In today's video we talk about Creative Lighting techniques for Car Photography - and we do a full Light Painting Tutorial how to shoot and edit. Lighting painting is a great way to make your car photography stand out. I'm using the Aputure 120D to do the light painting and I am really happy with the results. What are your favourite settings for night-time photography or light painting? Help a brother out with your favourite lens/settings combination! If you do the edit tag me on Instagram, would love to see your take on the edit ✌🏼
Right from the beginning of the shoot all the way to the post processing. This is the best kinda content to help us learn! Keep up the great work Alex!!!
Your quality of work is top notch!! I’ve learned countless things from your channel!
Thanks so much! That means a lot, and I’m glad you’re learning! 👊🏼
Discovering layers and how to incorporate adjustments in a Photoshop edit is a must as a photographer! There was a time I only used Lr 🤦🏽♂️ not now 🙂 Great tutorial Bro! Btw, my hat arrived yesterday…thanks! Stay tuned for sometime on that soon 👊🏽💯
Totally agree! Gotta learn that Photoshop, even the basics will help immensely. So good man! I hope you like it as much as I do! =D
Loved this video Alex!
Another few tips would be to add another layer for the windshield and bonnet/hood with your CPL cutting those reflections out, and increase your shutter speed to get more details in the headlights - especially if they have DRL's!
Ah heck yes! Thanks for the added tips! Great ideas. So would you do two passes with the key light later with the cpl turned on second pass?
@@TheCarCreative yeah exactly! Use two layers with the key light. Makes it a little trickier to blend the layers but gets a really clean result!
Dude super cool lighting painting!!! Layers are so important, another awesome tutorial
Thanks Spencer! It was really fun to try out!
Another awesome video, I learned eve more stuff about photoshop than I knew before! Thank you Alex, can't wait for the next one man!
Happy to hear that! I'm always trying to break it down to make it helpful for people. I'm still learning heaps about photoshop too haha!
Great video Alex! Thanks for swinging by the poshlab!!
Any time! It's always a good time =D
Exactly what I was looking for.
Great one, thanks. I’ll try it.
Always on point Alex!!
Thanks eh!
Daaaang that looks sick!
Thanks so much! 🙏🏼
Dope tutorial, quick and efficient
Glad you think so! Thanks so much for watching!
Great work man.
I would also do a clean base shot with no lights at all with a long exposure just in case you need to edit out yourself in the image etc another option lighting wise is a very small softbox and put that over the Nanlite which can help direct the light better for detail shots like someone else mentioned for wheels, grill, badges etc
Nice job!
Impressive!
Thank you for stopping by!
This is interesting, and a really cool effect, but it feels like running before walking! Have you done, or could you do one on more straightforward vehicle lighting? Would you recommend strobes or continuous? How would you set it up in a similar situation to this? Outdoors? Thanks as always for the awesome info!!
thanks for the tips, really helped!
My pleasure bro!
Thank you for the video.
Thanks so much for watching!
Nice
This is so useful.
Great to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Photographed my first Drift event as media after watching your video. Thanks for talking about settings. It was very helpful!! I still need lots of practice but I got some shots I am pretty excited about and proud of for my first time. Would love your feedback but don't know how to attach a photo here. Newby to the world of youtube except for watching videos.
That’s great to hear! Glad you are happy with some of the shots 🙌🏼 Instagram at this point is the best way to tag me in photos. Keep learning, keep shooting. Cheers!
I love it
Hi ! Your videos are superb and we learn a lot of things 😁 if I want to buy your moody preset today is it still possible or not? Because I love this style of photo
Thank you so much! Yes! Moody preset is included in the V1 pack. Use code “CARPHOTOGRAPHY20” for 20% off for a limited time.
@@TheCarCreative oh yeah thanks you so much! I bought v1 pack maybe 5 days ago but i don't know if it's me but i find that preset change a lot colors (background + subject) of all pics And I can't recover the color of the motorcycle (I shoot motorcycles and defeat cars)...
How do you not show up in the shot while holding the light?
That’s my question
You look like the dude from drake & josh
Shady at best, didnt even remove the light streak
