Rebel Offroad has great racks, I'm currently running their half rack. Extremely happy w/fitment, quality and the ability to add different modules based on whatever configuration you are looking for.
We have this rack on our JL, your assumption is correct, the wind noice is not very noticeable since its behind us. The freedom panels have room to come off and with lights installed, not much noise at all. We beat the crap out of ours and haven't had any damage, even with 100 plus pounds of cargo in it. Great video, too bad it doesn't work for ya.
Thanks for the review. I have a bed rack on my JT and a RTT on it, so I am looking for some additional cargo capacity as well (and to be honest, roof racks look cool ... I had the Warrior Renegade on my JKU and it transformed the whole look). I have looked at the "Hooke Road Jeep JT Hard Top Roof Rack Cargo Carrier Basket " and it seems to be a more affordable alternative that has a lower profile. Unfortunately I could not find a review of it (yet).
Thanks for this review. I wonder if a rack cover would help with reducing noise when the rack is empty? I've been looking at roof racks for two years and can't find one that I think will suit my needs. Eventually I will just have to have one fabricated. A half rack with a 10"-12" overhang over the bed would be ideal for me.
Try taping up the holes in the rack and maybe cutting out some cardboard templates for the front of the rack . If that helps , you can use plexiglass to redirect the wind . We have found wind gets under the rack or it will whistle in some of the holes
Hey man. I was trying to find some reviews of this before purcahsing ( I have a JL not a JT) would you know how to mount the smitybuilt awning to it? Trying to figure that out.
Sorry about that! I totally forgot! Here ya go ruggedridge.com/p/rugged-ridge-roof-rack-with-basket/rgr-11703-04/?cparam=349b170847a7a17ac84116ce0c09d456&gclid=CjwKCAjw0On8BRAgEiwAincsHAwVZblrAndfUrmzW8fUp8uJXIuzFWHqEQSyEOy312mcEeWCg4-H7xoC0iYQAvD_BwE
Talk to the pros in racks, Yakima and Thule. Talk to your friends. If I were you, I would get your buddies to build you a bed rack using that roof rack as its crown, or parts of it. Don't you have friends who weld or have buddies who weld? It must be made out of steel to weigh 100 lbs+

I’ve been looking to get this rack! Can you attach snowboard/ski attachments to roof racks like this?
Super helpful. Thanks.

So I guess you can't remove the roof panels now
Well… I can now. But only because I got rid of it after only a couple weeks.
I have it on my JL. Yes it is quieter. I dont hear a thing from the rack!
Do you have a link? Can't find it for the life of me.
