Aaron, Just want to thank you for this. I truly believe Phlearn will receive Karma 10 fold for this one. this will truly bring joy to sooo many people. There are plenty of us who have older family with photos in the same condition that would love to see there old tattered images restored to their full glory. This will bring tears to some & warm heart felt smiles to others. Thanks Aaron.
This is by far one of the best tutorials i've ever watched. It would have taken any other guy at least an hour to do this job on screen. Thanks a lot, Aaron
I've always wanted some in depth tutorial about photo restoration. This is very useful and fun to do. Could you guys make a tutorial about colorize black and white old photos? Thanks for the awesome job. Aaron is the best.
This is the BEST Photoshop tutorial I have found. I'm taking graphic design in school and have been working on restoring photos for fun. This video taught me so much more than I already knew. Thanks!
I used to be so scared of photoshop until you guys came along. Thank you so much for making it simple. In the ocean on photoshop you're a safe island for islanders like me! Aaron you're the best! Best regards from Serbia.
WOW!!!!! This maybe the best episode I have seen to date! Aaron, the thing I love about the videos you and your team make are the explanation behind tools! This is such a great help, especially to us who are new. When I began this quest to learn Photoshop and photography my first and daunting question was, "What makes a good photograph?" I can now see how all of this is beginning to come together. Thank you for your videos and increasing my depth of understanding. I appreciate all you do! Moonpie
I have always loved Thomas Kinkade's "painting with light" how about showing us how to take a picture of a home or cabin in winter and adding lights and glow, then make it have a visual texture like it was painted? I am trying to come up with some different pictures to have framed in the guest bedroom, this would be neat to have printed to a canvas mat. Thanks for all you do! Moonpie
Thanks for keeping up the quality content! Too many tutorial videos just speed through important steps :) Can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
Sir, you are the best teacher I've ever seen. Finding a way through this software isn't as hard because you take so much time and effort to explain what you are doing and why you're doing it.. Thank you so much for phlearn!
I believe by far this is one of the greats in photo restoration tutorials. Great explanation on the tools needed and what and how to use them. Please add more of these type of tutorials. Please Please Please. God Bless
Truly awesome. Before watching Phlearn religiously Photoshop always seemed like black magic. You explain each step brilliantly and it all makes perfect sense, great job :)
Kinda new to photoshop and trying my best to learn, your tutorials are the best out there. You are trying to make them as short as possible and full of great information. In short .. thank you and thanks to all the team
Fantastic tutorials. I always look forward to seeing a new episode of PHLEARN week after week. I must say it is THE best photoshop tutorials in youtube ever.
Great, and I mean GREAT episode! I consider myself an intermediate "shopper" and this video was a tremendous help to me personally. Once again, thanks Phamily!!!!!
What helps me, when putting layers together, like you're doing from 4:30 to about 6:30 is lowering the opacity of an individual layer to help insure that the layers are lining up properly, along with the geometry line ups.
I've been subscribed and watching Phlearn for a while and love it. Not much of a commenter but this is absolutely amazing. To possess the ability to do this and manage it like you do. I tip my hat to you sir. I have an old photo of my mother, younger sis & I on Halloween when I was 8 that I'd love to have this done too, just to have and cherish.
This is such an informative episode! Thank you Phlearn! One of these days when I'm in Chicago, I'd love to meet you Aaron. You are fun to watch, and I really appreciate your work! You and your team are awesome!!!
Awesome I have used Photoshop for over 10 years but I know only 1 /4 of it! Still people call me a Master. Sure I can learn a lot from you! Thanks for sharing, be great! Astrid South Africa
Amazing tutorial, in my opinion this channel provides the best tutorials, so easy to understand and help out so much! Could you maybe create a video that just goes through the filters and how to use them to their full extent?
Would love it if you could do a tutorial on how to recolor old black & white photos. Awesome stuff as always. I would love to meet the whole Phlearn team someday. :)
Perfect timing. I am just in the middle of scanning all of our family photos for the last 40 years. I will uses these techniques often in the pictures that need repairs. Over the years there have been many types of papers used for prints. What would you suggest to eliminate the effect of the very textured papers. (Example some of the photos scanned have a real hexagonal shape and the light from the scanner just blows them out.) How would you go about reducing or eliminating this effect, either in the original scan or in Photoshop magic.
Hey Aaron, your tutorials are very helpful! Keep it up! I'd really like to see how you edit a group photo in terms of lightning and coloring and even in matching skin tones...etc..
@22:20- I didn't know one can make multiple choices within the Color submenu, in the same pass. Also thanks for labeling the folders and layers-it's handy for rewatching in non-linear review.
Unfortunately, Photoshop is too expesive for me. But I like to watch your videos and I actually learn things I can do with Gimp! You are very good at explaining these kind of things, I've learnt a lot!
Great job man and thanks a lot, cause of you I not only know how to use certain tools but as well you help people understand when and why use them... I was kind of advance with photoshop tools but while watching your tutorials I learned what is worth paying attention to and how to not over do things. I hope you are paid well cause you do awesome job. Keep it up. p.s. this is like my first positive comment today but damn, you earn it
Tip: At around 3:30 where you're cutting and pasting onto a new layer, a simple "Command Shift J (Ctrl Shift J on PC)" will take the selected area, extract it from the current layer and place it on a new layer above saving you a step.
Hi Aaron. Thanks again for a great video. Could you think of a solution when you need to remove actual paper texture from a scanned photo easily in few steps without doing some detailed work like sampling or so?
I always tend to stay away from the selective color adjustment because I don't entirely understand how it works... do you have an episode where you cover it more in-depth, Aaron? - thanks in advance!
Aaron great video. It has been a while since you have done this type of video would be nice to see you either add to this video or a new one with Photoshop 2020.
9:17 Why not use "Healing Brush Tool"? It has functionality of Spot Healing and precision of Clone Stamp. Solves the duplication issue as well. That's always my go-to tool.
You have done several tutorials dealing with enhancing the eye but those all deal with color images. In this tutorial you touch on rebuilding the eye in black & white but it is at fast forward speed. I would find it very useful if you could do a detailed tutorial of rebuilding the eye in B & W
Mr. Aaron this is my first time making some comments in Facebook and subscribe in those tutorial as well, however I can say that watching your extraordinary tutorials I'm really astonished and happy following your episodes each week. Your tutorials are fresh, funny and easy to follow and I am learning a lot. I have I suggestion for some tutorials. Some times I have seen photos that they have lights behind people and of course the face of them is dark. How to solve this problem?. Another one is to move people from photos taken in the interior environment to the exterior when the light source is totally different, on those scenarios. Thank you very much.
That was really nice. Once you did a restoration tutorial, how about a tutorial about coloring B&W Pictures. I've seen from WW 1 and WW 2 and they were amazing. Thanks guys.
Hi Aaron and all team! I really love you're channel and I'm always learning with your tutorials. I'm trying to make a logo but I still have one doubt: is it possible to make a vector or work with vectors on photoshop? Thank you so much. All the best for you guys!!
Great instructor! Emphasizes the right things. Thanks!!! I do need help with a photo. It is from a relative in the mounted cavalry around 191?. WW1. The camera? lens? has edge blur. The center line is very sharp. The whole group of mounted soldiers are charging towards the camera, but our relative is at the edge of the group and his face is a blur. Can you give me some pointers on how to fix this? No idea about the camera brand. It is an 8x10 photo. I would like to make it 12x18. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
