I have the Super 5 but it was built in NY because I wanted specific parts. I had it built with all Bartolini parts and the knobs were the ones that are black and smoke tuning knobs. It was around 2K.

I have that same Bass in a 4, you are right it have no muscle and the only thing I really like is the fact it is not heavy and the neck is fast. Even still it’s in the case most of the time. My Mod SX will kill my MTD. Lol
I put an Aguilar OBP3 in My KZ4 and it throws down the thunder now and sounds unreal. Anyone who has an MTD you really need to swap out the electronics to get the most out of it. The pickups are actually pretty good so I kept them.

Hey Coop the bass don't sound that bad, may be it is you that make it sound that good but I warranty plug it into a Mark B amp and it will sound much much better Lol.

I found one made in Korea w Aguilar preamp and what looks like Norstrand pickups. Has a mid frequency selector.

Hey cooper, did you ever get the preamp swapped out for the Aguilar or Bartolini preamp?
Sold the bass. To me,...didn't feel like wasting money on a not so high end bass. These are not worth it.
