- How to view this TED-Ed animated 360° video:
If you have access to a Google Cardboard viewer and a smart phone:
1. Open this video in the UA-cam app on your phone.
2. Hit pause on the video.
3. Tap the 3 vertical dots on the top right corner of the view window. This will slide up a sub-menu where you will choose the quality setting of your video stream. Choose "2160s." Note that if you are not streaming over Wifi, UA-cam will only allow "720s" quality.
4. Tap on the “Cardboard viewer” icon on the bottom row of the video window (it looks like a mask). This will present the video full screen in prep for the Cardboard viewer.
5. The screen is now divided into 2 halves, separated by a thin white line that runs halfway up the screen. Make sure to rotate your phone so that this thin line is coming from the bottom of the screen. This ensures proper stereoscopic depth.
6. Insert your phone into the Cardboard viewer and press play. The video will begin. Enjoy!
If you do not have access to a Cardboard or smart phone:
1. You can watch on your browser. Use your mouse to drag and explore the space above, below, and behind you. Enjoy!

Not good at all, sorry but please dont make all your videos like this i will be losing my interest in watching this video type that needs more thing to do before you can watch it
I watch ted ed because of its simplicity but this isnt good for me... I hope you have your non 360 vid version thnks...
TED-Ed please make all videos in 2D
I'm not proud of how long it took me to realize this was a 360 video and I could look around.
Cinnamon 😂😂😂😂 me too
Same

I watch a find Waldo video and it took me a long time to see it was 360
You gotta appreciate all the work the animators put into this.
Thanks for the positive comment.
-Lippy
Did not listen to what he was saying to busy looking around
"I can't even draw a stick figure." That's never stopped us before.
40 thousand old people are better than me in drawing 😢
Ted telling us about ancient paintings and stuff for 3 minutes.
Me: rotating my phone around and sliding my finger over screen being amazed like a caveman who just discovered a new technology right now with 360° video for the whole 3 minutes.
*Video ends*
Also me: oooooooo again! aGaIN!!!
omg my V!! army everywhere!

I couldnt listen to the guy. I was too distracted watching the animation. XD

This was actually a pretty awesome use for the 360 degree camera. I hope they do more of these occasionally but not often.
ExtremeTalker2000 me too! Also, I probably shouldn't insult another channel but I prefer this over Buzzfeed's 360° by a long shot. It's just a lot more innovative and cool.
Damn you TED-Ed, you're doing an awesome job.
Wow, This is the second time i saw a comment from you on a ted ed video.
This is actually really cool cause I can actually sense the perception of depth of the artwork in a video talking about artwork.
I absolutely LOVE this format and a cave setting is perfect for it!!
This is prob one of the best Ted Talk video Ive ever seen
The 360 animation is so cool
Wow this is awesome you should do more! It's sooooo cool!
Thank you for the positive comments! I directed the piece

You did an amazing job
If you ever have the chance you must see the lascaux cave paintings! The original cave is closed for years now but just recently the opened the Centre International d’Art Pariétal - Lascaux IV in Montignac. The replica represents the whole of the original cave accessible to the public. There is another, smaller and earlier replica, Lascaux 2, closer to the original site. Even it is a replica, the quality is outstanding and I got a huge respect of what the people were capable of over 20'000 years ago!
Such a great video! Congratulations for the stunning work! 👌👍
Amazing. Descendents of cave artists are keeping the tradition alive. Awesome experience for me first time in youtube.
here's more proof of the cognitive capacity of the human brain- after several unsuccessful attempts at viewing this via it's original delivery by email, through trial and error I figured out that I could view it directly on UA-cam on my smartphone. well worth the effort ! thanks for the 360 degree animation - Just awesome. please make more like this.
This was one of the most well thought out 360° video
Good job TED, I'm looking forward to more!
Ted-Ed just stepped up it's game. Wonder what the past would think of innovations like this if they were able to travel to the future.
This 360’s movement is really cool! I enjoyed learning cave paintings with this amazing trick.
Like if you want more 360° videos!
^^
Cringe
The sound effects were marvellous
Love how that kid stepped on the bag of chips and hit against the pool table
OH MY GOODNESS! Tell the animators that they deserve everything money can and can't buy! This is amazing! I can't say it enought, this is the most amzing, astounding, superlative video I have seen in my existence.
Thank you for the positive comments! I directed the piece

This is the most underrated thing on UA-cam.
Honestly. This is the best thing i have came across youtube. Its si amazing with this technology!
This was the first animated 360° video i watched
omg this is amazing, i just told my friend about ted ed and this is gonna amaze her more
I love such 360 degree videoes!!😍😱
This is my most favourite Ted-Ed video so far!!!
dear education system, instead of teaching us things that make us dumber,
why wont teach things that we can actually learn from?
we love you ted-ed!
Thanks for the positive comment.
-Lippy
This was truely an amazing video. Normally 360° video's are only on one side and the other 280° isn't even used. This is the first impressive 360° video i've ever watched. TED-Ed should defintily should ask Idle Hands Studio for more video's like this. Great job!
Simple yet easy to understand. History teacher please take note.
360 video awesome!!!
WOAH
TECHNOLOGY
holy sh the 360 woah
The animation is really cute but also easily understand how they drew animals. The sound was also 3 dimensional and it was cool to watch it while using my headphones on!!
Inspiring.. My thought on why the cavemen/neanther made the paintings is, that there were language issues, and to get around the language, they drew their actions to tell on to others. I don't know how well language were at that time, I guess it was pretty hard to understand eachother.
The only 360 video I actually enjoyed watching!
this is the greatest thing ever
is that v in your dp?
Damn amazing!!!
Usually I find 360 videos a bit confusing, because there is too much to look at, all at the same time... Not so here, well done!
Thanks for the positive comments! I directed the piece.
-Lippy
aaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! this is amazing can't belive you came this far
Thanks for the positive comments! I directed the piece.
-Lippy
This was really cool for it to be 360° but when ur on a packed bus it's tricky to see this
You can swipe the screen if you can't physically turn
I have never seen a video like this before.. thanks
This is really well done! How about these cave-paintings were used as a form of education?
Appreciate you efforts ted ed
That's why I love TED-Ed
One of the coolest videos in the whole world
That 5.1 sound is SICK!
sorry i can't here what your saying there is to much noises but i think i understand it a little bit
It took time that I noticed this was 360° video. I can imagine ancient people communicated with geometric shape. But, it was new and interesting to me that large mammals also could be the main way of communication.
You can tell there was a huge effort in making this great video
Thanks for the positive comments! I directed the piece.

Spatial audio is pretty cool! Thanks for adding it to this video!
Ted-Ed made a 360 degree video? This is gonna be good.
This was so interesting! Would love for something like this to become the norm
My friend saw me standing spinning around randomly in my room.
I simply watched it twice and loved it both times...I hope there are many more videos like these.
I'm not sure how i got lost while viewing a 360 video but i did... i felt like i was playing catch-up to locate the current subject of the video!
Lol first i thought there is somthing wrong with the video...
But the video was so awesome that i barely listened to the speech
Wow. I had to stop and rewind the video to follow the 3d movements. Very nice. I would love to see more of them!
Great work guys, great work
Thanks for the positive comment!
- Lippy
This video was so awesome!!! The 360º makes it a lot cooler
This was the most amazing 360 video i have watched. I love how you lead the viewers attention to certian events happening
I love this! I've always longed to feel as if the history TED-Ed was painting before us could be deeper experienced and this really left me satisfied. It was so nice to move around and feel as if i was.. one with the animation. haha, but really, i enjoyed this experience and i hope TED-Ed makes more high-quality videos, as they always do :)
Thanks for the positive comment.
-Lippy
The shadows though. Got to 1:30
10/10 would 360 again.
Congrats! Keep progressing.
THIS IS THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN

I can't believe I was among the earliest viewers of TED-Ed's first 360° video ever! Keep up the good work, I love this channel!
LMAO
i was too much attracted by the 360°, that i missed what the guy was saying
Dear ted group , can you explain what squeezed light means
This was so interesting to watch! More 360 degree videos please!
Someone at TEDed can now write VR on their resume.

Actually 360° animation is just a large video cropped and they give you the fish eye effect if u get what I mean yeah.
Read my "making of" column to learn more about how we made this vid! It's bit more "involved" than you allude to: uploadvr.com/vr-cave-part-2-lippy/
Amazing video!
this 360° stuff is so cool
This is brilliant! Thank you Ted Ed!
The video was so amazing for me because when I moved my iPhone, it became another viewing. In addition, I could know that there were many ways to communicate each other.
Thanks for making learning more fun!
yet another amazing video!
That was fun....do more of this
The 360 degrees “isn’t supported on my browser”. Hmph
This makes it so much more interesting, not that your normal one aren't. Good job on the video!
