I totally agree. Those books would be entertaining, and very informational. The books would start teaching the importance and understanding about the importance to be kind to not just monkeys, but all animals.
I can't help but feel sorry for Bo, she would have been a good mom. But that was taken from her and it took a toll on her for certain as we know that it cost the lives of 3 babies. They should at least be allowed to have 1 baby before fixing them
Babies can play a in determining your place in the troops of most monkey species, if I recall. The more girls you have, the better your status. It’s not good to have no babies or have only boys, as they usual don’t contribute to the troop they born into, as they are kicked out at a certain age. These areas out to consider this more, especially with younger females, because it can determine how low they are in the hierarchy, and also much bullying and harassment they receive. These females would basically close to ‘dregs’ and ‘freeloaders’ in their own society, because no females or babies means no contribution.😔
I wish she had realized she could have been a wonderful aunt to all the babies. But that doesn't seem to be enough for her 😢😢😢... Man turned her into a baby killer ...😢😢😢Della

Maybe Bo got used to the idea that babies will hoot, and struggle but she mustn't let go? But she must have also learned to give the babies back? I can see Bo used to take Floffi up into the trees, like she did with the kidnapped babies😢 In the end, it's like when a beloved family member develops some kind of mental illness, and they can't be trusted anymore.

It certainly goes a long, long way to explain why Floffi and Fozzi had such a hard time fighting back against Bo. She isn't just an older sister, she'd been their babysitter and second mother most of their lives. After Floffi lost her third baby to Bo, you can kind of tell something in her two younger sisters changed. They realized things were never going to change unless they themselves made big changes and for macaque's, that's got to be hard. Or I'm reading waaaay too much into this.
Honestly Floffi is pretty easy on Layla when it comes to her bugging to play with the baby. Most other moms are a lot snippier and may bite harder but she's just been giving her a lot of gentle swipes and stern looks.
Great episode, reviewing the early lives of Floffi and Fozzi! I began watching AM videos the summer of 2018. Although I immediately LOVED his channel and watched every video, for probably the first 6-12 months I was confused about who was who and which individuals belonged to which troops. I concentrated on Dopey, Reddy's family and Our Gang for quite a long time. Long way of saying I never really knew the back stories of Lowena's F girls so this video and the next are SO informative and interesting to me. They also give us more insight into Bo and the family dynamics and add context to the sad events in recent years. About that snake, did any monkeys see it and were they frightened? Or maybe they just signaled the threat and all avoided it. I can't remember if we've seen other snakes before here but I know Monkey World in the UK (sanctuary for many different primates though not rhesus macaques) has tested chimpanzees and other primates reactions to a fake snake, to see how they handled it and perhaps so individuals who were not raised in the wild could learn how to handle such a situation from those who were.
No wonder Floffi had a hard time standing up to Bo. Bo was a second mother to her. Now I know why she respected Bo so much and looked up to her. That’s why Floffi never took her babies back when Bo took them. Just more clarity to a sad, sad story.
