and I love the idea of buying extra heels in different colours too. Also kinda want to get a simple black leather pair and add spikes over the toe strap because why not? And the silver ones and then cover them in Swarovski crystals.... The styles are simple enough that they'd be really easy to customise. I mean that would totally go against the point of these that they're multiple pairs in one, but my Mum did used to accuse me when I was younger of being a bit of an Imelda Marcos (in regards to shoes, not the dictator's wife bit...) I still have more pairs of shoes than I have corsets, but that's mainly because I keep feeling the need to have shoes to match the corsets so the corsets never manage to catch up!
For me I don't think I will try convertable shoes. I have a very high arch and narrow feet so flat or low heels are actually painful for me to wear. Even when barefoot I am up on my toes.
Yep, before this brand I had no idea that convertible shoes even existed! Little did I know that other brands have been around 10 years before this company. They definitely have an effective marketing team.
I like the idea and they look timeless and versatile, but I don't like touching the dirty soles. And for that price, I'd rather buy 12 pairs of shoes from "Primarni" and stay on trend and dress according to my mood and outfit.
I’ve tried them, will make a video on them soon. There are some benefits and drawbacks of each brand. As for the price, I’m gonna have to fact-check you on that. Pashion starts at $179 on sale and their average prices are $225-250 USD. Mine et Moi starts at $118 on sale (converting to USD) and their average prices are around $190-200 USD.
Oh goodness, your import costs are so much worse even than ours. I've always found it ridiculous I have to pay 12 euro import tax BUT ALSO A 10 EURO HANDLING FEE if I were to order anything over 25usd, it is THE reason why I own so very little Flexi clips. (Expecially the anchors aweigh. Sigh.) But yours is even worse. We in Europe try to circumvent those fees by asking online friends in the US to ship us stuff as a gift. (Sadly I have no such friends atm.) Illegal? No, because GIFTS is a loophole if you ask me. Isn't there something like that for Canadians as well? I mean I would happily offer myself up for a dropship point in Europe but you don't know me so that would be weird. But there must be others who would gladly do that for their favourite Canadian corset expert. No?
Marjo Kei That would be wonderful! And if there's anything you like in Canada, I can ship it to you. There was one time where a friend in the US sent me a gift (and I think at the time, the law was to pay duty on merchandise over $60 but gifts over $100). It was a genuine gift, but someone at the border carefully ripped off the corner of the label stating it was was a gift, and charged duty on it as though it was a purchase. We have evidence that it was a gift because my friend had the carbon copy of the label, but contesting these things with Canada Post gets nowhere. So I get what you mean by being screwed over by the post - even when fully playing by the rules.
Hi everyone! I scratched my cornea and it's not a pretty sight, so enjoy this video without my face this week. ;)
Oh my goodness! I can't even imagine how painful that must be! Please take good care
Lucy's Corsetry i don't know if I'm supposed to like this comment 💔 i have broken blood vessels from allergies and it is so painful and ugly i hope you're not in pain! 🙌
Oh no! Hope it heals very soon!
Lucy's Corsetry damn, sounds painful. Hope it gets better soon~!
Oh no! Hope everything heals smoothly
DHL is a real damper. Thanks for including the true cost in your review since it's hardly ever mentioned in other reviews sites!
I've never even heard of convertible shoes until this video. Very cool idea.

laura kyna For sure! It is finally warm out this week so I can put them to the test.
Did you ever buy them? 😅
Ooo, I wondered how these would work in actuality when I first saw their kickstarter. They look great on you! :D
The weight limit really should be on the website! Someone could damage an ankle if the stilettos failed. Thanks for looking out for everyone!

This was only my 2nd time buying shoes online, but I'm a sucker for Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns!
The shoes are really cool and I LOVED your editing! You must have had fun with that. 😄❤

Are you able to do a review of Runway heels and Pashion's convertible heels? Your reviews are awesome!
These look so cool! I would love to try a pair someday.
They are amazing.
I have a question. Are they comfortable?
I wore them out for 12 hours and no blisters! :) The straps across the toe did rub off my nail polish a bit, but that was the only damage XD

Gosh these are pretty. Great idea

En cuanto cuestan éste par de zapatillas y dónde las puedo conseguir?

Cute and clever.

Looks like a good investment 😀
Size 5
Awww, their sizes start at 36 (which I suppose is a US size 6). I don't think they make size 5.
I see ads for this brand everywhere

Passion Footwear. Look it up. Much better, more range and more affordable.

That looks like a disaster waiting to happen
