I love Trivium and this plugin sounds pretty cool, but for the price it isn't worth ir, with the same money you can get the Gojira plugin with way more tonal options, so I don't plan to spend money on this
Well said. I feel like the Ampknobs becoming sort of a mythos. And this new series is a money printing machine. I mean 2 Ampknobs with 4 IRs and probably a 5. IR (for the Clean channel) and a Bass Knob. Hey, they have a Chorus and a delay (on one of the Ampknobs). Lol. And that for 150 Euro? That´s the price range of an Archetype: Gojira that comes with endless possibilities. That said, I can´t wait to get my hands on that. Damn it! 😂😂😂
The original AmpKnob (RevC) was and still is amazing. The 5150/6505 decent, but rather generic. The MLC, didn't like it, but at least it has a specific sound. This one does absolutely nothing to me. Good if you don't have any other amp sim in your arsenal, otherwise an easy pass.
These are like taking the hustle of dialing the amp away , throw them in the mix and scroll through your IRS until you find the ones that fit
I'm with you on this. I love Trivium, but this is definitely overpriced and overhyped. I also compared it with a tone that I dialed using Emissary and the good old free Mercurial Cab and the ampknob just didn't sound metal enough
Different perspective: These are like Kemper/Tonex profiles but with really usable gain range and no post EQ because every DAW already has one.

Meant to save you from option paralysis - proceeds to spawn multiple not-so-different variations on the same topic. I don't know, selling preset packs (with IRs most likely) to actual ampsims would be a more consumer-friendly option than whatever this strategy is.
told it from the start, bullshit one knob gimmick stuff, now they have more options, released sub zero plugin and so on. its a joke.

I got this the other day. Tbh i wasn't that impressed with it. I found it to bass heavy, plus lacking in that mid crunch i like. I know all can be fixed with some added EQ, but i wanted it to sound good on its own.
Just trialed all of their plugins and think the same. Rhythm plugin is kinda muddy, has too much low end. It is not tight at all. BDH is so much better, tighter, punchier and easy to mix. Also I was surprised by MLC knob, because by default it is very low gainy, but between 9 and 10 gain it actually sounds waaaaay better than Rhythm knob. The only cool thing in this one - channels with completely clean one + reverb. Other than that, sound is worse somehow..
The rhytm one is hard no to me, basically same peavey stuff as in BDH, the lead is nice, the bass isn`t bad but the previous bass knob I like more. Honestly, after MLC I was expecting something more interesting than this, let`s see what`s next. Maybe Diezel, I never could dial in that😄
Yeah it's kinda the same thing again. Like most companies after releasing few different sims it starts getting stale.
I think all Bogren Digital products are great, especially AmpKnob. They have a full set - guitars, bass, drums. It is very easy and simple for quick recording, especially for beginners who find it difficult to deal with sound settings for a long time. This makes it easier for me because I can sit for hours tweaking the sound instead of just recording and making a track. But we are all different people, everyone finds their own product 🤘😎

I think both sounded very good. But the fact is that the default IR of the ampknob are supposed to be used without the need of an eq to fit in the mix. Well this is very subjective but I would have been interesting to hear the mix 1 without post eq.
And when you use your impulse in the plugin I think it go trought the IRDX, dunnow if you feel a difference between this and your IR in nadIR for exemple.
Also I ll be very happy to hear your honest opinion about the ML sound new Relflex IR before the intro sale falls off , but nothing to do with that 😆
IRDX has gotta be the most snake oiled product out there honestly. Post eq made a huge difference. Never a fan of 'mix ready' anything.
Your title says it all with these 'knob' plugins; it is what it is. Nothing less, nothing more. You plug in, load it up and off you go with no hassle. For some, that is very appealing to ditch the tweaking, though you lose flexibility that way. Now, about the star of the show here, which are your amazing riffs! Your demo really kicks butt with all the musical wizardry going on there. Never a dud, not even once! I wish I had a 'knob' to switch on some of your creativity and skills! Package that up and I would buy it today! Also, your Volume IV collection is awesome, and I grabbed that as soon as I got the email the other day. I've been waiting patiently and here it is! Your own IRs are definitely far better.
I have the Ampknob RevC, but I probably wouldn't buy any of the newer versions.
They work fine and do what they're supposed to do, but overall it's a pretty boring experience.

This is such a low effort video. There's three different "knobs" and you don't even bother trying the other two and you just imply that these are a waste of money...ok?
