Brad, you made an important point when saying "it isn't worth much money". Treasure doesn't always equate to monetary value, and your finds today--especially the Vermont military button and the shoe buckle chape--are in my mind treasure.
I love seeing old things, they bring to mind history that should not be forgotten. History may not be worth much money but lessons learned are invaluable.
I look forward to your videos every week. You put so much time into your production and it shows! I really like the new additions of the lighting bolt design for the beeps and the slide showing the range from iron to silver. They add a lot to helping us, the viewer, understand what you hear. One thing that you've done for awhile now that always amazes me is the way you overlay the design as it should look over the relic in your hand. That takes time and skill and I think it's awesome! Thank you for sharing your wonderful hobby and the beauty of where you live by taking us along for the adventure!
Brad, when you found the Brass Lever I immediately recognized it to be from a machine oiler. I have two of them here on my desk, made by the D.T. Williams Valve Co. Cincinnati Ohio, #2 Tacoma Oiler. The very Large lumber mill I worked 52 years ago for was throwing them away and replacing them with Plastic Oilers, go figure. At least I saved 2.
Nothing like popping out an old coin, especially an old silver coin. Love the Vermont button as well. As always, thank you for taking us along on your adventures.
What a bunch of great finds. That Vermont button is amazing! ☆ If you look closely at the flat end of the reeds, there should be the note of the reed... A#, C, etc.
Congrats on the Vermont Military button. Wow Barber half. It may be tarnished but the detail is very very nice. I couldn't help but hit that coin with silver polish. Awesome shoe buckle part. Many nice finds & yes please go back there.
As long as it is not rare and is only worth melt value, why not make it look as good as it can be? Clean it and maybe even wax it to stop future tarnish so that it displays well. After all of that is still has melt value, so why not?
Gotta say, I’m really loving the new effects! The little starburst around the coil on the detector is lovely, and the bar showing what it’s ringing up as is really helpful!
Very nice Hunt Brad. Congrats on your Vermont Military Button. Love the IHP and the piece of the Shoe Buckle. Congrats on the 1911 Barber Half Dollar. Out of all the Half Dollars I've found the Barbers are the most I've found. I've found 2 Seated 4 Walkers 2 Benjamin's 3 Kennedys. I've found 8 Barber Half Dollars. It is a great feeling when you find Big Silver. Love all your finds Brad. And I like the new special effects you have added to your videos. Take Care Brad
Nice assortment! On another note....7th generation! Awesome. I would encourage you to do a show digging into your family history! I would definitely enjoy that.
I really like the graph at the top of the screen. Your additions and innovations, you've made to your videos over the years, are first in rate. I used to watch everyone's metal detection video I could find and though I still actively detect, yours is the only one I watch now. You do a fantastic job and those are great finds in today's video! Keep up the good work.
Nice finds I have a spot on the Ct river where I’ve found over 100 silver coins going back to a 1652 pine tree my friend found I have found over 10 halves silver I love detecting small beach areas I’ve had some of my best silver days 30+ silver coins in one spot halves on the surface Barbers
Brad, I envision a time when you have left this Earth and people randomly come up to you in Heaven and say "Hi, do you remember finding " this or that?? "That was mine!". You found my locket, or my bell, or my brothers baby spoon." My mind works in strange ways. It just brings a smile to my face. Maybe you could reinact these special finds in a future series...That Was Mine! Anyway, so enjoy your posts, Thank You, my imagine runs wild. Have also thought about an Old Tree telling the history that passed by during it's life.
The editing of your videos are so good . I’m in mass and do a little detecting myself. I have camped at almost every Vermont state park . Coolidge is the only one we still go to every year ash lean to every June . I can’t wait to hit some spots this year in VT
Great find Brad! I found a Canadian version of that barber half dollar. Was a 1910 and it came out black, but otherwise in great shape.... AND it was at a spot that was flooded in 1927 that had been around since the 1800's... just like you! That video drops in about a month... check it out if you can. Love from Canada!
Congrats on that military button from Vermont...a GREAT TREAT for You!!! A really nice piece of silver too!!! MAY THE GOOD LORD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!!! 🙏🙏🙏🛐🛐
Enjoying the new highlights of the metal detector. And as always you videography of the surrounding areas is OUTSTANDING. Is photography you second hobby? Lol
I’m going Barber… I found a 1908 barber (dime) in my front yard on the first day I got my new metal detector. First one I ever found! But this town was here in 1837, and was booming by 1845. Now it’s a rust belt relic. 😢
Pretty cool button! Scovill manufacturing was located in Waterbury, Connecticut and is in business today under the name Morito- Scovill Fasteners, located in Clarkesville, Georgia. I retired from Scovill in September 2022 after 43 years. Really enjoy your videos.
When you picked up that silver half dollar-wow!! First person to touch it in 100+- years!! I feel that way when I pick up an arrowhead/ Indian artifact from maybe thousands of years ago. You go!!!!
Indeed, Vermonters did participate in the civil war. Back in the day I found 2 such on the 1862 Seven Pines battlefield just outside Richmond VA and later found 2 more in the 1864 Petersburg/Richmond siege lines. Of course, these finds were over a period of years. Gratz on yours.
Congratulations on all the amazing finds Brad. The Barber half is awesome. I've only ever found one half dollar and it's an 1894 O mint Barber that I found at an old country school sight 3 years ago here in Nebraska. Again Congratulations and can't wait for next week.
That was a good day, Brad. I expect you will find even more when you return. I have a connection to VT. I grew up in Rensselaer, NY but we had a summer cabin, built by my Great uncle, on North Hero Island.
Hey Brad! Very nice button! I actually found a cuff size button of the same sort in a very odd place I won’t mention lol. Would love to pick your brain sometime being a fellow native. Great content as always keep it up👍
A little staining, but the Barber half seems to have beautiful details, especially the front. This should look great in your display cabinet. Congratulations.
I'm going to go with a Vermont military button. They made so much more of those Barbers than they did them Vermont military buttons. Glad to hear you're 7th generation Vermonter. my lineage goes way back as well.
8:08 brass thing is a lever for a oil dripping lubricator. It operates a plunger. Straight up, valve open. Flipped down, valve closed.. Used on old single cylinder engines and associated driven equipment. Valve open/close status could be opposite, I forget.
Hey Brad. Love your channel. I live in NY and the biggest problem I have metal detecting is how to get permission to metal detect; even on private land. Any suggestions on the best way to ask for permission to metal detect on someone's land? I appreciate your time and keep the vids coming!
Hey Brad My name's Paul I'm having metal detectress just watched your video have watched a couple in the past The Vermont button for sure is is a bang and fine along with that barber half dollar which you don't find many half dollars nowadays I can remember when I was young of course in the oh we'll just go late '70s early '80s and finding half dollars often but awesome finds and you know treasure is in the one who finds it have a good one man in your videos are really cool to watch you really get involved with it I love the way you you put your videos out Good job
Maybe that lead seal doesn't say M8 Co on it? The 8 is a B and it says COMB on it? Maybe that will help looking it up or point you in a different direction for doing research? Maybe there is a database with lead seals used in the Vermont area during the 1800s?
Oh man. As soon as you showed that ground, I wanted to detect it so bad. Lol. I knew it'd be good. The water intensifies signal, so my detector woulda worked great.
I like the new addition to the video effects. We use that type of oil dripper where i work. But we drip isopropyl alcohol on tangled wire. That button is so cool. I love local historical finds. Great day!
Brad, it has been awhile since I commented about your finds on a hunt. With an Indian Head cent, a Barber half dollar and a Vermont shield state button, you have found a trifecta of amazing treasures. While I certainly think highly of the two coin finds, I have to agree with you that the most amazing of your three treasures is the state seal button. I have never seen one before so it really stands out as the #1 treasure among todays finds. Congrats. Hope you get to go back to the site and add to your special finds in the near future.
Congrats in the Vermont button! Big silver is always fun to find, but the history associated with the button is more fascinating. I hope you can get out there again soon!
Mint mark? Come on Brad, it’s easy to flip the coin around and reveal the mint mark. You never do this… although it can be very important on a coin. More so than the date.
I have a cheap metal detector I got a number of years ago but never used it. What would be a good detector to buy that isn't real expensive and where would I get it? I would like to do some Vt. metal detecting this summer.
The half dollar looks like it has a rotated die error. I've found underwater old silver and they were always that grey color, but beautiful none the less.
Brad, you made an important point when saying "it isn't worth much money". Treasure doesn't always equate to monetary value, and your finds today--especially the Vermont military button and the shoe buckle chape--are in my mind treasure.

I work for a wire company, and we still use a form of oil dripper for isopropyl alcohol. Very cool
A#, C, etc.
Really enjoy your videos. It makes the start of my Friday much better
Brad I normally don't like long videos, but I wish yours were longer. Keep them coming.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Congrats on the Vermont Military button. Wow Barber half. It may be tarnished but the detail is very very nice. I couldn't help but hit that coin with silver polish. Awesome shoe buckle part. Many nice finds & yes please go back there.

Green Mountain Metal Detecting, I love your channel so much, I just had to subscribe!
Chape, Vermont button and a ridiculously large Barber half dollar!! You can't really expect more in this type of hunt!! Congrats, Brad!
Hey BRAD!!! I had a blast today… thank you for taking us along. See
You soon!
Your KY❤FAN
I found a 1908 barber quarter back in December; but a half!!??!! Killer find brother. Thanks for taking us along.
“Value” is defined by the person who possesses it. These treasures are prime examples. Thanks for another great video!
Gotta say, I’m really loving the new effects! The little starburst around the coil on the detector is lovely, and the bar showing what it’s ringing up as is really helpful!

Oooh, that enhancement on the Vermont Button was very nice! Great find, congrats!
Man. Just looked it up and 50 cents was about $16 back then!
The editing of your videos are so good . I’m in mass and do a little detecting myself. I have camped at almost every Vermont state park . Coolidge is the only one we still go to every year ash lean to every June . I can’t wait to hit some spots this year in VT
Thanks for sharing another awesome video I enjoyed it ♥️♥️♥️♥️⚒️🇺🇸🗝️

Man you just made us both old vermonters when you said vintage Daredevil LOL
I think that bale seal is actually M&Co.
Amazing finds. And I enjoyed seeing you dig in the soft mud. So often you have to break up hard ground. I'd love to see another video from this spot.

Reverse, stunning!
Obverse?
Why’d you do lady Liberty so bad?!?!
“That’s a man, baby”!!!!
Brad, that Barber is in good shape. Ahhhh, it’s stained but what the heck brother, it’s a silver Barber, sooooo congratulations guy!💪🏻🎉🏆
Awesome Brad! Thanks for all you do! -George Mickatavage Danbury, CT

Brad what hobby will you go to when congress passes the no metal detecting bill in Washington DC?
Late April fools day!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪
"Finding America" uses the following saying, " It's history that makes a find a treasure".
Well done, as always
Congratulations on all the amazing finds Brad. The Barber half is awesome. I've only ever found one half dollar and it's an 1894 O mint Barber that I found at an old country school sight 3 years ago here in Nebraska. Again Congratulations and can't wait for next week.
Congratulations on the Vermont Civil War button! Your legacy is well represented!
That was a good day, Brad. I expect you will find even more when you return. I have a connection to VT. I grew up in Rensselaer, NY but we had a summer cabin, built by my Great uncle, on North Hero Island.
Those were great finds! That Vermont Civil War button is definitely a unique find!
Lever off the top of a babbit bearing oiler from machinery is my best guess...I've seen similar....and then you post the image...lol
Hey Brad! Very nice button! I actually found a cuff size button of the same sort in a very odd place I won’t mention lol. Would love to pick your brain sometime being a fellow native. Great content as always keep it up👍
That’s great Brad. I have been a subscriber for several years but I haven’t been watching every episode. This was a good episode to come back to
A little staining, but the Barber half seems to have beautiful details, especially the front. This should look great in your display cabinet. Congratulations.
"I'm not going to do anything to this coin" - world numismatic community fully supports this view !!!
I'm going to go with a Vermont military button. They made so much more of those Barbers than they did them Vermont military buttons. Glad to hear you're 7th generation Vermonter. my lineage goes way back as well.
Awesome finds. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!!!
Wow! What a beautiful button! Watching from Athens, Georgia.
Brad do you have a youtube channel 4 your music, the intro & outro, so soothing . .. Didn't you and a friend (forgot his name🙂😉) record several songs.
Well worth making as many trips possible before the level raises up and hides the ground again. Great hunt Brad.
Nice finds! I appreciate your uploads! Thx..
The half Dollar is not in the worst of conditions considering. I would say a High VG Details at best. Great find
8:08 brass thing is a lever for a oil dripping lubricator. It operates a plunger. Straight up, valve open. Flipped down, valve closed.. Used on old single cylinder engines and associated driven equipment. Valve open/close status could be opposite, I forget.

The Barber half dollar was the coolest find.
UA-cam seems to have unsubscribed me! I have resubscribed, but I thought that you should know.
Amazing finds. Thanks for sharing. I hope you get the opportunity to go back there again as I’m sure there’s more amazing things waiting to be found.
I looked it up, and $0.50 in 2013 is equivalent to $15 today. Someone was not happy to lose that!
Maybe that lead seal doesn't say M8 Co on it? The 8 is a B and it says COMB on it? Maybe that will help looking it up or point you in a different direction for doing research? Maybe there is a database with lead seals used in the Vermont area during the 1800s?

That's just awesome Brad !! 💙💙
Love you're videos !! 🤩
Congratulations on top shelf coin find! Tapping sessions worth bragging about!
Awesome finds! Total side note - what brand of pants are those? Look super good for hiking and junk and I’d like a pair!
Those were some awesome finds. Especially the button. I think that is the best find of that day!!!
Awesome finds. I was fortunate enough to find my 4th ever barber half 2 days ago. It definitely made my heart skip a beat.
Congratulations on the Vermont Button. I felt the same way when I found my first NC button.
Oh man. As soon as you showed that ground, I wanted to detect it so bad. Lol. I knew it'd be good. The water intensifies signal, so my detector woulda worked great.
Congrats on the Barber half. Found my first one ever last year they're beautiful coins of maybe that's just because they're big silver lol
Yes Brad you must return. Its a very interesting location.....😉
Woohoo! Awesome finds! Thanks for the peek over your shoulder while you dig em!
Hey Brad, congrats on that bucket lister. Diggin the tech upgrades to the channel. HH

The metal gauge at the top of the screen is a good addition. The lines coming from the detector when positioned over a signal, I could do without.
What a hunt. Too bad we couldn't search the town that's forever under water. Imagine the finds there.
We sure miss you in the winter! Maybe sometime youll go to Scotland and derect with the Scottish Detectorist.❤
I love the visual beeps.
No one wants to watch something with annoying beeps.❤
Interestingly, my spouse works in shipping and those lead seals are still used today.
I really like how informative you are with everything. Great channel.
We had a great winter on our dammed up old farm lake. Favorite place to dig. Nice finds.
Great finds,I really like the half dollar, that would be my favorite.
Are you located near Springfield? My daughter lives there ans we would love to get out with my old metal detector
The half dollar looks like it has a rotated die error. I've found underwater old silver and they were always that grey color, but beautiful none the less.
Being a 7th generation Vermonter, have you ever detected where your forebears lived?
