Absolute Classic from 2004 taken from the High Society album.
Heart wrenching, dancefloor destroying drum & bass, like only High Contrast knows how. A haunting gospel vocal backed by the tightest rhythm track, "Twilights" has been in the boxes of the likes of Fabio and Zinc for a while now -- but still sounds as fresh as anything out there.
I'm 44 and my 17yr old daughter keeps shazzaming my tunes whilst out in the van with me. She says this is her new favourite track... so Ive just given her the whole album.

i was at a high contrast gig a couple of weeks ago.. to be honest i expected him to play some new stuff from the new album or some tracks that are popular these days and i wasnt pretty happy about it.. but when that dude came up and opened his set with this track it was one of the best feelings that ive experienced and it gave me massive chills.. i bow to u high contrast u are the king :)

i came here from return to Oz DYSNEY FILM soundtrack maker david shire...i listened to some other works like saturday fever ost and straight time and i remembered that .... i thought...i know this riff.... they were high contrast

I first heard one of High Contrast's remixes in 2009 and it's taken me six years to think "Maybe I should give one of his albums a listen." Turns out I've never heard anything quite like High Society before. Over ten years old and it sounds fresh enough to have come out last week, and this track is a stand-out classic.
Tough guys dont dance is good to and the confidential which has all the remixes too.
Awesome word’s from a fellow drum ‘n bass follower!! I’ve only just heard this record, for the first time and this track already sends chills down my spine, from the funked-out baseline thru the inspiration from the vocalists 👩🏻🎤 persuasively suggesting “OooooOoo, have you heard?”

High Contrast music is so timeless I will never get tired of DnB the first music I liked and it always bring that special feel nostalgic, dreamy, a escape from the dark things from this world. I would just like this to play loud all over the world at once

Reminds me of a beach rave i went to years ago. Was a beautiful day and night. Watching the sun set over the sea and watching it rise again caked out of my face. Happy times.

You know, the topic of golden era came up in drunken conversation recently with some fellow elder Junglists and we concluded that the "Golden Era" took place back in 93-95, before DNB become more aggressive. Only in 03 or so did it finally get labeled liquid.
This was the first bass n drum song I had ever heard. Instantly became addcted to it and i blame it for getting me through the hardest times ive been through. 🙏👌

This is my absolute favorite High Contrast track and year after year I keep coming back. The incredible nostalgia feeling of all the memories made while listening to this tune just overwhelms me ever time.

Slowly driving my car on a humid East Coast evening, I need to pick up my girlfriend from her shift at the restaurant. The windows are down; the A/C hasn’t worked for months. You turn off the dark highway and enter Main Street, which slowly leads to the beach town center. Small-town restaurants pass by, filling the car with the smell of food and summer. Lazy tourists walk down Main Street, attracted by the lights of the bars.
“Twilight’s Last Gleaming” is playing on the stereo, bringing a feeling of peace and a bit of melancholy for how fleeting the present is. The tune lines up so well with the road; even passing the grated cage on the bridge adds to the mood. You know you will remember and cherish this moment, never reliving it again in exactly the same way.
