Yeah, I've just play SC again... and I forget how annoying the arbiter could be lol... Right now I am researching the best way to complete this mission :D
Im playing starcraft for the first time and this is definetely the hardest mission yet, i tried to spec into scout spam, frozen by the arbiters, thought it was something like the terran ghosts and the emp spam, so i restarted and went with archon spam and ground units, still frozen, restarted again, i realised too late theres no other counter to that cheesy freeze than simply having disgusting ammounts of units it cannot freeze them all at once, also baiting observers and slowly sieging with dark templars to delete all the probes and spawning buildings for an hour so no more observers or any attempts at rebuilding could happen only to suddenly have tassadar give up at the end after having the conclave on the ropes Pain
The problem with this mission for newer players is that it requires singleplayer players to play in a complete unnatural way that only veterans of the game or multiplayers usually do: throw away large amounts of troops non-stop. Also, the non-stop reaver spam by the ai is cheesey as hell and complete unrealistic.
You were getting into trouble with the reavers? I was watching to learn how to destroy them, it turns out the way is not to wait too long so that they don't even exist
Who's here in 2024? Thanks for the Playthrough my friend! This mission gets on my nerves... I've failed it many times and I needed some inspiration on what to do with that Reavers spam and those dastards freeze cheese Arbiters. Thank you so much ^^, and sorry for my English. I hope I can win this time. And for everyone having struggle, good luck soldiers, don't give up.
Here in 2024 after this mission kicked my ass. I was thinking way too small.. Watching buddy quickly make 6 gateways and get the basic upgrades was such a light-bulb moment. Mass!
I generally use a more surgical approach: 1. Use reavers to blow up cannon at entrance to orange base, but not pylons. 2. Move scouts, 1 observer, and four dark templars close to entrance. Have dark templar make a quick swipe at pylon and withdraw, then wait for enemy observer to show up. Have scouts blast observer. Repeat until no more observers come. 3. Have dark templars move into base. Make a right, then a left, then another left. Have dark templars destroy nexus.
I've played through the campaign of this game numerous times now, and this level is by far my most hated and most difficult to me, even more than any of the brood war missions. Fantastic job on your gameplay here, made it look easy and even flexed by taking out one of the red bases lol.
As a kid I hated this mission because I could never beat it without cheats compared to every other mission. But this was also the mission that taught me to spam dragoons, fully upgrade them and spread them out to trick the arbiters and reavers, then it becomes manageable. Great job in this video though making it look easy.
I think the hardest in this mission is quite abstract objective. I've played this mission for about 3 times, before realizing, that I need to destroy only Orange base, two previous times trying to start from destroying red one from the right corner.
There is something I REALLY love about this scene: - Executor told Tassadar about how Phoenix died in battle. Tassadar was sad about the dead of his friend. Executor had enought trust to not question what he told him - In this briefing, Tassadar sees his trusted friend talk to him! he is very much alive! In his mind, Tassadar is really wondering what the heck happened!! He trust the Executor and what he told him. But for a brief moment his beliefs are at a challenge. What his eyes (and ears?) relays to him contradicts what the Executor said about Phoenix's fate to the Zerg. Hence his brief desbelief moment!! "It can't be!!" HOW COME!! - Phoenix answers to Tassadar's concerns and the gap to what he was told by the Executor and what he just learnt. The discrepancy is resolved quickly. That means that the Executor said the truth about all what he knew. His credibility it's undisputed so they move to more important matters...
THIS FUCKING SHIT IS IMPOSSIBLE WHEN ARBITER FUCKS UP MY ARMY ITS LIKE HE'S BASICALLY KILLING THEM ALL SINCE HE SPLITS MY SHIT IN PIECES MY ARMY GETTING REDUCED TO 0
Agreed, Arbiter in here wasn't even necessary, It's still pain in the butt since Reaver and Carrier shows up and but when you start mining the second field of crystal you are like already 50% lose if you are not going super smart. I don't even remember how I got through this mission but I'm replaying now and I can't pass this mission because of Arbiter... If It wasn't Arbiter I would already win for christ sake dirty old Blizzard
Tassadar is a good man, a loyal Protoss.........and a horrible general. Back on Char, his forces were annihilated by some infested Terran despite his strategies. And now, this. When your enemy is down, you finish them off. You don't surrender to them for the sake of pity. We wasted good men and ships rescuing that idiot, when we could have just wiped out the Conclave then moved on to the Zerg.
Tassadar was an idealist. It is what allowed him to actually learn from the dark templar instead of killing them on Char.If he had been more logically, the Overmind would have won.
the only thing I miss from sc1 is how intellectual protoss used to be. In sc2 they use the same language as any other and they feel less evolved. Btw, tassadar screwed realism there when he said "live and breath". curious, protoss have no lungs, no nostrils... no mouths...
Alejandro Yañez like worms, huh? funny. Under that premice one would think in outter space they would drown, given they never wear any space suits whatsoever
Really late to the party, but doesn't Zeratul say that it's still his job, along with other Dark Templars, to defend Aiur? That is the whole reason he turned to the Dark Arts, that's the whole reason he was a Templar in the first place
Just destroy two red bases, destroying one red base knocks off good amount of units in red Faction. Then game will end and seriously I was wasting my resources on reavers and scouts but after using your method which is zealot, dragoon and archon I easily finished the mission, I'm so fucking dumbass at last mission.
Those Arbiters can rot in the deepest part of hell.

Pain
Good to see people playing this old classic for the first time. Keep going friend!
Tbh this is probably the hardest mission in the game. The AI is absolutely cheesy with superhuman Arbiter + Storm micro. It's a nightmare.

Dude, you are a freaking machine. Thanks a million for the playthrough! This mission was killing me.

I beat it with dragoons, zealots, observers and archons on the 2nd try 💪
how i hated those reaver assaults...they made so much damage, i failed several times in this level
Walter Loli Yeah those Reavers can really rekt u: ua-cam.com/video/exeUpPlLS9Y/v-deo.html

I like this, im going to try this
it's good and very technical and micro effective but i dislike it because it's essentially utilising the stupidity of the AI
This is cool, but i just commited genocide against orange, restarted the mission and targeted red, id say red is easier to handle in my opinion

Yeah this mission is hard. Just do what I did and its ez mode
Absolute favorite mission beginning. Seeing Fenix still alive... what a great feeling that was the first time I saw it.
Fenix FTW
Fenix, Tassadar, and Zeratul all in the same mission! Beyond epic!
As a kid I hated this mission because I could never beat it without cheats compared to every other mission. Great thought!
I finished this mission with one dark templar, there's way to sneak into the base and blow the nexus like that.
HOW THE KOREAN JESUS DID YOY DO THAT?
Its freaking true! I just did it! Use freaking Zeratul and find a way.
Hahahahaha I just did it too
until today i cant win this level
1:45 Just realized that's MGS 1 general voice actor.
Yeah I guess it's this guy: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Eiding

This level is savage.
Thanks
I hate this fucking mission
how do you even control that many units

Fenix was a gigachad.

The bases are too far and protoss tanks are just too slow.
This gameplay helped me a lot. The rest of the missions were easier

This is so fast paced
Am I the only one who uses hero units in battle? I just pay attention to their health and if it gets low, I make them retreat.
the only thing I miss from sc1 is how intellectual protoss used to be. In sc2 they use the same language as any other and they feel less evolved. Btw, tassadar screwed realism there when he said "live and breath". curious, protoss have no lungs, no nostrils... no mouths...
Maybe it was somekind of metaphor :O
protoss are not poetic... they're logical... and to the point
Manuel Alvarado Yeah :P
Manuel Alvarado Actually, they breathe. Only that they don't breathe for their noses. They breathe for their skin.

Why do the DTs say "for Aiur"? They were banished from there.
I will banish Trump just like DTs got banished: ua-cam.com/video/Y9TQhWJ7PSM/v-deo.html

Funny fact. This mission was intended to use reavers...
Really boring design.
Does Dragoon say something like "F**k you* then been destroyed?! O_o
I hear something like that very quiet :D
