sorry to say this but young lady you really didn't know what went there to study. you don't even know the rudiments of what you've studied. I am not even doing Linguistics ( tho i love the course) but i know more of it's demands and stuff than you. it's not about being FUN or don't be scared. That's what you say to people who came for the purpose of lavishing on something easy. Not for someone truly aspiring because all you said made the course look like a dumb joke as the rumour has it. LINGUISTIC is the scientific study of languages. But you never mentioned anything related to that. It's honestly disappointing to see someone water down a course i hold in high esteem. please find someone who knows what they went to study
