I'm putting the same windshield on my 2007 Wing. Do you remember if it matters how tight you make the screws holding the windshield to the slide brackets? I'm afraid that I've made mine too tight and therefore when I button it up it will be hard to slide it up & down like I did easily with my last windshield.
My 2023 Tour DCT will be delivered on Nov 11th and I couldn't be more excited. I totaled my 2012 in April when someone pulled out in front of me. Thanks for all the hard work on the maintenance videos.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. I just replaced the windshield on my 2001 Goldwing. Just a note, there is only one bolt behind the mirror on each side. I believe on your wing there are two on each side. Just something for those with 2001 models (and maybe others) to note.
Thanks cruise man it’s 96° here in the upper Midwest and just put my Shorty windshield on my F6B I didn’t need your video but I’m sure there’s many wing owners out there that do! Thank You thank You ✌️
Im slowly but surely watching every Cruiseman video while working on my new-to-me F6B 🤣 thankfully most of the stuff applies because these other guys with their shaky cameras and terrible sound are no help at all. All hail CruiseMan!
Thank You. Great video. I would check the up & down operation of the new windshield BEFORE reinstalling the center cowl. I like the front fender cover!
Thank you Cruiseman! I decided to temporarily remove that metal bar (windscreen holder) which allowed for a good inspection. I smoothed out those under-engineered vertical strips of tape that the screen rubs on, and for better or worse put a dab of lithium grease on them. Apparently, those extra two slots were used on older models. Changing the vent was not in the video... take care to not break that little tab, carefully refit the back piece into the top grove, and don't lose those plastic washers! I really like my new V-Screen! Cruiseman, you Rock!
Just fyi, there is a nut on each side right, by the bolt under the mirror that holds the front trim. By removing those nuts, that metal housing in front on the windscreen will remove and fold down out of the way making this job a lot easier. Tried to include pictures but it wouldn’t let me. Love the vids. Bill

@@r.williamcomm7693 l am planning to replace my stock windshield with a vstream windshield. How do you like it? I saw some negative feedbacks about vstream windshields on the net.
Thank you, sir. This video was a great help. I found that the towel stuffed between the fairing and mirror is an absolute must. Especially if you have large hands.
First I really appreciate the video as I just got a Goldwing Trike and the windshield is all scratched up and needed to be replaced. This is my second windshield for a Goldwing. I am going to be direct and hopefully it won't offend, but I found this windshield you recommended to be flimsy and horrible compared to the Stock Goldwing shield. In addition it has a LOT of distortion, It shook and vibrated, luckily I only had the bike a month or two after I installed this and sold it. This time around I went with the Clearview shield, thicker stable and not a problem using regular ol' Rainex. JMHO.
Hei Cruiser Man! I wonder if you could Give me your opinion. Which windshield would you purchase and why, between f4 customs or National cycles vstream?
very good video. Mr. Rogers type presentation..clear and just the facts needed. There is an old proverb- saying in Spain,(you’ll have to speak slowly because I’m in a hurry)..perfect... thank you....
What is that tangle shaped rubber flap for that is held on with one screw behind the front garnish. I can never remember to put it back on and it looks like you forgot also when speaking about all that is left to do...
I purchased my Vstream windshield from Amazon. It did not come with the vent or any hardware. When do I get a vent that fits and where do I get the stick on spacers and hardware? please help!
I guess I should have watched your video before I started to tackle the job. I dropped one of those grommets down in the fairing! I think I'll just check with Honda and see if they can get one. I still have a month before the snow is all gone here anyway.
@@cruisemansgarage The problem I have is I don't know where to find it. I have looked on the Windshield fiche but I don't see it there. Nor do they apparently show the two screws that hold the windshield to the bike. If it is in there it isn't shown very clearly. I'll keep plugging away.
@@bubblehead7680 Looking at the Windscreen Fiche (Partzilla > Catalog > Honda > Motorcycle > 2012 > GL1800 8A Goldwing > Windscreen), Item 38 (P/N 90103-HC4-770) appears to be the two screws for the sides of the windshield. Sir quick question. On my 2012 Wing I am replacing my Tulsa tall that broke into and I was looking into the vstream. I have read a number of reviews that state that that the height adjustments were difficult to do after installation. After you installed yours did you have any issues regarding height adjustments. I really appreciate your videos and value your opinion. Thanks, Robert
Cruiseman, Americade is next week here in the North East Coast and I don't know if you have hear of F4 Custom windshields, what is your knowledge about them, they are scratch resistant and bead the water really, what made you go with V-Stream. I'm do for a new windshield as i have so much of that spiderweb kind of scratches all over that makes it hard to see at night with the light glare.
Honestly, I don't remember why I chose vStream, maybe because I saw one on a Wing and like the shape of it. It is a good product, but you have to get the SE model. My next windshield would probably be a F4, just because they are so durable.
Cruiseman I just replaced my windshield got it all back together and I couldn't get it back down. After fighting it I gave up and took it all apart again and it went down almost by itself. here did I screw up and will it work next time? Right now it is down. Thanks
First, you buy a Madstad shield and then install it so you never have wind slap your ears again and can feel a nice breeze without looking through a windshield that's similar to sitting on a beach.
Is it me or does the windshield vent make a ton of noise going down the highway? On top of that if I open the vent it blows right in my eyeballs! anyone have the same experience?
I have a 2021 red and black in my opinion that’s the best color in the last couple years. The 2024 would look a lot better if the engine, wheels, and exhaust wasn’t blacked out. The least they could do is make that an option. I’ll keep the one I have. There’s nothing to draw me to the 2024.
glad to see you still put out video on older wings so many have for got were they came from!
Thank you! I just replaced my 2008 GL1800 windshield and you were spot on and super helpful. Only wish it was this easy to change the air filter, lol!

Do you have a video replacing the vent in the windscreen?

What did you learn from the manufacturer regarding the mismatched secondary mounting points?
I never got a reply on that. I will circle back to them.

I don't, but you could find it on Partzilla website. Partzilla.com.

No you didn't screw up, the rubber pieces you put on are making it stick. They put them there because the windshield is thin and flimsy.
Great video, thanks!
What website did you order that windshield from? I'm looking to get one thanks for any info
wingstuff.com/products/24215-vstream-quantum-hard-coated-windshield-for-gl1800
soo many bolts are 10 mm, I purchased a 10mm T-handle wrench. use it all the time
Excuse me,
What’s the height for your old windshield and the new one?
Been so long, I don't recall.
thanks! great vid!
Great video, but FYI, music needed to be edited way lower. Thanks!

With this screen being so curvy, doesn't that create a lot of distortion?
There is a little distortion on the edges, but it is not bad.
you missed the step about removing and installing the COVER, GARNISH and what size of screw is takes????
The windshield is made for a goldwing
