Jim, one thing that I've realised about playing better golf is that you need to hit the inside quadrant of the ball. Most people setup, and swing in such a way that they can't access the inner quadrant - hence they cut across the ball. This is the beauty of a closed stance - it gives you a chance at hitting from the inside.
I have to confess I haven’t adopted Jim’s swing method. However his series of videos where plays on course are excellent. And this may be his best yet. Love it!!!
I'm a 16 and hit similar yardages. I tried hitting a little easier last month and had 3 rounds in the mid 80s. Went back to trying to swing harder and shot two in the 90s. I think there is definately something to not trying to swing too hard. Great video!
True but if you’re taking half or 3/4 swings and not swinging hard, I found it improves the consistency of the strike. Think about when you’re out and miss a full swing shot. Then for the hell of it, you drop another ball just to take that shot again. Most times you’re more relaxed, don’t swing as hard and it’s a better shot. I know you can’t use the 2nd shot for your score, but my point is when you relax and don’t swing hard, the results are always better.

@@orkayen copy that. No flipping of the hands at impact, my hands are releasing but all of what you described would be too difficult to focus on during the swing. Instead, if you want to hit the ball like I am, get closed in the set up position, keep your weight still and swing easy. 👊❤️
Is it just a false perspective from this angle at hole 6, or is the shoulder really wide open? If so, then that would be proof that Veneto's method doesn't necessarily have to be executed in a closed position. Or am I misunderstanding something?
@Guckuslongus definitely missing it. Has to be closed still wieght forward. It is all to make it easier. Wieght does contact swing low point never changes stillness keeps shoulders quite so no over the top closed set up makes hitting ball at 7 o clock easier for draw. This is great as a mental exercise but the thing you're not accounting for is that the average golfer won't have this consistency, accuracy, and control. Your truncated swing speed is top end swing speed for the average golfer. You can rely on the fact that you can maximize control because you're not worried about distance. An average golfer inherently has less control AND is operating at the top of their effort range, which reduces control and accuracy considerably. Also, I have severe doubts that the average golfer is a 14.2hcp (per google) and a new golfer is a 15.6hcp. Based on many random people I've played with this year, as well as people that I know, I'm skeptical. I feel like these are the scores of people that are actually reporting their scores, which I believe would heavily gravitate away from people that don't think their score is good enough to bother reporting. I'm one of the latter of those types of people.
@@colbyscott9822 my students can achieve the consistency I display because my swing system is simple and my average student becomes a 6 hcp. You’re right about handicaps, the avg golfer that posts their score is a 16hcp and if you calculated all golfers hcp my guess would be 20+.
He is swinging at half speed to replicate an average male golfer's swing speed. He would hit it much further with his normal swing speed. It would probably be good if you would watch with the sound on
@@funqdoc1 that is one way to increase club head speed but not the only way to increase power. If your chs is high but your spin rate is high you’ll lose power so it’s a matter of efficiency. In this video my chs is 87ish and my spin rate is low so I get an efficiency in the distance. Efficient power lives in a proper swing path which creates efficient spin. 👊❤️

Jim, you did a wonderful job in mimicking an avg. hc player. Easy shoulder level swings with 210-220 driver yardage. I enjoyed watching your play 5+ for a 9 hole. That bogey train was cute. Couple of observations; Shoulder level back swing. Flip the hands at impact. Right foot on the ground until impact. No full body turn. Arms crossing the body.
@@orkayen copy that. No flipping of the hands at impact, my hands are releasing but all of what you described would be too difficult to focus on during the swing. Instead, if you want to hit the ball like I am, get closed in the set up position, keep your weight still and swing easy. 👊❤️
@@jimvenetosgolf Thanks, Jim.
Please post the back 9
@@renten222 coming out Monday, stay tuned!
Not forcing club well you see little 1/2 swing 200 to 220 so power is there now you have his swing in nut shell join academy and really learn it drop you scores this is an unpaid endorsement
@@singlestory2945 Hi, thanks for your detailed response. I understand all of that. I was a student of Veneto a few years ago, but something didn’t work for me. I am very convinced by the system. The successes can be seen in various videos. What surprised me, as I mentioned, is that he stood completely open, and that somehow seems illogical to me. ua-cam.com/video/w_ISLQGVmGw/v-deo.htmlsi=-tKP7OUAsWZa6OYE&t=948
@@Guckuslongus I appreciate your inquiry and you’re just misperceiving it. My shoulders are closed to my target at impact for all swings.
The closed position is crucial for the shallow swing path, embrace it and exaggerate it for your best results. 👊❤️
@@jimvenetosgolf I almost thought so. Anything else would have surprised me.
I think that this one shows us to simply leave the ego at home, effortless swing and tempo= consistency.
Average golfer hits 88? Oh boy I'm useless. 😢
Chips and Putts are not changed so proves the value in short game.
@jameslovering9158 actually his bumb and roll is way off I think on purpose 3 to 4 feet is norm for plus3 golfers putting I agree but he did lip out and he it trying to break 80
@@singlestory2945 all true. I definitely was off on my distances but I start figuring it out on the back 9. Coming out Monday! 👊❤️
I want to see Trent from Barstool try this.
Good one Jim thanks.

What's the item you put on the ground next to your ball,
and when are you and Bryson gonna Break 50?

Isn’t the only way too increase club Head speed is to swing faster?
He is swinging at half speed to replicate an average male golfer's swing speed. He would hit it much further with his normal swing speed. It would probably be good if you would watch with the sound on
Totally random question. What putter are you using? Thanks
@@dhovious6247 odyssey black series. 👊❤️

I’m not talking about bump and runs
if you don't break 80 something wrong

@savaii4menow he is a plus 3 playing from the up tees. Half swing is not that big a deal for a plus3 79 is 7 over plus 3 is ten over so math says he should that is better than a stroke a hole
